2-0 out of 5 stars Slow proxy servers and flawed wireless security feature
I bought this program for the wireless security feature that lets you encrypt the data sent via your laptop's wireless signal to Anonymizer's servers. I thought this would be a useful security feature when accessing bank accounts and other sensitive information from my laptop computer. Unfortunately, Anonymous Surfing does not work with banking websites since they are unable to place a valid security certificate (remember, the traffic is being routed via Anonymizer's proxy servers, so the website cannot place the certificate on your computer). For that reason, I can only access banking websites with Anonymous Surfing turned off, which in my eyes defeats one of the most important purposes for having a wireless security feature.

Another gripe is that Anonymous Surfing will slow down the speed at which webpages are loaded, which is particularly noticeable with a broadband internet connection. I guess Anonymizer's proxy servers are just not able to relay pages quickly enough to your computer.

Given that the program REQUIRES AN ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION FEE of $29.99 (first year of service is included witht he program), I'll rather save that money and continue to access my banking and financial websites via a wired connection. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!!
Unfortunately I couldn't rate this product as ZERO. From the time I installed this software on my computer, it started acting strangely: computer freezes, crashes, etc. To top this off it directed me to a bogus Microsoft Update site. Eventually, I couldn't even access my ISP. Needless to say, I uninstalled this crap from my computer right away. But who's to say that I won't continue to have problems in the near future. This is what happens when you install products from shady characters. Pay no attention to the positive feedback on this product, but if you are a gambler and can afford to destroy your computer of sacrifice your security, then go on ahead and install this on your system. Be forewarned, however, that your risk will be high.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent AV, easy-to-use interface, with phone support!
Now, almost all AVs program are memory suckers! Among Norton, McAfee and other AVs, Pc-cillin is least sucker! So, think twice before you upgrade your AV or try something else instead of purchasing a update if you are running a old pc like me.
I guess, all AVs developers are running new PCs like Intel P4 3Gz on Windows XP, and expecting everyone to upgrade your pc sooner or later.
In general, pc-cillin is easy-to-use in interface, with free phone support. McAfee has only internet support while norton charges for phone support.
I was using McAfee since 2000, and never satisfied with their product. I was forced to switch to Pc-cillinwhen I purchased McAfee 2005 upgrade because it sucked all my RAMs. Also, because of my out-of-dated McAfee firewall, hacker penetrated my McAfee 2005 upgrade and stole my password, blocked me from receiving any further update from McAfee server. McAfee has the worst update mechanism, and I must set internet explorer to accept ActiveX and cookies(which let the hacker to control my machine easily),then login first to their McAfee server in order to receive upgrade. So, the hacker got my McAfee password, free update right for a year, and I was left unprotected at all. No wonder, I heard lots of people can get free McAfee AV updates year after year even though they need to login first to McAfee server.
Pc-cillin do updates like Norton simple and direct!!!
The only thing I would like pc-cillin to add on is something like McAfee Visual Trace so that I can easily identify the intruders instead of a IP address.
Antispy is also weak, neither do Norton, McAfee and other AVs.
It is so far an excellent AV product in the market.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible
I had high hopes for this product, the newest version of PC-Cillin.
It effectively had it all from the virus protection,spam/spyware protection,a firewall, and more.
I have used older versions of PC Cillin from the very early #3 Version right up through to the 2000 version. It was up until that time the best anti virus software I had ever used.I loved its' ease of use,it didn't used much computer resource and ran in the background doing its' job admirably catching more than a few unwanted visitors over time.
