3-0 out of 5 stars Great if you can get it to work...
I started with Studio DV (v 1.0?), after much tweaking was able to import DV, but not export DV to camcorder. Found out on the excellent Pinnacle support webboard (mostly disgruntled users) that my motherboard wasn't supported.. So after an upgrade I finally was able to get a project output to camcorder. Then I decided I wasn't going to hassle with it until DVD R technology was available.
Got a DVD+R/RW, and decided to purchase Studio 8 despite reading the webboard ... Was able to import and edit right away--very easy interface. Then the trouble, wasn't able to render. Decided to upgrade to Windows XP (from 98SE) and NTFS file system. Reinstalled (with 8.5.2 upgrade patch) and project rendered fine first try. Then burned to disc image--great! Then burned to DVD+R--great! Then tried to watch it--first menu popped up--I was in tears of joy! Then tried to move through the menu---"DISK UNPLAYABLE"... UGH.
There are scads of hints and tips and suggestions from other users on the support webboard to fix this and other issues (now I can't render), but the software is unstable and not ready for general consumer use. I may just use it for editing and output MPEG2/AVI, then find another program for DVD authoring. Bottom line is I've been trying to create a project for 4 months and all I have to show is a coaster and [money spent on] computer upgrades. I'm convinced Pinnacle is a front for the PC industry to drive upgrades...

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of features and easy to use
I had never used video editing software before, and read a lot of reviews, both user and "expert" before settling for Pinnacle Studio Version 8.
Curiously, the 10 digit serial number was printed backwards and it took a while to figure that out. Also it was on the CD sleeve, not on the back of the book where the on screen instructions told me to locate it.
After installing (a breeze) I watched the tutorial video and then made a couple of test movies. One on fresh video footage from my Samsung mini DV camcorder, the other was a compilation of AVI video clips my folks back in Old England have e-mailed to me and I have been saving them on my hard drive.
Both movies were easy to compile and fun to do. I easily added transition effects between scenes and titles, trimmed some scenes and then rendered the whole thing. I found rendering was slow, as many other reviewers have pointed out, but that was my only complaint.
I made one test movie on a CD using MPEG2 which played fine on my DVD player. The other was a compilation of 20 and 30 second AVI movie clips, which was also very easy to put together and played perfectly on my (older) DVD player. Movies can also be made in streaming fashion to display on a web site or in formats suitable for e-mailing. The many formats available is definitley one of its strong points.
This software was pretty easy to use, with nice features allowing a complete amateur like me to impress the hell out of my friends at first try!
I accomplished all of this without any prior experience with video editing software so I give my full approval.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pinnacle 8 RUINED MY LIFE.
First of all. Are you wondering if you should buy Pinnacle (8 or 9, the same thing)? Are you looking for a functional or at least friendly editing software? I can give you the answer!

Pinnacle made me cry, and I'm not joking or exagerating. It made me cry, when I lost my 43-min project when I'd just reached half of it... Also when I was doing the final render, and WITHOUT MY PERMISSION it'd just change the audio tracks, turn one song into another, repeat video files I didn't even include (sometimes I was just wating for it to include video files I hadn't even captured!), it goes wacko, crazy, mad,'s frustrating. Not to mention all those times where I just layed too much of my trust on it, didn't saved every single thing I did and it'd just crash and end itself.

Why oh why, did I EVER thouhgt of buying this? Please listen to me, listen to us all and don't make the same mistake we did. DIE PINNACLE.

1-0 out of 5 stars Would be good if it worked!
The good: Pinnacle Studio is packed with features and is quite easy to use.
The bad: It's JUNK. Full of bugs even with the latest updates. It's slow too. STAY AWAY from this product!
Version 9 is even worse.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pinnacle Studio 8 Rocks!
Despite of all the other bad reviews Pinnacle Studio 8 is a fine product. I got the same advise from a DVD Support site. They advised me that Studio 8 can work with their DVD burners but only if I can make the application work. Good luck! I guess i am lucky because with Studio 8 my DVD movies are of superior quality to those other video programs such as Sonic My DVD or Sony MovieShaker. Also, Studio 8 is a more complete application because enables me to edit sound as MP3 files from Real One Player together in my videos. Therefore, Studio 8 offers a more integral interface with a sexy touch for the digital video lover. I am happy with Studio 8! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars It is sad
Videowave 7 is an extreemly difficult program to use.

