5-0 out of 5 stars Every Mac is an Island
My gal Sara bought this because she's been a Mac person forever (I'm a former Window's person, who's made the switch) and has been used to using ResEdit to design her own icons under System 7 through 9. So now she's at it again, changing, rearranging and creating icons and I have to say, it's infectious. Who says the boys in Cupertino have to have the last say on what your desktop is going to look like. Want Microsoft Word to appear as a devil on the screen. You got it. You also get a thousand free icons with the program to start. Good ones. Macs have always been unique, now they are more so. Thumbs up from me for CandyBar Plus.

4-0 out of 5 stars This one's a winner. Check it out.
It was really cool how this CDROM was put together. Very user friendly & easy to install & run. You can hear the finished product, watch the guitar tabs to see how it is played with adjustable MIDI Music control to speed it up or slow it down. Mute the part you want to play & jam along with the band. Cool stuff! It also includes a brief history of the song & the artist, which is always interesting.

If I had had this type of instruction as a teen I probably wouldn't have sucked so bad as a musician. I would have been able to better keep up my interest & enthusiam because CDROMs like this provide continuous access & infinite patience in teaching the more difficult songs & unique styles. I always learned from friends who gave me 5 minutes, then walked.

Granted this CD includes a diverse, "something-for-everyone" approach adding classical & country tunes to rock & blues. For that I only gave it four stars & also because there is no clip of the musician actually playing the guitar on the Demo like Voyetra's "Teach Me Rock Guitar". But it must be conceded that Voyetra could only fit four songs on their CD while this one has 21 diverse tunes. eMedia website also provides good software support for these guitar series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product!
This CDROM has it all. Music, TAB, play along with either the MIDI version of the song OR the audio version. The audio versions have track muting capability so you can mute the vocal or the Guitar or Bass. The nicest feature is the animated fret board so you if you don't know a chord or aren't that familiar with playing lead in the 7th position: have no fear, this feature cuts right through all of that. This CDROM is formatted for Windows AND Mac: which makes ordering easier too! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars No more beginner's books! ** WORKS WITH THE MAC! **
Forget beginner's books! Save your money and buy this program, the ability to play along with the computer while you watch the notes/chord progression alone is something that no book/ audio cd will ever match. The way the lessons are presented is excellent, giving visual types like me direct re-enforcement on what the lesson is all about by giving you follow-along examples, and most importantly encouraging you to improvise and experiment. I've been learning the bass on and off for a couple of years and while I can already play along with many songs and improvise a bit I have found even the most basic lessons in this program to be very useful. I'm really looking forward to the sight reading section of the course! Highly recommended! If #2 is ever issued I'll buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a CD-ROM for bass!
My friend really liked eMedia's guitar CD-ROM, so I got their Bass Method the second I saw it at Circuit City. The lessons were easy to follow and the videos had demonstrations for both the left and right hands. The coolest feature has to be the ability to remove the bass and jam with the band in great songs like Knockin' on Heaven's Door. I'm almost good enough to jam with my friend. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't beat this suite of diverse and creative games
I really can't say enough about this package of creative games: Bugdom 2, Cro-Mag Rally, Billy Frontier, Enigmo, and Otto Matic. Each game has its own style and theme; the diversity is outstanding. All of them demonstrate the same quality of graphics, music and versatility of action as the original Bugdom. Since I loved that software, this package wasn't a hard sell for me. Brian Greenstone of Austin, Texas is the owner of Pangea Software which recently incorporated in 1999. He contracts artists and musicians, so it makes sense that some of the products in this package have a distinct look and feel. The background style, weaponry, and action of Bugdom 2 and Otto Matic, are reminiscent of Bugdom, yet the games are different enough that they have an element of excitement, mystery and surprise. I was drawn into each new level of each game with "so, what's going to happen here?!" I love games with a quest and I love exploring new frontiers within each level. All of the games were rated high by the gaming magazines and most have downloadable demos on the internet for folks to sample before investing in the pack. All in all, the total price for each game purchased separately is $115, so the Super Pack is quite the bargain. I can't imagine how many hours of great exploration this package might offer. It would be a great gift for older children on travel with their laptops (ok, with their parent's laptops!).

Bugdom 2 revolves around Skip, the grasshopper (at least I think that's what it is) who loses his knapsack to a bad bug right in the opening scene. On his quest to retrieve his sack he has adventures with snails, friendly talking chipmunks, white rats caught in mouse traps, water toys, and garden gnomes (you know, those ugly little statues in English gardens). There's even more bad and good bugs, but that should give you a flavor for this rich and varied landscape. I had trouble sewer-surfing and still haven't mastered the last few levels, but found this game to be equal to the original in fun and required skill.