As soon as I installed this program(full, with all options) it immediately had the effect of slowing EVERYTHING in my system down to a crawl as well as at times freezing it(especially when updating the pattern file). It also wouldn't allow various functions to run especially the ScanDisk. The program also seemed to be constantly writing to the drive for some reason or rather, you could clearly hear the indicative "grinding"...so much for this version using little resource and running quietly in the background.I knew immediately this wasn't the "good old days".
I uninstalled it and re-installed the so-called "light" version(just the basic real-time scan anti virus feature-which in itself is kind of a waste considering everything that this program has built into it) to see if that would change anything. Not a chance.
I run Windows 98 and have a 1.2GB P3 chip with about 384 of RAM.
My system flies and I had never experienced such a "slowing" on my system until this moment. The blurb for the product on Amazon AND on the package states it's supposed to run on such a system as mine.
From the get-go I was in immediate contact with Trend Micro "support" both on the phone AND through days of back and forth e-mails.Firstly DO NOT expect the person on the other end to know sweet diddly about.....well,anything( I went through about four different people with no difference). They all want YOU to work for THEM by creating a so called 'debug log' and send it to them, who in turn will pass it on to their tech department. They will tell you that they will analyze the data and get back to you within (first day, actual answer)"three hours" or (second day)"before the end of the day" or third day, well you get the idea. They never did get back.No amount of pestering by phone or email could get any concrete answers.
One of the last things I was able to get from one operator was that thereappeared to be no apparent conflict on my system but they didn't know what could be causing my problem and they were still working on it.
I eventually had to get off the "merry-go-round" and give up.
In the end it screwed my system up so much(with so many installs and un-installs and taking out other unrelated programs to see if they would have any effect good or bad) that I had to eventually wipe my hard drive and start fresh. It is now back functioning the way it was before, and the "problem"?.....well I guess PC-Cillin is still "working on it".I have never heard back. Some "support" eh?
I phoned Amazon and explained the situation and they graciously,as ever, offered a refund on the product.I have indeed taken them up on the offer with many thanks and returned the product.
In conclusion if you have a Win/98 system I would advise EXTREME caution if you intend to get this product. Not only for what the product has done to MY system and could do to yours but for the deplorable LACK OF SUPPORT for the product.Due to this very unpleasant experience I will NEVER buy or use another Trend product ever again.
As for others with Win/2000 and higher? I honestly cannot say whether it will or will not work on your system but please for your own sakes be absolutely certain before you purchase this.Better safe than sorry. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great System
I have been a mandrake customer since 7.1. I think this is by far the best flavor of linux on the market.
reason 1 - It is easy to install, I use my whole hard drive but I have also partitioned with it before. Diskdrake is a very good tool.
Reson 2- The package selection is great. I am not going to list them here, you can check it out at mandrakes web site.
Reason 3 - It is easy to use for both the newbie and the advanced linux user. The mandrake control center has everything under one manager, that make it easy to custumize your system.
reason 4- It is easy to update.
If you are looking to switch to linux, or if you are looking for a good distro, this is the best one.
lastly I have a computer i have run mandrake on for 5 years without one problem. Unlike some other operating systems I have used. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Different distros have different strengths
Here is an update of what I've decided:

I use Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a home desktop OS because that is what we use at work. Also Red Hat is very strong if you are going to run it as a server - not as a workstation. If you do programming with non-gcc compilers, like Intel's compiler, Red Hat is a good distro because it has strong compiler support (by Intel). Some people have trouble getting Intel's compiler to work right on a Debian based system like Xandros. But SUSE would be fine in this regard. Also, Red Hat gives virtually no worthwhile phone or email support. But I doubt the other distros give any worthwhile support either. You can also get about the same thing from Red Hat by getting their free Fedora edition. Red Hat's new Wide Open magazine will help you learn more about this and other Red Hat packages, but again you won't get any hand holding. I'm not sure they even print a decent book any more, just giving you that annoying pdf file edition that you have to scroll back and forth and never know where you are at or where anything is and can't make any notes in.

I'm thinking now for a desktop distro for the Windows type lover, Xandros might be the best distro. It doesn't change very often, and they have concentrated on the desktop, rather than on the server like Red Hat. However, Xandros only works on 386 architecture, whereas Red Hat supports AMD64, Opteron, Itanium, and other CPU chips. So don't get it if you are a engineering type person who is dreaming about doing serious 64 bit computation at home someday, or a gamer who whats 64 bits.

SUSE falls somewhere in between. I think as a desktop product it is a bit better than Red Hat. It has fairly good non-gcc compiler support. It works well as a server, but not as strong as Red Hat.

1-0 out of 5 stars Redhat Professional Workstation
If you purchase this particular type of WS, you are going to lose $100.00, there is not great differences between Redhat 9.0
and Fedora Core 1,2, anybody is able to get them for free,Rednat support is lousy,it is like talking to a wall, you have to provide your own support, the updating procedures are lousy too,and they can be obtained thru the internet, you will be getting less features than in the old personal and professional box,4032 packages compared to 6,632 from Fedora, it is a big difference, no more books, no more DVD disks. It is time to move to another distro like Suse or Mandrake that even provide better customer service, if you do not like their products, you obtain an RMA, it can be returned to them, win RedHat PWS, your money is gone to the trash, it is not the old Professional set, it is the personal set with network updating, it is not their enterprise software neither, it is only named like that, but it is the same old personal set that will cost you more money, and if you want to read about it, you must spend $55.00 more dollars to buy a book from a book vendor

1-0 out of 5 stars No software is available
After purchasing this software I quickly found out
that you are your own 'support' person. If some
application does not work, then you have to search
on the internet, or user forum. I don't know about
you but I do NOT trust complete strangers on the
internet. It is like inviting someone into your
house you don't know. If you want to use Adobe you
can forget it because they do not make any software
for Linux. And several other popular Windows apps that
are not there. So in the end I wound up buying a MAC, at
least there is software available and MS Office!

1-0 out of 5 stars Too much trouble
If time was money I would be a rich woman after spending hours with my pc thanks to linux. It is about as easy getting devices to work as have dental work without numbing medication. Whoever states that Linux is cheaper to run than Windows does not own a business. It costs more money in the fact it never works right or you have a application crash with a 'SEGV' error. AGGRRR, I think now I have some very expensive coasters for drinks... I am going back to Windows something that WORKS!

1-0 out of 5 stars Outdated and did not work correctly
For what this redhat workstation cost me, one would think that it would work like it should. Software patches, how many bugs can this Redhat have, I have never seen so many patches to download in my life. I spent hours downloading and the system would hang up and quit responding! How any can say this is worth 5 starts, maybe a NEGATIVE 5 rating!

This has to be the biggest over-rated bunch of NON-working software I have ever purchased. If you liked Windows 3.1 then this is for you. Not only that at least Windows has applications, this Redhat has a bunch of apps that don't work, or you can't figure them out...... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for home and office!
Great product. Software identifies all "deleted" files and allows for permanent removal from hard drive. Also finds personal information, which otherwise was considered secure. An obsolute must for anyone working with sensitive data. Apparently, MS Windows and security are foreign concepts to each other.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Program

1-0 out of 5 stars You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!
Got some spyware on my cpu so a retailer suggested this product as it advertises right on the box: "disable spyware." Well I loaded it up and guess what? It didn't work at all. So I tried to get support and found out that I had to pay an additional $9.95 for this company to support this product. Then when I called, a recording told me no one was available at this extention, but I could leave a voice mail message. Obviously, don't buy this product.

1-0 out of 5 stars No Tech Support
I installed this program on my computer yesterday. The first day it seemed okay. I still got pop-ups but I figured I had to do the whole reboot thing. Today I logged onto my computer and couldnt access the internet. Tried to open the program but it wouldnt open at all. The book refers to tech support at a website but I couldnt access the Internet.

If you want phone help its $9.95.

The one positive thing I can say is that the websurfing - for the day I had it was anonymous. Only seemed to slow down a little bit when using it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good virus scanning, same old Norton utils, bad password mgr
I should give this 2-stars, but overall the product suite is generally easy to use and has many useful features.