The company appears to be deceptive in its marketing by leading a customer to believe that they can be contacted by e-mail with help questions. When a question is sent to the company they send back a form response to look at there website.

The program that is supposed to help you learn is beyond difficult. It makes no sense and tells very little.

They also pretend to have a video training program that comes to assist the customer. This tells almost nothing and just stops.

I was going to contact the company but I am sure they are well aware. How could they not be? Someone that they know must have tried to use the program.

Their success in sales may have more to do with customers thinking that they alone are having such a difficult time.

If you would like an experience in frustration have fun.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not spend your money for this Software
This software has serious memory problems. It can not run smoothly and froze my computer on a regular basis. If you buy, you have to spend time for rebooting your computer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Possible the worst software I even bought!
Do not, under any circumstances, buy this software! It has been a source of frustration from day one! First, this software has serious memory problems. It cannot run smoothly and froze my computer on a regular basis. The fact that I have a new Sony VIAO with all the bells and whistles, and the fact that subsequent video editing software run perfectly, has to point to an inefficient memory use by this software. Also, the videos that I tried to edit were your plain vanilla family trip clips, nothing extraordinary. Still this software couldn't handle them.

To add insult to injury, this software is full of locked features, yes even at that price! For example, if you want MPEG-4 computability, you need to purchase additional drivers ($10). If you want to use MP3 files, you need to purchase additional drivers. MP3? Isn't that an industry standard? Anyway the list of "premium" locked features goes on and on, even downloading the latest patch (9.4 at the time of this writing) doesn't help.

There are other serious flaws with this software, primarily around burning the DVD's. I can't fully report on these since unfortunately I only got to briefly sample these issues. Why you might ask? Because my computer kept on freezing before I ever got to finish editing the movie...

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice video editing but beware of the audio
I have used Pinnacle Video editing software professionally for several years. My experience with Pinnacle has been positive and I have produced a lot of work with their software.I think Pinnacle has really pioneered video editing for home use as well.Indeed I'm quite familiar with their versions of Studio 7, 8, 9 and 9 plus.I recently purchased their STUDIO MediaSuite for home use.It seemed like a nice package to have video, audio and photo editing all in one.Actually, I didn't need the photo editing because I use Adobe's Photoshop Elements (a really solid piece of software).

The short answer is that the video component works quite well. The interface is easy to understand and use.I'm sure most folks would be up and running in no time.Don't forget to check their web site for product updates.

The sound editing capability is another story.Pinnacle has (apparently) licensed Steinberg WaveLab Lite as the audio editor.WaveLab Lite is a home version of its more robust professional software. The first big problem I ran into using WaveLab is that it has no ability to rip CDs.None.This is quite surprising since that is one of the claims Pinnacle makes for this software on the outside of the box.So if you purchase MediaSuite you will have to purchase a separate software for ripping CDs.The second problem is that neither Pinnacle nor Steinberg will support WaveLab Lite. This makes a certain kind of business logic sense Steinberg doesn't sell it and Pinnacle doesn't own it.Yet it's an orphaned software that no one will claim as their own and will not support. So be forewarned that if you purchase MediaSuite then you are on your own if you have any problems with it.

Other than that, this seems to be a fairly good product all in all. ... Read more

The arguable king of CD burning is back, and it's got a bag of new tricks. Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum Edition takes you by the hand and leads you through all kinds of CD and DVD creation, from data backups and music compilations to photo slide shows and feature films. User friendly to the last, it comes with a massive manual weighing in at almost 400 pages. Unfortunately, however, beneath the shiny surface of this program hide a few snags.

Burning data and music compilation CDs is simple enough with a "drag to CD" function--you can literally drag files from Windows Explorer onto an icon that resizes in the lower right corner of the desktop. More complex burning and copying can be done through wizards or manually.

For DVD authoring, Roxio includes support for every DVD burning format out there. It allows you to create movies, photo slide shows and more. It interfaces directly with digital video recorders to capture footage to the PC's hard drive, from where you can then burn them to a DVD. You can rearrange parts of a movie, trim clips, add sound, and more. The interface is functional at best, though, and casual film directors will pine for a simpler, more graceful solution than this program can offer.