Otto Matic is a space nightmare over ten different planets or levels. The Giant Brain from Planet X is determined to take over the universe and the player, in the form of an otto matic robot, of course, is out to save humans and escape in his/her rocket ship (Thanks, Brian Greenstone, for not making this one gender -specific). There are 25 different space creatures and many different weapons in this colorful and action-packed game. The robot tries his/her hand at skiing, riding soap bubbles, bumper cars, and being shot out of a cannon, but that's not all. Very cool game with loads of diverse settings and tasks to master.

Cro-Mag Rally is a series of race courses involving a caveman in different vehicles. He avoids obstacles and picks up weapons like bone bombs and bottle rockets. Two players can be displayed on a split screen; multi-players can play over the internet (but the last is only supported by OS 9 and won't work with OS X). I'm not a race fan, so this one didn't appeal to me that much. Key driven only, this game doesn't use the mouse. I didn't like the voice or music in Cro-Mag Rally either, so I guess it just wasn't for me.

Billy Frontier is different altogether from the games already mentioned. It has a strong cowboy theme and the enemies are space creatures. Maybe it's better to kill a space monster, but the game does involve squirting blood... over and over as the player masters the keystrokes to win. I wouldn't recommend it to kids and was even a little grossed out myself. Target practice involves replicating arrow key sequences within the time allowed. The action is keyboard driven only; like Cro-Mag Rally, there's no mouse here. There's also stampedes, duels, and shootouts requiring different levels of skill and a repeating theme with chili peppers. The look and feel of the game is totally distinct from Bugdom, Otto Matic, or even Cro-Mag Rally, so it offers interest, a distinct change of pace, and a totally new challenge to the player.

Enigmo is still even more different. The action in this game requires logic and experimentation in solving 50 levels of liquid puzzles. Each level involves droplets of liquid (water, oil or lava) and a variety of tools (including bumpers, slides, accelerators and/or sponges). The object of each level is to combine the objects in a manner to capture the droplets in a repository or repositories. It's an amazing challenge given the configuration from "drip" to "bucket." I loved trying to figure out which tools to use where and the variety of combinations that were possible. I'm told that players can even make their own puzzles and post them on the internet or email them to friends. The game includes an additional 20 levels for kids; I could see the educational value right away. Very different and very cool! Excellent exercise in logical thinking for all ages.

Each game has different system requirements, but for all games to run, the user must have Macintosh GS3/400mhz, 256MB RAM, Mac OS 10.2.6, and ATI Rage 128 3D accelerator. Most computers since 2000 meet these requirements, but be sure to check. Pangea is also great in supplying free updates to its products.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!
This is a good deal on some of Pangea's most popular titles. I'd rate each game like this: 1) Otto Matic -- best game of the bunch, extremely creative, somewhat challenging, though it seems to be written with kids in mind, hence not too tough, great graphics. 2) Enigmo -- fantastic puzzle game, never seen anything quite like it. Very challenging, especially if you try to beat the clock and get the bonus points, great graphics. 3) Bugdom 2 -- also extremely creative, easier than Otto Matic to complete, suitable for kids, great graphics. 4) Cro Mag Rally -- this was ok, I'm not a fan of racing games, but it's very suitable for someone looking for a cartoonish racing game. 5) Billy Frontier -- This game was mediocre and I would've rather see some other game included in the collection instead of this one. Besides average game play, I didn't care for the spewing blood that frequents the Billy Frontier experience and stands in stark contrast to Pangea's record of making fun, yet psychologically sound games. I contacted Pangea, and they said there's no way to turn off the blood effects which makes Billy Frontier, imho, unsuitable for children or anyone with a sense of humanity 8-) --------------------------------------- Overall, it's a nice collection at a reasonable price. Each game ran perfectly at max settings on my 1.25gz G4 Power Mac running 10.2.6 w/ 768 MB of memory. My only other complaint is also part compliment. Of the games I liked, which was 4 out of 5, I found each game a bit short and left me wishing for more. 10 levels on Otto Matic is not nearly enough! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars fun to play with, but not all it claims
The tool is actually pretty fun to play with, but it is not all it claims. I read the reviews, and unless the "tarot.exe" connects to the web without using a dialer, that part of the tool does not work. The company is also out of business; another Seattle dot.com gone bust. If I had known that at the time, I doubt I would have purchased the CD. Basically, you get what you get. But with that said, it does have some nice features, like being able to create your own spreads and add text to the card meanings. For that it is worth the ... I spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars WAY COOL ~Accurate Tarot Readings on your PC
I have been reading Tarot professionally for 10 years. I have a hard time obtaining accurate readings for myself... until now.
I was amazed at the accuracy of the readings from this program. Incredibly easy to use & master. I especially like the editing feature... you can add your own definitions to the cards. You can create & save your own spreads & readings w/notes. Each card description provides in depth symbolic meanings as well as understandable (modern) easy to understand description of what this card means for you in your reading. Provides upright & reversed definitions. A fantastic tool to learn tarot (if you're serious), or just play around with ... No learning required.
I would love to email JOHN HUCKABY & tell him that he's clicking the WRONG ICON, but he didn't post his email address. So if you read this buddy, You must click the icon that looks like fanned out cards (tarot.exe) to start the program. You've been clicking the Multicom/Multimedia link which zaps you to the former CyberTarot home page, which is no longer available. If you try this you will LOVE IT !