The virus scanning just works. If you are upgrading from an older version with an active subscription, expect some hassle in getting NOrton to extend your subscription. I eventually got mine extended.

The utilities are basically the same ones that have been around for the last 5 years. But I got this for the password manager. BUYER BEWARE! Although the pwd manager seems somewhat easy to use, it is FAR FROM PERFECT. It frequently fails to fill in web page usernames and passwords that I have told it about before. I have had to reset the manager many times, retraining it each time for all web sites that I login to. When it works, it is great. But if you intend to rely upon this as a "set it and forget it" type of product, then be forewarned. Keep your old passwords and usernames around even after you start using this. You will likely need to type them in again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sticking With It
I have used Norton products for the past few years and have been very satisfied. It is for this reason that I decided to stay with Norton when I updated my utilities suite. Shortly after installing SystemWorks 2004, I started having problems with my computer. The time it took for my computer to boot up seemed to double. I received several error messages regarding Windows and, finally, Windows wouldn't start at all. I had to re-install my operating system (Windows XP). I had problems printing, programs would hang, CDs and DVDs wouldn't run correctly, and the music I had downloaded to my computer several months ago wouldn't play properly. There is nothing wrong with my computer; it's not even a year old yet and it is a powerful system. I had everything checked on it just to be sure and the computer itself is fine.

It took a while to figure it out but Norton Antivirus seems to be the culprit. No matter what settings I use, the computer will not operate properly as long as Norton Antivirus is enabled. I have finally got to the point where I can go online and work on one or two documents with the antivirus enabled, but usually I have to disable it for the computer to work as it should. Playing CDs or DVDs, or listening to music is not possible with the antivirus enabled. Of course, with Norton disabled, that means I can't go online; that just wouldn't be safe. So, I have to completely disconnect (remove the plug from the computer itself) from the Internet and then disable Norton for everything to run smoothly.

I'm not a computer whiz so I don't know exactly what the problem is but I have learned to work around it. I thought about switching to McAfee but I truly don't believe McAfee is as good a product as Norton. Norton Utilities works like a charm when it comes to finding and fixing system and disk problems. Norton Cleansweep is great at removing unneeded files. I access the internet through my cable service so I don't need Connection Keep Alive which prevents dropped dial-up connections. As for Password Manager, I don't keep any personal, confidential information on my computer, not even passwords. Nothing is foolproof so if a hacker does manage to get to my computer, he won't find anything interesting. And even though Norton Antivirus is giving me problems, I still think it is a great tool at finding and removing threats from your PC.

I'm hoping that Norton will be able to work out the glitches with SystemWorks 2004 and that everything will be back on track for SystemWorks 2005. In the meantime, I'm just living with a slow computer and a few hassles.

1-0 out of 5 stars Can't Use My USB Card Reader Anymore
I have Norton Systemworks 2003 and it worked well on my XP computer. Tried to install Sytemworks 2004 3 times and everytime, I could not use my USB card reader anymore. I do not have the time to fiddle with the settings to get this to work. I cannot even just install the Antivirus portion only without it uninstalling the entire Systemworks 2003 and not just updating the Antivirus. I am now back to 2003 and wondering if I should go with McAfee.

1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!!
This software conflicts with Easy CD DVD Creator 6, but to find that out is not easy. After six hours on the phone (mostly spent waiting), their tech support finally revealed this. Read other reviews on the 'net!! Installation of both on your computer may corrupt registry files!! I had to re-format the drive and re-install software. Then, when trying to re-activate NSW 2004, the fun began with their lack of support. Repeated attempts by Symantec to re-activate the software have been 100% unsuccessful. Both Symantec customer and tech 'support' are basically unavailable due to high load. Extremely frustrating to deal with. I am switching to McAfee and hoping for the best.....