The PhotoSuite applet's interface is overly friendly and not nearly powerful enough. Adding photos from a networked PC was a painstakingly slow process. Worse, once we'd picked out a few dozen photos, we went to create a VCD slide show and were met with an error message that even baffled Roxio tech support.

Another caveat: Easy CD automatically checks for product updates, but it forces you to register the product in order to download them. This invasion of privacy aside, Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 does provide some easy and user friendly features at the cost of clunky interfaces and limited options for power users.--Joel Durham ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Beats Sonic and Nero hands down
I am very much into burning CD's and now DVD's with the help of Easy CD Creator 6. I have used many other burning software and have nothing but problems. Installing Nero 5 made me lose my drives and I was stuck in Tech Support hell......p. I also tried making VCD and DVD movies with Sonic My DVD and it was a very frustrating experience.

With Creator 6 I was able to capture my video easily, add the content to the DVD Builder layout and I created a DVD with menu's that played perfectly the first time I tried. I am telling you and hope you believe me when I say, this is the easiest CD and DVD burning application available hands down.

I also forgot to mention the MGI photo application that is now owned by Roxio is also bundled as well. The biggest improvement over Creator 4 and 5 is the Audio application Audio Central which lets you rip MP3's and edit the MP3 file and ID Tags which contain all the information of the file. It compares to the audio features of Microsofts media player.

I strongly recommend this suite of burning products to anyone that has a digital camera, video camera, dvd player, or wants to backup or create audio CD's. This application does it all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not very user friendly...or with lack of support services
I have to agree, I am very disappointed with the software and services...don't like the idea of talking to a computer or calling long distance. My biggest problem is losing all audio files when video is copied to DVD. I paid 100 for a DVD of an occasion and when I went to copy with this software, I lost all the original audio tracks on the tape:-(...mine was also buddled with Plextor DVD-burner. I have to think twice before I buy another of these products as I now am shopping for something better to replace this software...I also have Pinnicle and with the rendering and failing to copy over to the DVD, it's just about as bad...customer service is better though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it
All CD&DVD burners tend to be fairly expensive, as usually software is. Comparing this to Nero, Roxio is a sure buy. It is really easy (surprise, surprise) to use, and it looks good.

It is also powerful, in the sense that you can do almost anything with it. You can even cut your music, design menus for your movie DVDs and create your own covers for your CD cases.

It comes with a helpful handbook that helps you deciding on wich application to use (Audio central, Creator Classic etc.).

One thing it lacks is a wizard. Wizards are always nice to use and keep you self-confident that you woun't waste your DVD disk though it is quite hard even without the wizard.

I didn't have any writer probelms, and I am overall happy with the product, though I think that once you buy an expensive DVD burner one has to buy an expensive program as well, though this does make burning so much easier than playing with codes and files and windows. If your looking for an powerful burner, this is what you should buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Save your money...
The best thing about this product is that I got it via eBAY for $15.00. I know now why it was so cheap. The module that I was really interested in, DVD creator, is a total disaster. It is hard to use, confusing, and does not produce repeatable results. Forget about getting help from Roxio. I tried using the email route. About 3 days after submitting a question, you get some form-letter jibberish back, unrelated to the question. I refuse to pay for long distance. I also refuse to buy any more Roxio products, at any price.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Genuine Stinker
I got this software with a terrific Plextar PX-708UP disk drive. Why they include ROXIO I will never understand. Lot's of problems. It doesn't work along with Redxpress Express Copyware 3. After using Redxpress once, the computer would recognize the DVD drive, but the ROXIO program wouldn't. The exact same thing happened with my two machines, both equipped with Windows XP. Don't buy it. Ive consistently found ROXIO products to be low rent. The pits. Go with Nero. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A lousy product
I have had this for a year. I have tried to create JPG format cd's using it's DVD burner and it's data storage mode. Neither works. When I move clips around it seems to randomly juggle the pictures. The instruction manual is not useful and overly simplistic. It's support is non-existant. I am scrapping this junk and will try Adobe Album

3-0 out of 5 stars Beware the updates
I've had better luck than the other reviewers, however I agree it acts like a beta version. After installing the program I was prompted to "update" the program suite. The update was over 39 mb! After loading a subsequent "update", I was prompted to restart my computer 4 times! Each time the computer would come up, I'd be prompted to restart again for the for the Roxio update to take effect.