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this software
It launches your browser and links to a website that no longer exists making this software absolutely useless. Save your money and look elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I had to keep telling myself that it was for entertainment only. Everytime I do a reading, it is so accurate. It is so easy to use. It tells you what the positions of the cards mean and what the cards mean in that position. You will not be disapointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Good Item To Put In Your Future!
I gave this program to my friend for Christmas. Both of us have enjoyed giving readings for friends and family members. It allows you to save names, reading histories, and reports for future reference, or in case anyone wants to see their reading again later. The cards are beautifully illustrated, and the meaning of the card placement in the spread and the card itself is well-explained. It has options for shuffling the deck with or without reversed cards. I prefer the Ryder-Waite deck over the Cyber deck, although the Cyber one was interesting for a change. (i.e. Adolf Hitler was the Devil card.) All in all, a great piece of software. You won't regret it if you decide to get it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not user friendly
This software has a very cumbersome user interface - it's hard to navigate, searches are cumbersome, and the window is small and can't be resized. I once stumbled across an entry about homemade mayonnaise, but have been unable to find it since, because it's so difficult to navigate.

If you're willing to put up with the cumbersome software, you'll find useful information in here, and probably good recipes too - but I'd choose the book any day.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE!
This software is mislabeled and does not run on a modern computer. The only way you can get it to run is to cripple your computer by turning down virtual memory to a level that will cause other applications like Microsoft Office to crash!
I bought this and was told by the store that they don't accept returns on opened software (which is somewhat reasonable since people would just make copies and return the software).
Don't get ...like me!

3-0 out of 5 stars Recipes are great, Cook book software lacking
I was looking for cook book software to enter all of my recipes into. I read all the reviews on all the different packages and non of them sounded perfect, one would crash due to errors, another was sold to another company and was only being supported so I decided to order the Joy of Cooking software and try it since there were no reviews and it wasn't too expensive. The recipes are great and modern so I will keep the CD for that but I will not waste my time entering my own recipes. Entering the recipes is like typing them on a recipe card, there is no nutritional analysis and I couldn't find a way to print my own book. If you are hoping this will allow you to organize your own recipes, don't buy it. If you want good recipes on your computer and not have to look up a book, I recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Essentially the print cookbook on CD
"Joy of Cooking" is one of the best-known cookbooks ever published, and for good reason. Like the print version, this CD offers some terrific recipes and excellent cooking advice. Unfortunately, the similarities ultimately extend too far. There's simply not enough new material here to warrant a hearty recommendation, particularly to those who already own a copy of "Joy."

A particular source of disappointment is the software's failure to tap the strengths of the form. For example, the box promises "100 illustrated, step-by-step techniques every cook should know." But these techniques rely far too heavily on written descriptions, wasting a perfect opportunity for helpful video files.

More irritatingly, many of the recipes do not even include pictures of the finished dishes. This is a genuine disappointment.

Overall, this product is fine for those who are looking for a searchable copy of "Joy of Cooking." And there a few other features some will find helpful. But don't expect many extras. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best "Little" Program on the Market
I really love my Astrology Source program and find I use it more often than my expensive SolarFire software. For a daily check of transit aspects, and the swift movement of inner planets through houses, the Astrology Source can't be beat. I find that my high end software can give "too much information" to use everyday.

The interpretations are lacking in depth, and a good book (Planets in Transit/Robert Hand) is indispensable for adequate comprehension of important events; but this is the program where you will notice these events, as its ease of use means it is likely it will get used!

