Lame
This game is lame. I had no technical problems whatsoever, the game is simply boring. I agree with the other review that says it's hard to figure out what you are supposed to do. The game doesn't make any sense. It's counter intuitive - a very bad thing for a kid game. I got it as part of a suite of kids software, and I'm thankful that I didn't buy it separately. But, I have to live with the never-ending cycle of my 2 year old wanting to hear the song and see the characters (she cried until I load the CD) like it's a cartoon. Then, she gets frustrated and cries when she has no idea what to do. And, my 4 year old became almost immediately bored with the game when it's pointless nature became evident to her as well. She went back to the Scooby Doo mysteries (which are really good). I think I'm going to uninstall it and throw it in the garbage just to get away from it. It's that bad.

Buggy and brief
My son loves Rolie Polie Olie and I really enjoy reading the books to him, but I've been pretty disappointed in this software title.

In short, consistent with what some others have reported, it just doesn't work very well. Despite my system meeting the minimum requirements easily, the software only works sporadically, and when it does it's often herky-jerky with pixelated graphics.

It's also not at all clear what you're supposed to do, which makes it a tough slog. But even once you've figured it out, there's just not much to it. When it's working, it looks cool, but the 3 or 4 games it contains aren't anything to get exciteed about.

I'm giving 2 stars only because my kid is an RPO fan and because of that has still managed to enjoy the game some. I suspect that won't last past the novelty.

Slow, buggy and badly designed
The CD claims it works on 95/98/Me/XP. having XP I can tell it's _not_ true for XP. For starters, it will tell you "no disc inserted" unless you run the game as administrator. It defeats the purpose of creating accounts if your 2 year old son has to log on or run stuff as administrator. I can't understand why it's so slow on a 2.6Ghz computer with 1Gb of memory.
Then when you exit the game, your desktop colors become messed up. You need to log off and back on to retrieve correct colors.

Decent fun, a bit repetitive
My 3yr old really likes this game. I have spent several months taking him through the games and house since he didn't know how to use a mouse click yet. He recently picked it up and now uses the game on his own much to my relief. I still have to help him out since he sometimes gets stuck.
I find the scripts/lines that the characters say will overrun the other sounds that are being made and it can get very annoying at how many times it will repeat wanting you to play whichever game you are in the room for. It isn't clear, at least to me, that you have to play all 3 games before you can find Spot and activate the 4th game. I wish there were more games in the software. A bit limiting there.

Messed Up My Computer ! !
After first loading and playing this awhile, the images got all fuzzy.
This problem was then passed on to anything my child tried to do on her computer - all games, even the opening screen.
The problem did not go away until I uninstalled Rolie.
My daughter loves the show but found the play value very disappointing.
The computer has a 333MHz Pentium, Windows 98 Plus, 128Mb ram, 1Gb available on hard drive, and an 8Mb graphics accelerator card - so well exceeds the system requirements called for by this game. ... Read more

Parents, are you shuddering right now? Are you envisioning reams of paper with odd little projects on them flying from the printer? Hundreds of dollars for printer ink flying from your wallet? There's also an option that eliminates background printing to save ink. One caveat: you must get to this area, called Parent's Printer Saver, before your computer savvy six-year-old does. A kid who's a good navigator could conceivably lock you out of this spot. If controlling how much your child prints is important to you, be sure to access the printer-saver function when it's time to print the first project, and set your controls and password. When we didn't use the option on the first printing, it didn't come up for us on subsequent printings ... so bully your way into the Fun Shop and make sure you're at the controls for that first project.

Pajama Sam fans will love this CD-ROM, as they make P.S. paper airplanes, letterheads, place mats, etc., etc. There's enough non-Pajama Sam artwork to keep purists happy as well. You'll need more than a computer and a printer to finish some of these items.