5-0 out of 5 stars Great program
This is the best program I have ever purchased. I have 5 computers and it keeps them all at their best performance. I have never had any problems. Don't listen to the person that said there is a W32.SymantecNSW2004Pro.Worm. That's 100% grade A B/S. It's a resault of a lack of real computer knowledge. I searched multiple virus databases including mcafee, symantec, and 25 others and I found NO REAL VIRUS! That is a hoax. There used to be a supposed virus that put itself in your windows folder. It had an icon of a teddy bear and was named setdebug. You delete that file and you are gonna have of heck of a time trying to fix it, thats a required system file. So don't listen to every non-since thing you hear and do the reasearch yourself. As for all you McAfee people lookin' to switch, this is a good choice. I fix computers for my friends all the time, I have had to wipe 5 viruses off Daves computer. You know why? He uses McAfee, updates it every week. I'm sorry to say but McAfee just isn't as good protection. Only virus probelms I have ever encountered are on McAfee users. And another thing, I bought a new Dell about 4 months ago. System works found and fixed over 200 errors, fresh out of the box! No joke, Mcafee came on it sucked way more memory than Norton. My old win 98 was faster (p3 733mhz vs. p4 2.8ghz) thats sad. With norton that thing is runing a lot faster, without it I would have been screwed. If your having memory problems, uses START -> Run -> msconfig and download adaware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and run some scans with clean sweep and One button checkup. Don't let other people tell you lies about products, get your info from a relyable source and always check it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Simply awful
My husband was so frustrated with MANY problems that he finally uninstalled the whole mess. Even getting it off his machine took 2 days. For the first time in his life, he considered suicide.

It slowed my PC down (and I have a new AMD). I cannot access IE without disabling Internet Security Professional (this started out of the blue a couple months ago). I'm afraid to even try to uninstall it. I'll probably end up taking it in to a shop and having them uninstall it - and paying.

I will never buy from Norton again. I thought Norton was supposed to have a reputable product. It's trash.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product... With One Exception... Caveat Emptor
For the past several years I have used various Symantec/Norton products. Furthermore, as an IT professional I typically recommend their products to family and friends, primarily because of the User Friendly consoles.

However, as my subscription was about to expire for updates, I recently upgraded to Norton Internet Security Professional 2004 (NISP2K4) from 2003 (non-Pro) . I encountered a problem which I have found to be fairly common among folks who use multiple user profiles on their machines. I found users of 2000, XP Home, and XP Pro were all affected.

I am running XP Professional w/ three (3) user profiles (one work related, one for personal use, and one for wife). Each profile has it's own separate e-mail account set up in Outlook.

Before loading NISP2K4, I was not experiencing any problems. Following the installation, whenever I start Outlook after switching profiles, I receive the message listed below:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftOffice\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

Troubleshooting Steps: I initially performed an Uninstall (including shared files) and then performed a Custom Install, selecting a single configuration for all profiles on the machine. Still receiving error messages.

Conducted the following Google search: (Norton Internet Security 2004 Outlook Runtime Error terminate)

Based upon some of the postings I read, this is a widespread and common problem with users of machines with more than one profile. I found a work around which disables the Norton Anti Spam toolbar, but still am seeking permanent solution which would leave the toolbar intact and not generate the error message.

If this problem is not resolved soon and integrated into future updates of Internet Security Pro 2004, I hope it will be integrated into the 2005 release and since I complained we might receive a free upgrade.

Sitting here thinking about it a little more, I realize that the problem may be specifically with the Anti-Spam portin of the suite. Will update with any responses I get from Symantec/Norton Tech Support.

As they say, Caveat Emptor... Buyer Beware!

