1-0 out of 5 stars Very Bad Product
Save your money, this product don't work. The input from my capture device is choppy and out of sync with audio. Support is worst than the product. would give it a lower rating, but this is the lowest I can give.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad
This program came bundled with my computer. It is pretty bad. It has limited features and I can't play DVD's on my JVC DVD Player recorded with this software. I tried DVD's and VCD's with programs like Showbiz 2 which is very good and with Movie Factory 3 and I can even play those in the play station 2. Also the video and sound skip a lot and it has pretty low quality. It was a major disappointment so I had to buy extra software. I Chose Movie Factory because it was cheaper, and of the same quality as showbiz, and also included burn now for recording data or music to disc. I even recorded some slide shows of my parent's recent trip to England on Movie Factory and they were very impressed. The program might work for you, but I wouldn't recomend it to any one, try the demos of other software you can download directly from the internet and then choose the one that works the best for you. Most video editing software offer free trials for up to a month.

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work
I have used WINDVD Creator for about a year and decided to upgrade to WINDVD Creator 2 Platinum. I purchased from Amazon because of my experience purchasing many items and the excellent price. I received the product and installed it and it doesn't work. The program "crashes" when making a DVD. I have tried repeatedly to contact InterVideo and have not received a response. I now have a piece of software that doesn't work and can find no technical assistance.

4-0 out of 5 stars home video tool
In short - this is a very good product.
I tested all the features and created all the formats with various types of files and EVERYTHING WORKED AS SPECIFIED!
VCD quality is surprisingly good - a perfect solution to transfer old home videos. SVCD discs are really just a little bit short of a DVD quality, too bad chapters cannot be created in this format.
The best of all are various DVD formats - you can put half an hour content on one regular 700MB disc - amazing! This is just perfect for your home movie studio.
DVD formats are standard, one hour - high quality, 2h - standard quality on one 4.7 Gb disc. For transfer of AVI files from a DV camcoder, it is good to select one hour disc option.
Editing and authoring tools may seem a little bit complicated until you try them, and then, you must love them.
Advanced features can be used for other purposes, if you have time to play with it (sound editing, etc.)

The reason why not 5 stars is simply support - the staff that respond to calls has a limited knowledge of their own product and this may frustrate power users.

User's guide is ok, but that too, could have been done better.

Generally, this is a very good product and I recommend it to all who'd like to quickly create professional quality home DVD's. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Big Bug
I installed this program twice on my computer to make sure and in both cases it caused big problems. I am still working to fix them.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Digital Music Organizer/Player/Recorder
I purchased a Diamond Rio and quickly realized I needed quality software to collect and organize mp3 songs (I've since switched over to a Nomad II and since Music Match has plug-in's for both I can use all the mp3 music I had organized for the Rio immediately with the Nomad II). One thing you find out when you start to accumulate a lot of mp3 files on disk is that the disk directory structure and directory and file names is important if you ever lose your database or want to move the files around on disk or to another disk (especially if you are going to "rip" a lot of CDs so you have them available to quickly download to a mp3 player). Music Match allows you to create a very organized disk directory structure to hold all your songs. For a given mp3 file ripped from a CD, the file is stored under the artist folder, then the album folder. This is more important that one would at first realize because it is often necessary to move the files around and then re-import them back into the music database. Music Match makes this trivial and it's easy to find your music on disk even if something happens to the Music Match database, you can just start over and import all or some of the files within minutes. This became very useful when I started to fill my hard drive and decided to use a re-writable CD in my CD burner to hold some of my music files. In a few minutes I was able to copy several complete artist directory structures to the CD, and re-import the songs back into the Music Match database. I guess I appreciated this all the more because I started off with Real Jukebox which stores all the mp3 files in a single directory by default and the original track order of a CD was lost once the CD was ripped so moving the files was tedious and retaining the original CD track order required creating a playlist for each CD (too much work!). Once you load the music to disk, Music Match lets you sort your songs by artist, album and original track order among others.

