2-0 out of 5 stars Softward needs to be upgraded
I like the contents of the A+ Spanish wordwise; however, the mechanics of this program doesn't work to well. In fact before I purchased German Now 9 (I have German Now 8, Spanish Now 8, and A+ German.) the special features ran somewhat, now only the written, the pronunciation and flash cards part of this program works. I have Windows Me. Perhaps if Transparent Language would update like they did with German Now 9, it would work better on the more recent Windows. Depending what computer system you have, I would recommend buying it.

1-0 out of 5 stars It doesn't work
I can't get this CD to work with Windows XP. There's no sound and no video. I tried the technical support on Transparent Language's website but their solution didn't work either.

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT on-line software
This CD will interface with the company's web-site for on-line exams, but it is NOT an on-line program. I did notice that the written alphbet pronounciation guide is different from the pronounciation of the speaker on the CD, noticably for LL, j, g and y. I don't know which is correct, and wonder if there may be other errors. Still, for [the money] you can't really go wrong.

1-0 out of 5 stars On line software
BEWARE.. This is an online software program..If you don't have DSL buy something else.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the way to learn a language
To learn Spanish, "A+ Spanish" is a better program to begin with than the program "Learn Spanish Now", both published by the company Transparent Language. It is better because instead of just memorizing phrases, it taught me the language in a step-by-step way: with words, phrases and short, simple sentences, all accompanied by grammar. Through the grammar that I learned, I am able to create sentences on my own, instead of just spouting memorized phrases, which is what I basically ended up doing in the "Learn Spanish Now" program. Yet, the "Learn Spanish Now" program, which I consider a program for advanced speakers, does comes in handy for me now that I understand Spanish better grammtically thanks to the A+ program. In "A+ Spanish", not all verb tenses are covered, but many of the most important ones are. Sometimes you are referred to a part of the program called "Grammar Basics", which contains a more in-depth coverage of grammar -- this isn't much of a hassle since you can just keep that part open in another window, but my preference would have been to just have all the grammar discussed in the main part of the program. Like "Learn Spanish Now", "A+ Spanish" has many features: a pronunciation guide of the various sounds of Spanish based around the alphabet, a 10,000+ vocabulary, electronic flashcards, optional slow sound so that you can hear pronunciations more easily, conversation practice, on-line quizes, games and other things. All these features give you extra practice and thus enable you to better learn the language. The only thing this program leaves out is some advanced grammar, but considering that the program is intended for beginners I can't blame the programmers too much. All in all it's a very good program. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great program
I started using this program after i learned a little bit of French. This is the best of 3 other ones i tried. It starts out with very small basic talk. Then it takes you into intermediate conversation at the end. maybe it's easier for me because it's my fifth language, but i just ordered two more copies because they make awesome gifts. The only reason i didn't give it V starts was because it only had 4 major conversation (long ones) I wish it had more.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just plain bad for beginners, bad format, and a bad buy!
The format was terrible! You couldn't find anything you were looking for. The games were very difficult, and it does an awful job of giving you vocab words. It would be much better for an advanced french student brushing up on the language, but I would not recommend it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay Information Awful Format
I wouldn't recommend this as a beginner's first resource for learning French though it is a nice tool to have once you've gained intermediate skills. It would make a nice supplementary piece but it is by no means a starting point for learning. I would read The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning French as a first step, its very simple and complete. Also, I didn't see $49.95 worth of software in this package, fortunately I got mine on sale & acompanied by a mail-in rebate.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not helpful at all
I returned this item. The voice was awful, and the structure was terrible. I was using XP, so this might be better with an Apple system.

2-0 out of 5 stars User interface needs an update
This program has some useful features (like the voice comparison) but getting around is a pain, and it is difficult or impossible to do some things. It's difficult to tell where to start, switching from word to sentence pronunciation is not possible, and it's impossible to go back to the "previous step" if you accidently click the "next" button twice. The male french speaker was talking at warp 9, and the "slow down" feature just put a lot of static into the voice. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The Kaplan Writing & Vocabulary Essential Review presents grammar rules and writing instruction with an appealing, easy-to-use interface. The software includes practice tests to help students track progress and identify areas for further study, as well as brainstorming, outlining, glossary, and bibliography programs that will improve homework assignments and papers. Students will also benefit from tutorials and quizzes for each chapter, test-taking tips and strategies, context-sensitive help, and word-search and crossword puzzles that reinforce content.