Overall, the program is much easier to use than the prior version, in my opinion. I am especially pleased with the buffer underrun protection which was an issue with the 2 prior versions.

1-0 out of 5 stars Easy CD & DVD Creator 6
Nothing but problems with this software. It does not recognize my burner. I run WIN 98 SE on a new HP. I applied all updates and tried to contact ROXIO for support. They do nothing to help. Terrible product and terrible support. This software is a complete waste of money at any price.

1-0 out of 5 stars Easy CD Creator 6 is Anything But -- Stay Away!
This 6th version of Easy CD Creator is worthless, plain and simple. I could not get it to run on a brand new Dell Pentium machine no matter how clean the install was, or how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Roxio technical support was useless. I cannot comprehend know how this software made it through beta testing, much less to the street. After 5 useful versions of Easy CD Creator, it's hard to fathom how Roxio went so wrong, but their reputation will be taking a large hit as a result of this disaster.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buy anything else--not this
If the software worked, it would be quite good! It is relatively easy to figure out what to do, and then what to do next.

Unfortuantely, this is a bug laden mess provided by a company which clearly has no concept of customer service. Roxio has no compunction in providing non-working software. While it is possible to produce a working DVD after MANY hours getting the program set-up, woe to the person who then tries to use a different camera, OS or computer.

Current example, Roxio recently updated their engine to ver. 6.2.xx. Attempts to update my registered version resulted in error messages. Attempts to get customer service were unsuccessful. The software should not even be given away free. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Even with a DeCSS program - this is junk..
It turns out you can get a program called DVD-43 that will allow you to make backups of your DVD movies using this program by providing access to the DeCSS algorithm. But the compression (modification) technology that this tool uses to accomplish this makes the video quality *unbearable* in the duplicate. You can *see* the compression - even on a cheap TV set.

Don't bother with this program - it's just complete junk.

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Copy Any DVD
The box boasts of being able to "copy any movie", but that isn't the case. It does not have CSS encoding software built in, which is how most commercial DVDs are recorded.

I do not have any experience with copying non-encoded DVDs with this software.

1-0 out of 5 stars A waste of money!
I bought this program because it said outside the box "copy any dvd including the latest hollywood movies".
That's not true, after installing this program I tried to copy some dvds I owned and it always gave me an error. So I went to their web site and in one of the pages it says that it won't copy any dvd that has CSS copy protected feature. Meaning almost 95 percent of the dvds out there.
SO I wasted my money on this purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than other video recording software
You will not regret spending you money for this software. If you are looking for a software for DVD burning and video editting, you are at the right place. Trouble free, effecitve, easy to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars If only a little more editing capability
I've been looking for a good home movie transfering software for several months, and after reading many reviews and trying many trials, I can say that this one is best in the under $100 price point! If ONLY they had made it easier to snip little pieces out of the middle of clips instead of having to do splits and markers, it would have been a 5+ instead of a 5-. It also offers options on sound so that you won't have to bother with resetting your set top DVD player. Don't pay attention to the 'pro' reviews at popular PC magazine sites on this product. They are wrong. I highly recommend over anything else out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best end results in video editing
I got the trial for this program, because I tried DVD creator that came with my computer which is a losusy program the image and sound sometimes skipped, when you watched de VCD or the DVD. By the way I couldn't watch my home movies in the living room's DVD. So I tried different DVD editors. I downloaded several tials and the two best were ArcSoft Showbiz 2 and this one, but this one cost me about a third of what the showbiz program costs, so it was a no brainer get this one that also includes disc copier, a fast one by the way, a Photo Slide Show Disc. You can create either DVDS os VCDs, music cds including MP3 CDS OR MP3 DVD's but you can't convert audio files to MP3 the only weakness. You can also create data CD's and also edit previously recorded and not yet closed cds.
It's everypennies worth. Best of all is not as intimidating as Nero 6 or unastable as roxio Easys CD and Dvd creator.
Don't think you can make hollywood kind of DVD's but at least you can impress your family with menus, chapters, this is very important if you are in a hurry and want to watch just a particular scene, so you don't have to fast forward or rewind the disc.
I recommend it and it's mre like 4.5 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars It works with Windows 2000!
I recently purchased a DVD burner drive and the burning software bundled with it caused problems with my newly reloaded Win2000 operating system... as it usually does.