It's also very fast at ripping CDs and you can also burn new custom CDs from a playlist of mp3 files if you have a CD rom burner. This program really brings it all together. You can collect mp3 files either by download or ripping CDs. It's then easy to create playlist of any order to download to a mp3 player or burn a custom CD. This program is all you really need.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great piece of software
This is the tool for creating MP3s! It couldn't be easier and can do a whole Auido CD in around 10-15 minutes depending on the length of the CD. You can also access the web so you dont have to type in the track listing - this works really well.

The Recorder works and the player is good but is no Winamp. A nice thing about the player is that is has a lyric sheet for songs if you want to put the lyrics in (as well as a bio).

There is also a database for organising your songs and what I liked was the ability to convert Wave to MP3 and back again. I found this very useful when I wanted to integrate waves in other applications.

A very recommended product. Loses out on 5 stars as I still use Winamp as my Default player - but then Winamp does rock!

5-0 out of 5 stars Music Match beats the Real player Jukebox
After testing both this program and the Real player jukebox, I found this one to be the better of the two. The sound quality you get from this program beat the real player in almost every test. The recording speed is twice the speed of other programs and the net radio is the best I have heard. Plus any mp3 portable can be used with this program. I suggest you go to the music match website and check out all the specs. I dont think you will be disapointed. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

If you want to produce professional-quality CD labels, then look nofurther than Surething CD Labeler. It's a complete software kit that comes witha starter pack of CD labels and free applicator, plus a huge range ofpre-designed backgrounds and over 5,000 clip-art images. One of its main strengths, though, is it doesn't tie you to a single brand of labels as it will workhappily with virtually all known brands. Not only that, but CD Labeler candesign CD jewel-case inserts and labels for audio/video cassettes, floppy disks,DAT tapes, and even JAZ and ZIP disks.

It won't take long to produce your first design, as CD Labeler offers plenty ofWizard-based help--just select the product type and brand of label, browsethrough the supplied background designs, and use the SmartDesign tool which usesa range of templates to position a group of text and graphics objects ready foruse. If you don't like those supplied, you can easily add your own pictures orscan in images directly from CDs and jewel cases.

Text can be easily manipulated into angles, curves, balloons, and arches andthen given that special touch with shading, dropped shadows, and color-blendeffects. If you're not happy with the background, effects, or font, a variationbar underneath lets you cycle through the entire range on the fly until you findthe right one. You can even change the label stock in the middle of a project, and CD Labeler will resize it for you. --Dave Mitchell ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars best cd label/ jewel box label software available!
this is simply the best labeling software for cds. the only problem i had was that the manual was not that thourough. you really have to work with the software for awhile before you realize how all of the features work. for instance, when sizing an image for the jewel box front/back/etc., when you size it larger horizintally, it also increases the size vertically. you do not always want it to do this but after working with it for 3 months and being frustrated by this quirk, i realized through trial and error that you can right click on the image and uncheck the maintain aspect ratio box, and can then size anyway you like. i had been specificaly looking for this option since the day i started using it, the manual makes no mention of it. other than the sort of skimpy manual, this is a great program. the newer version 3.0 is now available for $... more, but i believe the only difference is that you can make cd labels that now go clear to the spindle hole. not that big of a deal, plus those labels cost more than the regular size. i've never misapplied a label either with the applicator, which is quite a clever little device compared to cd stomper etc, with their spring loaded applicators. i would rate 5 stars if the manual was more concise, but my advice is to buy this program (or version 3.0) if you are looking for the best label program available, just be prepared to work with it for awhile to discover all of it's features. you'll be glad you bought this and not memorex/neato/cd stomper etc.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product, But an IMPORTANT Warning!
I just received my SureThing CD Labeler Version 2.0. When I finished installation it took me to the SureThing website where I learned that Version 3.0 is now available. So this software is outdated before you even open the package. But when I called technical support, they quickly and gladly agreed to send me the new 3.0 Deluxe version once I faxed in my receipt. Sure enough, it arrived just days later. Now that's service!
Other than that, this software clobbers the competition. I've tried several other products, but none come close to providing the tools to create professional and creative CD labels.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome program
CD Labeler is a great program. It's simple to use, the graphics selections are terrific. If you've got an off brand label or jewel case insert it's simple to set up the page to fit what you have. I've long loved Web Express from Microvision, and CD Labeler is another testement to how fantastic that company is. Don't even bother looking at other label programs, you'll just waste your time. Get this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars No better Labeler software out there.
There are better sellers, but none of them come near this product. I would think that creating software to make labels for CDs wouldn't be a difficult thing to do, but it is. I've tried so many of the other products and they all manage to focus on ways to frustrate and aggravate me rather than just let me make labels.