Students can begin the program however they like. Some prefer to read the table of contents, choose a chapter, and begin their learning through reading and practice tests. Others may choose to explore various portions of the program, such as the tutorials, Tips and Strategies section, or the glossary. Students can also begin by taking a 25-question diagnostic test to determine mastery level. Upon completion of the test, Kaplan Essential Review provides a report of correct and incorrect answers. For each incorrect response, the program offers the correct answer and explains why it is correct.

From that point, students can decide how they would like to direct their learning: They can explore a subject in which they need improvement, study the tutorials provided, work on crossword puzzles covering the content, read through the glossary, or take practice tests. They can then retake the diagnostic test to compare results. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars It's like reading a boring textbook.
I'm terrible with my grammar, I was hoping this would help me improve it, however, I was dissapointed. First of all I had trouble using the software with windows XP, turns-out I needed to run it using Windows98/XP setting in order for it to work.

The software itself lacks visual aids. There are no pictures or videos, only texts. The music and sound effects are annoying, but you can turn it off. The software has a section called "now it's your turn," in which they ask you a bunch of questions, but provide no answers, to confirm your own. To sum it all up, it's basically a poorly writen E-Book, your better off buying a book on grammar.

Lighting fires and stringing wires... It's all in a day's work with InventorLabs Technology. This super-cool software package gives you awindow into the laboratories of Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and James Watt, each of whom is kind enough to explain his work with electriclights, telephones, and steam engines--and let you do a little experimenting ofyour own.

Once you've absorbed a bit of information about what the inventorsare trying to do, you can manipulate the equipment and try new combinations, learning what works and what doesn't, and ultimately design your ownexperiments. This unique feature is a great asset for the creative learner;hours can whiz by as you try new combinations, take notes, and keep working onyour invention. With this program, kids and grownups can develop the samecritical reasoning skills that inventors and scientists use every day, ratherthan just passively reading about the process.

The interface and lab graphicsare gorgeous and easy to get lost in as you explore the labs, inventions, andtimelines that reveal the inventors' historical surroundings. The softwareitself is easy to install and doesn't drain system resources, making it greatfor older computers as well as this year's models. Amazon.com Review

Using conversations on QuickTime video combined with sentence-by-sentence and word-by-word translations, this software instantly immerses you in practical situations, such as ordering food or traveling by train--exactly what you need before you head to Tokyo next month, right? Best-suited to students who've already had about one year of Japanese, this CD-ROM applies "authentic language" and "communication gap" exercises--widely used university approaches. In lay speak, this means you will:

  • Watch videos of native Japanese speakers interacting naturally with each other (the acting's not half bad, either)
  • Read printed versions of their dialogs
  • Listen to the dialogs word by word or segment by segment
  • Practice pronouncing dialogs word by word or segment by segment, using the included microphone
  • Apply vocabulary by filling in new words from the dialogs, or in other gamelike activities, such as crossword puzzles
Transparent language successfully uses this model in its other language packages. Its Japanese adaptation is equally successful, with two main differences: Japanese needs better-integrated politeness and gender-specific language practice, and at this level it should print dialogs in kana instead of roomaji. (The separate practice module for the kana is a bit of an afterthought, so pick up a separate kana review, too.)

Overall, this is a unique system that will both entertain and challenge you. Each sentence is given with a full translation, and each word with grammatical details, such as tense, etc. You can slow down videos and recorded speech to hear them better, and you can play back your own pronunciation to compare it with native speakers'. This is painful, we know, but helpful.

Note that you should know at least some Japanese first and be fairly comfortable with concepts like -masu forms and "object particle." Also, the software gives pronunciation feedback with gimmicky graphs that will make sense only if you've studied acoustic phonetics before; nonetheless, the interactive pronunciation and the videos are the most useful features. Caveats: the software works with both Mac OS and Windows, but some extra stuff on the Bonus CD works only with Windows. (This should not at all dissuade Mac users, however.) Also remember that it's rather antisocial to practice conversation only on the computer, so here's a great excuse to sit at the sushi bar. --Erik Macki ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good primer, but you'll need more.
I work for a Japanese company, and I bought this program after a trip to Japan. (I knew I would be going back again, occasionally.) It's slow learning the language with any method. Japanese is quite different than English. But, I was able to get some basic phrases in a short time.