I tried downloaded versions of a number of burning software programs, until I tried ULead Moviefactory and it worked very well for me, without taking over my entire computer, so I checked the boxed disk version at Amazon and found it for a very reasonable price. I've purchased it and have been happy with the software, ever since. It's cheaper here in the box, than downloading it from ULead, directly.

I have a few "small button" issues with the frame advance interface of the program, during the editing process, but they are relatively minor. The program is fairly easy to figure out and use without reading the entire manual over and over to make sense of it.

I have tried tons of burning software and still use the free and cheap stuff for CD's because of their simplicity and quality of burn, but ULead DVD Moviefactory Disk Creator 3.0 should be one of the top three DVD/CD burning suites, from my experiences. The only mistakes, I have encountered, have been through user error, and even then, I haven't made a coaster, yet. I've been using it for about four or five months, and it only gets better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This product is great! I made a DVD movie in less than an hour (granted I didn't edit the movie). Just straight drag and drop.
I used several packages before, mainly, bundled ones with the recorder and it used to take hours (I'm SERIOUS) just to encode the video. The built-in encoder engine is quick compare to others.

BTW, I'm running the 30 days Trial Version. I'll buy it when it expires. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars buggy, unsupported program
When Power Director works, it's neat. Unfortunately, there are major problems. For example, large jpegs are scrambled in the preview library. Likewise, the burning software does not support newer dvd burners and many camcorders.
At other times, it is impossible to import mp3's; last week they'd import, this week they don't.

Compounding matters, on-line tech support is too slow (at least 6 days) and is usually incorrect. Live technical support is available only by calling Taiwan.

Lastly, there's only one buggy version (3.00.1208). As of yet, Cyberlink does not offer improved versions.

In comparison with similarly priced software producers such as LumaPix (FotoFusion)or PG Music (Band in a Box), Cyberlinks Power Director Pro fails miserably.

Good Luck.

I downloaded the trail version before I bought the full version. I accidentally found that you can manipulate the trial version to be able to use more than 30 photes/videos. Simply add a color board to the end of the story board (then delete if you don't need) and you will get another 10 images available. Keep doing this to add more and more. This actually made me decide to buy this, since I could really get a feel for the program and make the DVD I needed to for a special event. As for the program itself, I found it very simple to use. I have had some problems with it locking up or simply closing on me for no apparent reason. But that seems to come and go, so maybe its just me.

I have been using the progam to make DVD's of my kids plays, concerts and other events. It is very easy to add titles and even credits at the end. Although there may be a limit on the number of characters you can use on the color boards/titles. That seemed to be one area I was having problems. I just took my time, saved frequently and I ended up with some great DVD's to share.

All in all I would recommend this program. It is not at all overwehlming like some progams can be, but also can do more than others. With just the trial version and without reading the on-line manual, I was able to create a DVD including pictures, videos, transitions and titles with very little effort. I even learned to trim and split without the manual. This is really the only video creation software I have used, except for those that came with my computer or video camera and it far exceeds those in terms of ease and functions.

1-0 out of 5 stars Check camcorder compatibility!!
In October 2003 we purchased the highly recommended Sony DVD Handycam. The movies are recorded directly to DVD in digital format. The DVDs can be played immediately in most DVD players. I have been using the free software that came with the camcorder to edit and manipulate my home movies but the free software didn't offer enough options so I researched which software to purchase. I found several reviews that suggested Power Direct 3 and that's what I decided to buy. I installed the software and then determined that it is incompatible with my Sony camcorder and I am unable to "capture" my digital movies. The software will not allow capture directly from a DVD or from the harddrive. It is NOT an option...which seems like a basic option to me. I contacted the company to find out if they planned an upgrade to add the Sony camcorders into their compatibility system and they suggested that I buy a new camcorder. Give me a break! Then they suggested that before I buy the new camcorder I check its compatibility with Power Director 3 first. As if I would base my $1000 camcorder purchase on the compatibility of a $100 editing software. It never dawned on my that the number one recommended editing software would not work with the number one selling DVD camcorder. This has turned out to be an expensive lesson since I can no longer return the software (I threw away the box).