Yes, it needs the patch offered at the M-2K website to work with birth times after noon. (extract zipped file to M-2K astrology source in program files, then "yes to all" to overwrite old files) Without the patch, PM birth times will mysteriously switch to AM, but this little program is certainly worth its modest price.

1-0 out of 5 stars NOT MAC OS
I haven't heard back from either the seller of this CD nor the actual software developer, but, I just received the CD in the mail today and I'm angry that it's advertised as MAC OS compatible..... it is NOT! I can't open any of the files and there's no "install" file. Just a lot of files that my MAC G4 on OS 9.2 can't open. What a hoax!

2-0 out of 5 stars I can tell you where to get good software
For really awesome software get in touch with microcycles....Solarfire is a very good program...do not waste your time on cheap software....microcycles will talk to you about what your software needs are...get programs that you can build upon and grow with....I am an astrologer....I have gone the path of cheap programs only to be disappointed....microcycles has great support and prices.........

5-0 out of 5 stars Astrology Source rocks
They've fixed the AM/PM bug a couple of other reviewers noticed, so the new version works great. Lots of options including Placidus, Koch, or Equal House systems, set your own orb size, natal horoscopes, daily horoscopes, etc. Plus it's very simple to use.

Very accurate and well written horoscopes.

3-0 out of 5 stars astrology for entertainment
For a fun and entertaining look at astrology,I found this CD ROM adequate. It contains information on celebrities including, Harrison Ford, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Al Gore, and Albert Einstein, just to name a few. I enjoyed comparing their charts and was not surprised to find out Madonna is a Leo.

I must agree with a previous review. There was inaccurate information in my chart and the evening birth times often come up as AM. A book of instructions and perhaps a beginner's manual would be very helpful for anyone with a more than an entertainment interest in charting the stars. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great looking but thin on gameplay
On the postive side, it looks just like the TV show, and it contains all the Simpsons characters and Springfield locations that you'd expect to see. For a while, it's fun to poke around and see what happens when you click on this door or that drawer. Unfortunately, there's just not enough to do in terms of gameplay. There doesn't seem to be much object of the game other than to collect hidden "trading cards". If you're a Simpsons fan, you'll enjoy it for a while, but it's ultimately kind of a disappointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
Speaking as a big simpson fan I really like this game! It's not as much a game as it is an interactive envirernment ripped from the show! The 3d when walking on the street is okay but the 2d areas look great!Plus the characters are voiced by the voice acters from the show. And there are many many events that fans will reconize from the show!Oh and it contains two new itchy and scratchy shorts!I could keep going on and on with the details on this but I don't want to waste your time.So I will finish by saying that if you are a simpsons fan get it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Take a ride through Springfield
VS allows you to take a humorous tour around Springfield, occasionally finding keys that will allow you to unlock certain places.Fun and funny to look at now and then.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not much to do.
All you really do in this game is look around Springfield and run into the occasional character. I finished the entire thing in less than 2 hours. Plus it is not very vivid or deep. You can only visit 2 classrooms in the Springfield elementary school, there is only 1 angle of Moes bar etc. All you really do is LOOK at these locatons that we are already familiar with and have the tiniest little bit of interaction with them. Plus the geography of Springfield in this game is not the same as the TV show. Which is also inconsistant in it's placing of many "sets". Moes Bar has been in many different places for example. But, then again, in the HOMER BECOMES a garbageman episode, the town was moved to another site. Perhaps this is where it got all shuffled up.

There are a few little (and I mean little) games included. One of the main games is to simply find hidden baseball cards. A ploy to trick into clicking on the screen and revealing slight animation.

In total there is just under 25 minutes worth of animation here and it is cool that the original cast provided the voices. But unless you are a Die Hard Simpsons fan then I would leave this game be. Definitely only for younger kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Simpsons game!!!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars There should be a software LAW for BUYERS
This is a bundle of junk. Unless I installed it wrong (and my husband and I are not computer/software idiots) there is no user interface. I couldn't even find the free subscription for a year to clipart.com. What a bundle of crap. Buyer beware, the only good side of this is that it was only $30. But I could have bought my children some Amazon.com books with that $30. By the way, I have Windows XP. And what really sucks is that I had to give it one star. It deserves a ZERO RATING.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not good for Mac users
This is a terrible collection. Bought it and couldn't actually get to the images. I am a Photoshop user and have some experience with image manipulation etc. and am a long time Mac user. Contacted technical support via e-mail and they told me they couldn't help me. This collection was created by a PC person and adapted to Mac. Don't buy it. Save your money and buy a good Mac collection. Returned Clip Art 2.5 Million and only got back 15 of the dollars that it cost me in the first place.