This product probably won't stand on it's own, since the program doesn't directly teach you the grammar. You kind of have to stumble into that in the program, or figure it out on your own. Also, I haven't seen a dictionary or well indexed topics in the program to help you learn specific words quickly... that would have been nice.

The good news is this program does help you get a handle on pronuciation and inflection very quickly. (When I met my Japanese colleagues again later on, they were impressed with my pronunciation - what little I could say.) Click on a word, and it pronounces the word. Click on another icon, it pronounces it slower. Click on yet a different icon, and it'll read the whole sentence. Very cool!

Of course, I'm now looking for more advanced books. I've got some friends at work that help me learn at lunchtime, now. Pretty good deal... I buy them lunch, they help me learn Japanese. ;)

I used this software on a Macintosh G3/350. Hope this helps!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
This program has the worst user interface I've ever seen in my life, and plenty of bugs to go with it.

The video conversations are a great idea but they are poorly executed and there are too few of them anyway.

The rest of the program vaguely resembles a reference guide but it's to cumbersome to be of much practical use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Awful product.
If you speak absolutely no Japanese, this product is not for you. If you speak a little bit of Japanese you would hate this program. This is a horrible way to teach yourself the language and probably wouldn't help beginners at all. DO NOT BUY!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Program - There has to be something better
I bought this CD before my husband and I got stationed in Japan, and thought it would help me to get a little bit of a grasp on the language. It is terrible. I want to be able to learn the language step by step, starting basic and working to intermediate, like you do with any language, but this is impossible. It throws you into the language somewhere in the middle and you have to have a handle on the language before you even begin to work with this program. It advertises that it is great for the beginner, but I think I just wasted my money.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good for supplimental use only!
If you are a beginning student, this program can be used as a suppliment to other learning tools. This program will not teach you Japanese by itself! The good points are the video/dialog sections and the word record/playback feature (which I use alot to practice pronunciation). A major drawback is the lack of a good lookup tool to find a specific word in context within a sentence. You are also limited to the words used in each lesson for the interactive practice sections. If you are just curious, this is an affordable way to explore the Japanese language, but if you are a serious student you might consider "Power Japanese" (which I think is changing names to "Complete Japanese"). 1-0 out of 5 stars wouldn't work; encore didn't honor money-back guarantee
--> Stay away from all products from this company! <--

- wouldn't install on xp/pro (product box and Amazon state this works on XP, but website indicates product doesn't support this configuration)
- installs on mac os9, but works poorly (unreadable dark blue text on black background, sound is either too loud or too soft, fields not editable that should be, etc.)
- even worse, company (Encore) wouldn't honor 30-day money-back guarantee -- after attempting to return product in original box, etc. to Encore, I received a letter back stating I need to return product to place of original purchase (contrary to product documentation), and they didn't return product back to me to even be able to do this! [attempts to contact via phone didn't work -- on hold for 30+ min's]

1-0 out of 5 stars Very old design style - lame interactivity
This uses Macromedia Director software to accomplish it's animation . .which is all fine and well until you realize they are stuffing you into a tiny box . . .with black backgrounds and white text. Do they know nothing about usability?

I can't get very far into this, but throwing up some text on a small screen and reading it . .. is hardly dynamic.

Might help some . .but with my screen resolution at 1024x768 I'd actually like to use more than 1/4 of my screen to learn.

Lame, lame, lame.

2-0 out of 5 stars Would not install correctly
After installing the sound did not work on the computer (returning to a restore point fixed that). Their online support seems to indicate that this is a common problem. We run Windows XP with multiple users. I assume it couldn't handle that, at any rate I received many errors in path names when I tried to run it, although it did seem to come up. We are relatively computer astute, and maybe could have gone in and fiddled with things to make it work - but I don't want to. Its going back.

Another down-side for me is that it consists of single CD's for each level of math, all of which need to be installed separately. Plus it has to be run from CD, not from the hard disk which is a negative for us since we want to make it as easy as possible for our kids to use!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what we needed
We are very happy with this. It breaks down the problems for you when you want, gives some incentive for the children to succeed (games), gives detailed lessons, practise exercises and final exams. You can jump forward or rewind.

I wish it had a fast forward option, which would let you hear the lesson quickly, even though it would sound like the chipmunks.