Definitely check to make sure that your camcorder is compatible before purchasing this software. And, do not think that you can rely on Customer Support or Technical Service for anything.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth a look
There seems to be a lack of stable, quality products for non-professionals trying to make a DVD or VCD from a DV tape. I've tried two, Cyberlink Power Director 3 and Sonic myDVD 5. Unless you aren't planning to edit, Power Director 3 is superior. It has a very intuitive timeline editing mode that will allow you to be very creative. I was able to easily create title effects, add transitions and backround music for may project. You can save your work to DVD, VCD and streaming media. The boxed version comes with a useful, printed manual.

There are some downsides.

1. The capture options are difficult to understand.
2. Some of the preferences settings don't seem to work (i.e., prompt for snapshot filename).
3. The burn functions aren't integrated into PowerDirector program, but rely on a separate program called EZproducer. The programs don't work together seamlessly. It took me a while to get the sound working using EZproducer (the same mixer settings didn't work for both programs). There is an unnecessary overlap in editing features which is confusing. Also EZProducer doesn't have some features that would be expected:
a. The EZproducer player doesn't give you a way to rapidly scan through the movie. There is no timeline slider bar or timecode box. Without these it takes forever to set chapter points manually or check key points throughout the movie.
b. If there are menus created, there isn't an autoplay option so disc will play automatically when first inserted. If you don't create menus, it will autoplay, but repeat in a continuous loop.
c. It doesn't allow different formats for top level (main menu) versus lower level chapter menus.

Another major weakness: The tech support is terrible. It takes 2-3 business days to get a useless response. The FAQs are not helpful.

Final advice: If you have broadband, definitely try the trial versions before making a purchase.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than Ulead VideoStudio & Pinnacle
I've only used the trial of this program, but it looks mostly good, I'm probably going to buy it.
In the trial, you can't burn or create menus, as that part of the program (EZProducer) isn't included in the trial. You can download PowerProducer as a separate trial from Cyberlink, which lets you create menus and burn DVDs, but this product wouldn't even play the MPEG created by Power Director. When you buy PowerDirector, EZProducer (which I believe is a lite version of PowerProducer), comes with it. PowerProducer is a program similar in functionality to Ulead DVD Movie Factory, minus some features, plus some other stuff.

The good points of Power Director - It combines the stability of Ulead with most of the features of Pinnacle. (I say most of because the produce movie/create menus part of it resembles Ulead Video Studio- ie you need to render the entire movie as an MPEG first and then create your menus after in a different program)
It also has the following advantages over Pinnacle (based on my use of studio 8)
Scene detection is only done when you choose to, not when opening the video file which is what Pinnacle does, causing my system to freeze.
You can adjust the colour/brightness contrast easily for each separate scene.
More animated titles to choose from.
It doesn't crash all the time.
It doesn't have any other issues unlike Pinnacle which has hundreds of them.
It has the following advantages over Ulead VideoStudio 6:
Ability to detect scenes even if you haven't selected the "detect scenes" option when capturing the video.
More flexible in what you can do with layout of scenes.
More flexible with titles & timeline features.
More easy to use than VideoStudio.
It has the following disadvantages:
Menu creating/burning functionality is not intuitive at all - When producing the movie, for compression settings you need to look at the "remainder" value shown and ensure it's below 4.7GB and I only found this out by guessing. You need to burn a "High Quality DVD" in order for the width/height values to be the correct proportions, and then you can change the compression so that your whole movie fits on the disc, again, not very easy to work out. Once you've "produced" the movie, the menu creation is performed in "EzProduer" or "PowerProducer". I tried using "power producer" but it wouldn't even play the video file.
However, you can then use another program, such as Ulead DVD Movie Factory (which I already own) to create the menus and burn the disc.

Please note:
I have not tried the capture options in the program, I had already captured the video using Ulead DVD Movie Factory. My trial of the program started when I opened the captured files in power director and ended when I "produced" the video files as a single mpeg as a seperate file on my computer (without menus yet) ...