Surething CD Labeler contains everything you need to make labels in the box, so long as you have a PC and Printer, within 10 minutes of installation. You don't even need to read the documentation as long as you have a general understanding of how most software works, especially desktop publishing software like Microsoft Publisher.

Included with the software are several sheets of Surething's own brand of labels and an applicator that does double duty as the CDs "jewel case". The applicator itself isn't nearly as bulky as other applicators and functions perfectly. The labels they include perform admirably, but I prefer Stick It Right Labels by Great Gizmos. (They have a gold tone backing that blocks all text or graphics on the CDs from showing through the label.) Which segues into one of the best features of Surething CD Labeler, it supports nearly every brand of label out there. Couple this with an enormous number of clipart, templates, and a very intuitive interface and you have the best labeler in the business today.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Software
Actually, 4.5 stars would have been about right. Software is very intuitive, does what it says, and says what it does. Has pretty good documentation, but you can create labels without even looking at it if you have a little bit of knowledge of how software works and what you want to do. It could use a few improvements in the text labelling part of the software, but what is there is adequate. All in all it works very well. I've used other labelers and the deficiencies in some of them are astounding. CD labeler has few. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Incomparable!
The newest version of SureThing's CD Labeler (V 3.0) is by far the best labeling software to date. With such advanced features as a Playlist Manager to help you manage your music collection, SmartDesigns templates, and CD-Text reading, MicroVision has certainly outdone themselves. The CD text reading is my favorite feature because if your burner supports CD text writing the tracks can be recognized and inserted into the label. Also, the deluxe version comes with hundreds of fantastic backgrounds as well as the ability to easily use your own backgrounds. Almost everything about this application is customizable from the startup options, toolbars, to the visual style of the label design area. In addition to all of this, SureThing CD Labeler 3.0 is compatible with many of the most popular types of labels. The kit even comes with a sample of SureThing's glossy full-faced CD labels which allows more of your background to be seen. If you want to create professional looking labels this program is a necessity.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best labeling program
I have used many different labeling programs and have struggled trying to make a great label. I purchased Surething and making a label takes minutes and looks great. There are hundreds of different backrounds that look great. Also, you do not have to shape the backround to fit a CD like you do with other programs. It is a simple click and go. This program cost a little bit more than other CD labeling progrmas but the money is well worth it. Surething is the only labeling program that allows you to use labels from other makers. This allows you to use labels from other programs that don't come close to the quality of Surething. A must buy!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars "Best Thing Since Sliced Bread"!!!
Need I say more.... SureThing is a sure thing. This product has everything you need for cd labeling. The software is fabulous. Tons of art work, backgrounds, etc. for creating a professional label and it is user friendly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Professional software at a shareware price
If you burn CDs, I can't recommend this software enough. The user interface is superb and professional. I was able to create my own CD labels with this app without ever reading the documentation; it's that intuitive and easy to use.

When you register online, you're given the opportunity to buy CD label supplies from them too. Go for it. Not only are their supplies cheap, but they work seamlessly with this application. Creating your own CD labels is painless with this program.