Very good product! Well worth the cost.

5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER FUN AND EASY!!
As hard as this is to admit, but I bought this program for myself! I wanted to refresh my math skills and it certainly did the trick! My oldest son will get a lot of use out of it as well in a couple of years. For a person such as myself who has a hard time understanding concepts of mathematics, I thought that it explained most of them in clear and concise ways. Another great thing is that it comes with a voucher that you can send in with your receipt to receive another free "Encore" game. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Recommended
I do not recommend Spanish Now. First of all, it's not very good for a beginner because it has no good way to build the vocabulary. Other Spanish programs I have tried showed pictures of items and gave the Spanish name for it to help build one's vocabulary. Anything like that is absent from this program. All it does is give a list of sentences and read them to you and, if you're a beginner, you're expected to learn a lot of new words all at once. You can learn words from it, but it is a very boring and tedious way of doing so. Secondly, the program is just stupid. In one section, it gives a list of phrases that you would need to know if you're planning a trip to a Spanish speaking country. Before each set of phrases, it has whole complicated paragraphs that tell about Spanish customs and they're all in Spanish. If a person can read all these paragraphs about customs then they wouldn't need to be learning how to ask the location of a good restaurant or something simple like that. Third, I found the games that this thing has to be pretty boring. Fourth, the company obviously didn't proofread their product very well because it contains errors in the text. Worst of all, it has translational errors. So no matter what level you're at in learning Spanish, I don't recommend this software. As a matter of fact, if you're a beginner and you want to learn the language, don't buy any language software and expect it to be your sole learning source. I've used several Spanish CD-ROMs and none of them alone will teach you much about Spanish. They're only useful when used in conjuction with books, tapes, or other programs. And if you just want to learn enough Spanish to get by, this one will help you but there are far cheaper ones that will teach you just as much. I would recommend QuickStudy Spanish by The Learning Company.

3-0 out of 5 stars Beginers beware
This program is almost like watching spanish television with subtitles. It has the spanish dialog & the english translation to the conversations. This is better though, because you can repeat what you missed, and you can get a word by word translation and prononciation. Sure, the dialoge & translation isn't completely perfect, but I found it to be close. Aside from this, i didn't much care for the rest of the CD (vocabulary exercises, travel tips, conversation practice, etc) . Good if you can already read spanish to some degree. Make sure you read the help section. I don't recemend you start with spanish now though. Instead, take a look at something like Pimsluer's courses.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for most beginners -
I actually have the 7.0 version which I acquired up when 8.0 came out. Can't imagine that the 8.0 version would be any vast improvement unless they've really addressed beginners. Some people, like me, just don't pick up new languages easily and this software was no help. It was not user friendly and definitely was not for beginners. Used it few times and it is now stored with my ever growing pile of relatively useless, overly hyped, software disks. I find it amazing that a field as potentially lucrative as computer guided, at-home, language instruction has so many unfriendly and painful to use products on the market. Good thing I acquired it cheaply, otherwise I would have been much more disappointed. Time to check out another product. Maybe I'll get back to 'Spanish Now' when I learn some Spanish! For now, it's just too tough to use. My computer didn't even like it. As I told my French teachers in high school and my German professors in college: "I don't need immersion, I need guidance and teaching."

1-0 out of 5 stars My experience with Spanish Now!
My experience with this product was not a pleasant one. First, I caught two translational errors and I'm a beginner, so I'm left wondering how many other errors there are that I'm not catching. I e-mailed the company about this and all they did was send me an attachment with just those two errors corrected. They didn't offer me my money back or even offer me so much as an apology. I also had problems with the sound. And I knew it was in the software and not my computer, so I e-mailed the technical department and they didn't even bother to e-mail me back. I e-mailed the company again about the technical department not responding to me and the compnay didn't respond this time either. And it's been about two months since I've e-mailed them. So I would just not recommend this product. Even without the errors, the product still isn't very good.

1-0 out of 5 stars Spanish Now 8.0
I planned to brush up on the Spanish I had not used in 10 years. From the description, this seemed like the proper package. From the time I opened the box I was lost. There are no loading instructions, workbook or guide as to how to use the software. I had to call the manufacturer's 800 number to load it. After that I still had no idea where to start since there were dozens of icons to press. I pressed a few. A video of a conversation appeared. I wasn't sure it it was lesson one or lesson 100. It may be a wonderful program, but I returned it because I had no concept of where to start. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This is A GAME!
This is a game . Its educational value does not live up to what is promised on its cover, very misleading. What primary resource material was it talking about? It was a game and if thats what you want to get your kid get civillization III, not only does it have more educational content , it also is more realistic and helps them learn the complexity and hardship alongside history and structure. In other words this was a waste of money !