2-0 out of 5 stars Very misleading product description
Although this package is very affordable, I now know why. First off, a portion of the 2.5 million is only accessible online...for a year. Then, as I explore the various files, I find some objects are presented repeatedly, just in different colors. Wow! So, what you get is three CDs with no manual or clip art book to browse. I'll keep looking for a better collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars For those of you who want to read all the DS9 scripts
Only on this CD are all the 176 scripts to all the episodes. There are a few photos and production notes but you don't have to search the web for them anymore. They are all here. Will they ever produce a version for Voyager?

5-0 out of 5 stars The Definative Guide to the Series
If you're a fan of Deep Space Nine then don't miss out on adding this incredibly detailed book to your library. The glimpses into the making of the episodes and the characters are fascinating. This is the kind of book you relish over time and it's worth every dime.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good database for Trek's "middle child"
I always felt that DS9 suffered from the "Jan Brady/Rodney Dangerfield" syndrome: that is, the show didn't get the respect from the fans that is so richly deserved. While praise was heaped upon "Next Generation" and "Voyager," it just appeared that DS9 was not given its props.

As one of its most stalwart supporters, I strongly recommend this episode guide for its attention to detail. Contrary to the other reviewer, I had no trouble accessing all the information contained on the disc. The information helps me to learn about favorite eps and refresh my memory of all the intricacies involved in the production of this excellent show.

This is one "companion" that I am glad that I "met."

4-0 out of 5 stars If you are a DS9 fan, you must own this rare gem!
The main reason to get this DS9 companion is due to the fact that it has every complete DS9 shooting script on one convenient CD-Rom disc. The core of DS9's success lay in its excellent writing, and creative character development of its principal players: Sisko, Worf, O'Brien, Kira, Jadzia, Odo, Quark, Bashir, Garak, and countless others throughout the series' 7 seasons.

This truly is a diamond in the rough, and a worthy collector's item to diehard Niners out there!

4-0 out of 5 stars A useful reference guide
I found this guide to be very helpful by providing a fully-searchable set of the episode scripts. It sounds like wcaver was using the feature search (which is somewhat less than useful), rather than the full text search (which finds every instance of a word in all of the scripts).

However, it isn't perfect. For one thing, if you click on any word in the script or synopsis, it does a text search for that word. For someone who is used to clicking in a window to bring the focus there, this is very distracting. For another thing, the guest star information is incomplete; only the "primary" guest stars are listed, and the actors who played minor roles are not listed.

Still, for the price this is a very handy product. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Find a natural solution to problems ranging from acne to arrhythmia.Herbal Guide brings the thousand-year science of herbal medicine into thedigital age.

The Herbal Guide is simple and straightforward. Users can choose to look at herbs, which are sorted by their medical delivery system--such as tea, pills, ointments, etc.--or cruise all of the available categories. These databases are then cross-indexed to match particular ailments. When you click on a disorder, all of the applicable herbal treatments pop up ina window to the right of the ailment list. Photographs of each herb are provided along with a short essay about its history, applications, and the correct dosages required for effective treatment.

This database is a great herbal resource for beginners. It excludes more esoteric plants, the ones that are most likely to have toxic effects. Eventhe milder subset of herbs that are included in the listing comes with careful and explicit warnings about incorrect usage of the plant medicines described. Finally, Herbal Guide also comes with a glossary of common medical terms that users will come across in the course of using the program.

Herbal Guide is an application with a very tight focus and no extraneousfeatures. It will not connect users to herbal databases online or make anyassessments of personalized medical data. An attractively packaged compilationof herbal lore, it assumes that users will take the information they glean fromthe package and head straight for the nearest health store. In other words, itdoes not have a complex search engine or provide data on such topics ascultivating herbs or collecting them in the wild.

Users with minor health complaints who want to dip their toes into the widening pool of alternative medicines will find the Herbal Guide tobe a refreshing and educational place to start. --Alyx Dellamonica ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

eMedia Guitar Method, Vol. 1 eliminates any excuse you may have forleaving your guitar sitting dormant and dusty in the corner. Designed with thebeginner in mind, this software offers more than 150 lessons, includingeverything from how to hold your guitar to chord progressions and fingerpickingtechniques. Plus, the exercises are accompanied by full-motion video, helpfulaudio advice, and an animated fretboard. Add in a digital metronome, digitalrecorder, and an automatic tuner, and your rationalizations for not learning arenull and void.