5-0 out of 5 stars Gives meaning to the word 'safe'
This is very good. My pc has never been faster, and more safe. Plus you get Norton Antivirus Professional 2004 for free with this! Very good protection and regularly updated. Firewall gets a Truestealth rating on Gibon Research's ShieldsUp! test (https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2).
Only problem with the popup blocker (which works just fine by the way) is that some sites that use popups to navigate don't work. Luckily you can define not only what sites should be allowed to display popups, but also what PART of the site. It is possible to have the main site display popups and another part blocked.
I have seen people having problems with installing it. The problem seems to be that after installing and rebooting the program does not start, only a tray icon with a red cross. Pointing at this icon causes it to dissapear. Also, it is impossible to activate and register the program. I have a solution so more people can enjoy this fine program (cause you shouldn't expect much help from Symantec)
This solution only works for Windows XP. Sorry...
First, uninstall EVERY Symantec program you've got. After you are CLEAN of those programs, do the following:

A. C:\Program Files\Symantec (this could already be removed)
A. C:\Program Files\Common Files. Delete the Symantex Shared map.
C. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data. (If Application Data isn't visible, enable 'view hidden files in Map options). Delete the Symantec map COMPLETELY.

D. Each account that the programs have been used on also have files (check all of them). See C:\Documents and Settings\(enter user-name here)\Application Data. Delete the Symamtec map.
E. ****These are register deletes. It is advisable to make a backup before you do this****
Open the Regedit (type Regedit in the Execute window(or whatever that is in English, I have a Dutch version). (Or go to Task Manager, New Task, and typ Regedit).
Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE. Delete the Symantec map.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE and delete the Symantec map here.

I would do a reboot at this point. After that, install Internet Security. This time, the registration window will appear.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Product For Developers..
The "Norton/Symantic" Shepard is much worse than the "Adware" Wolf. If you are a developer or need access to local development tools such as IIS, DON'T INSTALL THIS PRODUCT. I'm sorry I didn't read the Amazon reviews before I installed. It'll kill your machine's speed, IIS localhost and you'll either have to reformat OR IF YOUR LUCKY Restore to an earlier restore point. - (thanks to windows XP restore). I was lucky. Worst part is that there's no way to get a refund. I can't imagine how a large company like Symantec could put out such an ill conceived product - and even worse - a very sick help-and-support department. Talk about internet wolves. Get McAffee for antivirus and ZoneAlarm for Internet Security. Much better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Norton support has really deteriorated
I am on Amazon tonight to look up alternatives to Norton Anti-Virus because of their poor maintenance. (They have outsourced their maintenance, I think to India, and there is such difficulty and so many emails exchanged to try to get understanding and answers that I eventually just gave up on the anti-spam package and will never buy it again. I have had better results with the corporate version of anti-virus, but even with the business edition I have to wait very lengthy times to get to a customer service representative, but the ones I have gotten have been really great. But they are sitting at a phone right here in the USA. I have been a long time giving up on Norton because of past history. I started with windows back in the days of Windows 3.1 and Norton had wonderful software that filled the gaps in Windows and made the Windows experience better. I was also treated extremely badly when I tried to complain to the corporate/sales people about my dislike of and disapproval of outsourcing. The person ultimately hung up when I asked that my comments be relayed to her superiors. All of that being said, I feel my instincts were right and I am not even going to consider Norton, especially for a combination product. I also feel that the quality of the products are worse. They used to be much easier to configure and get working. These problems started before their firewall product, but that one was a particularly difficult product to deal with compared to many products in Norton's pass. Well, ultimately even a very loyal customer like me has to wonder whether it is time to give up. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Slow, very slow
The latest IHateSpam version 4 is VERY slow compared to the previous version 3.2. I use it with Outlook 2002 and it takes about 15 minutes to filter out 80 or so spam messages I usually get when I turn on my laptop in the morning. Version 3.2 took only 2 minutes. It is hawking up so much resources that everything comes to a crawl when the filter is running. The fan has to come on for several times to cool the cpu down. On the positive side, its accuracy seems to have improved a bit. It misses only 3 spams after the fitering is done versus the old version that misses about 8 out of the 80 spams. The bottom line - I would go back to version 3.2 or look for a better spam filter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spam?? What Spam??
Since I started using this product I have no more spam and it never ever catches my good email. I get 300+ spam messages a day and it catches all of them. Awesome product, and it's dirt cheap!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Outlook anti-spam tool out there!
iHateSpam not only blocks the lion's share of spam I receive, it also allows me to send a (convincing but fake) bounce message and/or report spam abuse to various authorities. iHateSpam also allows the user to easily tag a sender/domain as a friend or enemy and black/whitelist them accordingly. The program is easy to install and configure out of the box, and allows for extensive tweaking to make it work the way you want it to. As a network sysadmin who is very conservative about introducing new software in a corporate environment, I consider iHateSpam to be the most stable, user-accessible and empowering anti-spam software currently available, and have recommended it for corporate use without hesitation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid 95% Spam Detection out of the box
Really impressed by the 95% spam accuracy out of the box. With the bayesian training i have it catching close to 99% of the spam, with 0 legitimate email being caught. I'm a linux guy at heart, but on windows and Outlook (corporate sh**t) IhateSpam is awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hate Spam - Love this product
This product works great with Outlook - even from behind my company's firewall. There's hardly any installation, and it catches about 95% of the spam (about 75 a day for me).