The software's publisher isn't charging enough for this app, in my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty and Professional
In a nutshell, no other CD labeling system is worth using. The Avery program is bare bones and CD Stomper has a limited set of templates. The Surething product is easy to use and the results are beautiful. The output from even a...inkjet printer, when coupled with the glossy labels, is stunning. ... Read more

I just bought this software today and could not get it to run properly. It seemed to install successfully. Amazon.com Review

CD LabelMaker is a simple, automatic tool for creating customlabels, and it successfully removes much of the painstaking setup workprograms like Photoshop or Illustrator include in the process. Whatyou're getting, essentially, is a prefabricated template ensuring thatthe printing process will be smooth.

Since the software is designed to handle only CD labels, covers, andinserts, it has a fairly basic tool set. However, it does offer controlover some text attributes: font, size, color, style, and drop shadowcolor and offset. It can also create text on a circular path forskirting the edge of a CD.

CD LabelMaker comes with a wide collection of clip art for backgroundgraphics, and it interfaces directly with a scanner for importingcustom-made graphics that are not yet in digital format. It can alsoimport most common file formats such as BMP, JPG, and TGA files.

If you are looking to design custom graphic artwork for CDs, this isnot the application. There are no facilities for drawing graphics, kerning text, or controlling tracking or leading of text. For trulycustom work, art must be created in another application and imported.CD LabelMaker's strength is in handling the mundane task of laying outthe artwork and making sure it prints in the right position on thelabels and insert paper. For this, it is ideal.

A major advantage CD LabelMaker has over using a full-fledged graphicsapplication is its low hardware requirements. For a busy departmentthat has a large number of one-off or short-run CD duplication jobs, this is the ideal package to use on that old computer that's buried ina back office or at the bottom of a closet. With this software and alow-cost ink-jet color printer, you can have a dedicated printingstation for all your CD labeling needs. It's a simple tool that workswell for most needs. --Mike Caputo ... 3-0 out of 5 stars CD Labelmaker : merely middling
Having managed to install the software eventually (warning to users of systems with already overpacked registries - it can do damage) I thought I'd try it out with a friend's compilation disk. The software is easy to use, although not particularly powerful. It comes with basic templates which are difficult to change too succesfully. The clipart provided is, as usual, awful, though you can import your own artwork. The tools provided don't give you much scope for artistic flair, with some basic text manipulation sadly missing. However, it works on low spec computers, and does it's job well. For basic labels it's really cheap and easy to use, though it's not right for professional designers who want more power and flexibility.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for What I Needed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fresh Toast!
I've been an avid user of Adaptec's disc burning software Toast for a little over a year. So I was a bit disappointed when Adaptec decided to let Roxio handle the production of the software. However, when upgrade season came around I still went out and bought myself a full copy of Toast 5. The program received a MAJOR overhaul and it was all for the best. New features include a shiny new interface and background burning. This means that now you can set your CD-RW to burn a CD and then use other software without fear that your machine will lock up or screw up your CD. It also boasts the ability to burn VCDs. There's only one con to the software... Background burning means that now my petty excuses to stop working during burning time are history... It's a superlative addition to your Mac burning needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great software even if it does cost money.
I won a "pc only" cdrw and was a little frustrated due the fact that it was from a mac contest. I got a copy of Toast Titanium and it was able to recognize even this unsupported cdrw and it works great.

Best features are backgound burning. You can actually use other applications while your cd burns. The latest update at the Roxio site supports CD text. So the song title will appear in the window of your CD player if you have that feature.

The manual is good and explains how to burn a bootable CD and a CD that will be recognized by a PC.

You also get CD SpinDoctor in the deal this will let you record tapes, vinyl, or anything else you plug into the audio in with the cord that is included in the box. If you update to the latest version of Toast Titanium you will have to update CD SpinDoctor, too (or it will break).

There's a CD label software include as well.

Summary: Easy to use, good manual, background burning, CD text support. CD copy button to make copying really easy.