After setting aside just a couple of minutes for installation and setup, you'reready to go. Upon launching the software, you're given a complete table ofcontents, making it easy to access whichever lesson you want to start on. Ifyou've never picked up a guitar, the first few lessons are handy, guiding youthrough different types of guitars, how to string a guitar, tuning, holding, andfinger position. All the language is simple and easy to understand, and beforelong you're playing your first song.

Two of the nicest features are the animated fretboard and full-motion videos. The video demonstrations are perfect for people who may need to hear things morethan once or twice. Want to see just how your fingers should be positioned forthat full G chord? Just click and watch as many times as you want. And forlearning to play songs, the animated fretboard is great, showing you just whichfingers go where and when. And the more than 70 songs included are good, too, ranging among such artists as Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Heart, and the SteveMiller Band.

Teaching yourself to play guitar can be frustrating and boring. Fortunately,eMedia has made learning guitar interesting, uncomplicated, and just plain fun.--Joshua Goldman ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price
If you want to learn to play the guitar, get this course. Before using this course I had never even picked up a guitar. In a month, I was playing. Here it is 6 month later and I'm playing well enough to play with just about anybody. The course layout is logical and makes learning something you can't help but do.

Chords are introduced one or two at a time and each lesson builds on previous lessons so that what you learned early on in the course remains fresh in your mind. Couple that with the video of the author demonstrating various techniques, animated fretboard, chord finder (with a diagram and audio of the chord) and metronome and you have a great course that makes learning to play the guitar very easy. As with any learning tool, you have to want to learn and you have to practice. But, this course is a great tool to get you to playing a guitar.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loads of material. You"ll be inspired for months.
I've been using the Emedia Guitar CD-ROM for almost five months now and my progress is remarkable. Each newly taught guitar skill is backed up with songs and exercises to practice and refine that technique. My only problem with this product is the recorder is no better than the one included with most computers. The other built-in features (tuner, metronome and chord dictionary) are all very helpful. I've been going to a lot of free guitar tab sites and the chord dictionary is a great help for all those chords I haven't learned yet and are rarely written out. There is also a way to slow down any song on the program, which is very helpful now that I'm working on some more difficult stuff.

I highly recommend this for anyone serious about learning.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very useful and eMedia will exchange.
In response to a previous review, eMedia will take back their products. I got Guitar Method 2 from a store and it was a little too difficult because I've only been playing for about 2 months. eMedia was very nice and exchanged it for Guitar Method 1. Make sure you do it in 30 days. The program is very helpful and my progress has rapidly accelerated. I'll probably end up getting the second level after all. I also really like Zen and the Art of Guitar for a little inspiration.

1-0 out of 5 stars Product is cheaky
This product doesn't do the justice of teaching guitar well

5-0 out of 5 stars Get's you playing fast!
I've really struggled with guitar books for many months now but I got this CD-ROM for X-mass and I've really made a lot of progress. Having an instructor on call to see first hand how to play a chord or strum is such a plus. You can slow all the songs down to whatever speed you need them, which is also handy. I'll definitely move on to the next level. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Simple Will Product
This was a good program that walks through most simple Will related documents. I did the common Will and found it straightforward. The program steps you through questions and allows you to jump around by clicking on any part of the document. There is reasonable flexibility to saving and editing, but it was not always obvious. It is great it was written for both the PC and the Mac (I appreciate companies that will make software that runs on Apple computers) and it was easy to install and run, which is a real plus, but it still appeared to be written by a "windoze" programmer. The odd thing was they put the menus on a separate bar and did not use the Apple menus bar at the top (by habit I always went to that to save, quit, etc. and it was not there). What I did not like was that you could not see some of the wording on the forms easily (i.e., small script print). I did not like the need to enter a name and general info before getting started on any topic. However, once you got going it was not that bad and you could import a filled form (i.e. my Will) to another (i.e., my wife's Will), keeping all the common information. You do get an option to edit the file as text, but they really caution against that because you might mess up the "legal wording and format". It will do rich text format and you can edit that in Word or another text editor. I was hoping for a few varied examples of things done in a Will to "pick and choose from," or other suggestions/alternatives, but there was none. It seems like all the software and Internet help says "do it this way" or get a lawyer! If you want a few more forms or a good legal dictionary, get the Family Lawyer CD by the same company; otherwise they are the exact same software! ... Read more