I have noticed that my system has slowed down at times and even crashed on a few occassions, but this seems to be a common issue with spam software and has not been a real problem.

Easily worth the money - you can also try it out for free. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best PIM software for the Mac
Personal Organizer is by far the most powerful yet user friendly personal information manager that exists for the Mac platform. It runs flawlessly on OS9 through OS 10.3.Lets touch upon a few of this program's many strengths: ability to display multiple views (month, week, day, notes, custom lists) simultaneously; ability to assign multiple categories to names, appointments, to-dos and memos; ability to make individual entries private to avoid unintended viewing of sensitive data; ability to link calandar entries to individual contact entries; and reliable synchroniztion to Palm compatible organizers. It also has a daily journal feature. The main drawback is that the software has not been updated in two years, which makes one wonder if any future updates are forthcoming and how that might impact future software/hardware compatibility issues.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but poor customer service
Excellent software - did not need an update since installing it under OSX 10.0 or 10.1, now running under 10.3.4 - and it outperforms rival products. Many options, customizable, rich in features.
However, the company never responds to questions, does not provide holiday calendars (you can make them yourself, but that's not a strong point obviously), and it did not provide updates in the last two years. Forf example, the export / import facility is in need of improvement (Address Book...).

They have started to advertize their product aggressively - I hope, they will now also do something with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent organizer for Mac
At first, I was overwhelmed by all this could do but quickly caught on and fell in love with it! Lots of helps to get the most out of this fully customizable organizer. A must for anyone who uses mac and who loves efficiency. Highly recommended software. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it
I realy enjoy WeatherBug, because everything is local. I live in Baltimore and my favorite local TV station is ABC2, which has the best weather report in my mind. I saw WeatherBug and ABC2 use the same weather stations and share radar and forecast. I don't know what relationship they have, but they certainly help me to prepare for the day...

1-0 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment
Our new WeatherBug Plus is apparently permanently in ad-supported mode.A local television station is advertised in the upper right-hand corner of the program. A first email to customer support garnered a response complete with a place from which to redownload the program, which did nothing to solve the program, nor did I need this information since I have the program on CD anyway.

One week later I am still waiting to hear a response to my second email; the ad is still there. In sum, it is NOT ad-free insofar as I can tell, and customer support has turned out to be useless.Perhaps all Plus-versions have some advertising despite their claims.Beats me!

So if you don't mind the ads, buy it, but ours is going back to the store.

5-0 out of 5 stars We use WeatherBug in our School
We have a WeatherBug weather station on our school's roof, we also use WeatherBug in our class. I am the Weatherman for every Monday. I make the prediction right 90% of the times.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful program to have