5-0 out of 5 stars May be preferable to Toast 6
Apple's iTunes does fine by burning CD's, but Toast is handier for burning and copying non-musical files and documents. In fact, Toast 5, with the bundled Spin Doctor, is the only way to go if you're converting analog to digital and editing out "dead space" and other objectionable noise on the wave forms. Toast 6, on the other hand, includes an "improved" Spin Doctor (v. 2) that makes the aforesaid editing a laborious, imprecise, and impractical exercise. If you're planning to do manual editing of extended audio tracks--a radio broadcast, for example--forget about Toast 6. But now you have another messy problem: Toast 5 is not designed for OSX, and Roxio no longer offers as a download the necessary upgrade to make Spin Doctor, v. 1, compatible with OSX.

The solution? Go with Toast 5 and use it in OS9. Or switch to a shareware program like Sound Studio (more complicated and time-consuming than Spin Doctor). Or switch to a PC and pick up Cool Edit.

2-0 out of 5 stars ripped off
I bought toast 5 to burn my vinyl onto CD.
It came with SpinDoctor.
I was promised a FREE upgrade to OSX. When I upgraded my OS, I went to download the upgrade. Though Toast 5 could be upgraded, Spin Doctor was not available. After weeks of waiting, I got a response from Roxio saying that SpinDoctor was no longer available from them. I wrote several letters. They offered no remedy, just kept me waiting, but oh yes, they would be happy to SELL me a copy of Toast 6 with the new component that replaces SpinDoctor and is OSX compatible. Boy do I feel ripped off. Toast worked great, but I will never trust Roxio again. I certainly don't want to give them any more money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Mac users
Great overall for Macs. I got this software mainly due to the fact that iPhoto does not allow for multisession burning. Using this software allows me to achieve this although it not as easy as I originally thought (nothing is as easy as using Mac software - oh well). Also, I had some problems making cross-platform (Mac/PC) discs.
Additionally, the included Discus software is pretty good for making labels. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Professional CD's at Home!
Sonic Foundry's CD architect goes far beyond the standard home CD burning fare. While simple enough to drag and drop files to burn, it also enables you to control every aspect of making a cd. You can crossfade between tracks, remove gaps, or lengthen gaps between individual songs. Users can blend songs into each other, while keeping them separate tracks (great for live cd's). You can even edit the songs themselves before you burn! The best part is that you can master the level of the tracks that you record. This is crucial for musicians and anyone who downloads music from the internet. Rather than always turning up the volume on your stereo when you listen to your own cd's, you can make your cd's sound like they came straight from the studio. ... Read more

Great package of software from Roxio. Does everything you need to create CD's on your computer! Recommended!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Product Ever
If you are thinking of buying this item, I would strongly reconsider. It doesn't work. The one I bought was not new, it was on a verbatim CD-R and did not come with a CD key to activate it. Roxio themselves said that I was not suppose to have it. Save yourself the money and don't buy this product. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy Way to Show Family Photos
I am scanning in family heirloom photos and wanted a way to share them with other family members. This software allows you to create photo albums to show on your computer. It is very easy to use. If you can use Windows Explorer, you can be up and running very easily. Things I liked best about it: 1. Most important is that you can create self-executable CDs so that you can give away a CD of your digital photo album that will open up and run on almost any computer. 2) The pictures you put into it are retained as individual files in their original format (.jpg, .tif, etc.) so that you or someone else can copy them later to use in other programs, 3) photos can be printed from the CD you create and can be viewed full screen size one at a time. 4) you can add text pages, blank pages and bookmarks to your album. It includes a small selection of music and album covers. The most serious shortcoming is that to arrange the photos you need to drag and drop and can't cut and paste. Any new photo added goes to the last page until you drag and drop to a different location in the album. If you have 400 photos, dragging and dropping is very labor intensive and difficult, making it desirable to name your photos in a way that you can organize them before moving them to the Flipalbum software (for example the file name would start with a number). Were it not for this drawback I would have given it a 5. The number of photos you can add is only limited by the capacity of CD or other storage. NOTE; that you must have a CDRW and software separate from this program in order to create the CDs. All in all, though a really simple easy to use program. Even if better software comes along later and you don't use it anymore, the time learning and creating the photo albums is short enough that it's worth using in the meantime. ... Read more