4-0 out of 5 stars Sound great for reports
This looks great as I plan on teaching 1750 - 1900 this year to my homeschooled children. I especially like the idea of maps, that is if I can print them off. It is good to have maps pertaining to that era specifically. The only reservation I have would be the systems requirements, as I have XP but I can use it on our Windows 98 I am sure.
Looks great!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Major disappointment
I had a previous version of Easy Language, with only four languages on it. Unfortunately, the software and Windows XP don't get along, so I ordered the newest edition of Easy Language. I was looking forward to the same level of quality. Boy, was I wrong. Sure, there's 61 languages. And the sound quality is so bad, you can't understand a word that's being said. For all I know, they're only using one language, and I just can't tell the difference. Graphics- poor. Ease of use- poor. No nice little tutorial to show you how to use the CD. No Pip. Appearence- elementary. The wallpaper reminds me of when I first tried to teach myself HTML. Big disappointment. I recommend- DO NOT BUY.

2-0 out of 5 stars it does not work
The quality of this '61 language' CD is pathetic.
There is very little information per language and there
is no way you will learn anything from this. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars If you want MORE...make it yourself!
For me, this was a comprehensive and easy to use program. In my former school system, we had to use paper gradebooks. Fortunately, the school where i was stationed allowed teachers to use software packages like this one to input and print grade reports.

Teacher's Toolbox was used EXPRESSLY for calculating grades. It proved efficient and easily accessible throughout our school building. I would recommend this program to anyone who is techno-illiterate or just needing something to use instead of paper, pencil and calculator. If you need lesson plan writing and test-making software, use what is already available on the market. Don't expect Teacher's toolbox to do everything you might want.

So, if you need grade calculations, and nothing extravagant for gradebook and progress report production, Teacher's Toolbox is your tool to use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Teacher's Toolbox 4.0
Do not waste your money. The program is not user friendly and does not offer anything I can't find on any other program.

1-0 out of 5 stars AbleSoft Teacher's Toolbox review... for what it's worth
I installed the AbleSoft Teacher's Toolbox and while familiarizing myself with the menus and instructions, a colleague stopped me to recommend a different program he'd "test driven" already and liked.

Fine, I had no stake in the AbleSoft "Teacher's Toolbox" program yet, so I decided to remove the program from my computer before getting too deeply into it and to have a look at my cohort's suggested program first.

Well, damn! These AbleSoft people are clever devils... or maybe they're sinister bastards, who knows? Hard to guess about these things these days.

Turns out that there's no UNINSTALL file in their program. You're stuck with removing the damn thing bit by bit, byte by byte, file by file... and still there are hidden and residual traces of the program that won't go away. That's pretty irritating.

In short, I don't like people who write and market incomplete, inefficient, ineffective or "system capture" programs. These are either "bad boys" or fools. So even if this AbleSoft program has some useful functions, I wouldn't reward these scoundrels by buying their products. That's my opinion. You're free to form your own, of course. Good luck.

3-0 out of 5 stars Problems with Teacher's Toolbox 4.0
I have had Teacher's Toolbox 4.0 for a month now and it has greatly increased my organization and my efficiency in calculating (and apportioning) grades. However, I have several complaints: 1. On the "Lesson Planner" page, only three preps allowed. For many teachers, this just isn't realistic. Toolbox cannot be configured to accommodate more preps. 2. If the user decides to divide the marking period into sub-folders (quizzes, tests, homework), then it becomes impossible to view the assignments chronologically. The user can view all the grades by selecting the "Whole Semester" view, but then they must be sorted according to which sub-folder in which they are stored. 3. The print setup page is defaulted to print "portrait". The user can change this to print "landscape" (which must be done if there are more than ten or so assignments in a marking period), but this choice cannot be saved. Every time the user wishes to print a page, he or she must reconfigure the print setup. 4. In programs such as Word or Excel, several documents can be opened at once. The user can toggle between these documents by using "Window" at the top of the screen. In Toolbox, however, can only handle one. Before the user can open the grades for another class, the user must either save a class and then close it, or open multiple versions of Toolbox. If multiple documents could be opened with one program, then a comparison between classes could be done. 5. Once the user has opened a class, Toolbox is configured to open to the "whole year" view instead of the current marking period. Toolbox cannot be configured to open directly to the current grading period. To view the current marking period, the teacher must click on "Reveal tree", which shows a left-hand window similar to Windows Explorer, then select the branch of the tree he or she wishes to see, then toggle "reveal tree" off in order to use the whole screen. A "Next folder up" icon would be quite helpful, or a navigating through a window such as with the "open" or "save" dialogue boxes in Microsoft Word. 6. On the "Grades" page, there are thirteen options that can be selected to define each assignment. These options, displayed in a box at the top of each column, cannot be customized - all thirteen options must show, which takes up about half the vertical space on the computer screen. It would be nice to be able to display only what is needed and leave more space for the grades themselves, thus avoiding scrolling up and down to see the students' grades. 7. Toolbox is very gray. Color-coding would be nice on many of the functions. On the "Events" page, for example, lines designating the folders look identical to line designating individual assignments. On the "Grades" page, when a grade becomes "locked", the description box at the top could be color-coded. On the "Grades" page again, there could be an option to give different each student's line a separate tint, avoiding the possibility of entering grades onto the wrong line. (Another way to solve this problem would be to highlight the student's name as the user scrolls up and down a grade column. This is a standard in Excel). Given the above, I highly recommend teachers to find some software with which to do their grades (if you don't, you're living in the 1980's). You may however, wish to examine the competition.

4-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding product

Amazon.com Review

Computers may have done away with ribbons, correction tape, and manual carriage returns, but let's face it--you still gotta type. Whether you're an absolute beginner or a slightly embarrassed long-time hunt-and-pecker, Slam Dunk Typing will have you clicking and clacking confidently in no time. Best of all, its basketball-themed typing games are fun! But lest your game of hoops become a game of oops, you first need to practice with some drills. Fortunately, these aren't as dreary as you might think: there's a passing drill that gets your fingers accustomed to the locations of letters on the keyboard, a slam-dunk contest in which your typing speed dictates the style and success of the dunk, and a Missile Command-like game in which deadly "word basketballs" rain down on the court--unless your quick and nimble fingers can stop them by typing the word and blasting them out of the arena. OK, so it's not exactly NBA Live 2000, but at least you'll learn how to type. The drills can get a little repetitive, but a little repetition is a good thing here, especially if you're trying to master the delicate art of not looking down at the keyboard as you type. So bring your A game, but don't forget to bring your Q, W, E, R, T, and Y games, too. --Steve Landau ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars fun for me
I am 13 and this is awesome!! Fun to learn from. It helps you to discover problem keys, prompts you to work on them and is very, very fun to play. It feels like a game rather than a lesson.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!
My 12 year old son loves this game. He "plays" it more like a game than as homework. It is very well made, the instructions are clear and thorough and he has spent more time with than we asked him to! Much better than the boring typing class I took in high school, this will get him typing correctly in a few weeks time and in a very enjoyable format. If you have a basketball lover this is definitely the game for them! It starts out w/ the typical letter sequences like j-h or f-r but instead of just typing it forever, the game is set up in a few different formats.

In "passing" you type the letters that show and that passes the ball between players.

In the "game" scenario you type the letters to pass the ball and then every now and again a small screen pops up w/ a three letter word that you have to type in order to shoot or defend the ball! very fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome
My daughter only tried this once but it helps alot and she said "if you have children who realy like to type they should ask for it for x-mas, birthday, and/or pay for it them self!!!"

4-0 out of 5 stars Grrrrrrreat
Great fun- and learning how to type at the same time. If you want to learn how to type, but not get bored at the same time, try using "slam dunk typing" we used it at computer class at school. When she said it was time to leave, nobody wanted to go because they were having such a a great time. I reccomend it for people ages6 and up, but anyone can really use it.

5-0 out of 5 stars He shoots He Scores!
Slam Dunk Typing is a fun way to learn how to type if you like basketball. You start on the beginers level by just shooting simple baskets and then work your way up to playing in a real basketball game. It's having fun and learning how to type at the same time. Have fun! ... Read more
