Tarot Magic ...an awesome accomplishment
I am very pleased with Tarot Magic. It is educational, fun and easy to use and the decks it offers are exquisite. You can also use your own favorite hands on deck. I have studied the Tarot since the sixties and I find the interpetations to be very well presented and accurate. I have tried other software on this subject and feel comfortable in saying that there is nothing available that can compare to The Tarot Magic software program. All in all it is a wonderful package for a exceptionally fair price.

Tarot program for the Tarot Reader
I have been reading Tarot for about 7 years now. I am told that I am very accurate, when I read for clients. However, I am blocked when I try to read for myself. Honestly, I didn't expect much from this... I've read the little books that come with tarot decks...I pretty much ignore them, they are just not as good as reading from intuition. However, this program hits the nail on the head every time. Both for myself and I've tried it on a few clients for "fun" to see if it corresponded with my readings. Well, I was really dumbfounded, it did. And I'm lock in step with this program now, I use it mostly for my own personal readings, but when I need more depth in reading a clients I will turn to Tarot Magic, to see what I'm missing.It's outstanding. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but not at all...WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!-- Love it -- Rain

Makes an excellent coaster.
This software could have been wonderful. My version came with about sixteen different decks to install, and the graphics were nice. However, this software is extremely buggy. EXTREMELY buggy. Whenever I'd try to use any of the menu options, I'd get an error message and the software would crash. A big waste of time, money, and effort. If you can get your hands on a copy of "Expert Tarot," which is a third of the price, you'll be a lot better off.

Disapointed
I guess you get what you pay for but I was very disappointed with Tarot Magic.
First was the packaging, there is no manual, only a PDF file so I had to print that out. OK, if you have a printer, bad if you get the software Friday night and have to wait until Monday to use the printer at work, or go down to the Printers and pay more money to have one made for you. Having to flip back and forth between screens to figure out what should be a simple program is both time consuming and aggravating.

There is a wealth of information in other essays on the cards and Tarot in general but again all in PDF files. This info is probably the same information as in the numerous other books on Tarot I already have, but if you are very new to Tarot then it will be a great place to start reading.
Next is the graphics, very "cheesy" as my 14 YO daughter called it. Part of this "comic book" look (my comment) is the tiresome navigation. I did find the pull downs and that helped but would have liked a more professional look as apposed to a kid's game feel. Also, I cannot see the cards very well in a spread because they are so small, there is no option to enlarge the screen or make the cards bigger.
Finally, the primary reason I bought Tarot Magic was it is touted as a resource for reading a specific card on a specific position in a given spread. Well that would be all fine and dandy if I were able to use a menu to do this. But Tarot Magic required me to go to the card table, fan the deck, find the card and place it in a position. OK, again, I was looking for a resource, not a game. Reversals are a real problem in this mode too. The manual claims that when you pick a card for a position you simply select "reverse card" in the deal menu. It doesn't tell you that to do this you have to have the card placed in a spread, then select it to read, then select it to be reversed, then you can read the reversed meaning. Again, having a menu to do a lot of this would add a more professional look and speed the process up a whole bunch.
I do need to say something positive about Tarot Magic. If you are very new to Tarot reading or just want to have the program to have it so you can "Impress your friends with "expert" Tarot readings" (direct quote from owner's manual) at your next slumber party then this is a nice economical program that you should get.

Love it
I realy enjoy WeatherBug, because everything is local. I live in Baltimore and my favorite local TV station is ABC2, which has the best weather report in my mind. I saw WeatherBug and ABC2 use the same weather stations and share radar and forecast. I don't know what relationship they have, but they certainly help me to prepare for the day...

Major Disappointment
Our new WeatherBug Plus is apparently permanently in ad-supported mode.A local television station is advertised in the upper right-hand corner of the program. A first email to customer support garnered a response complete with a place from which to redownload the program, which did nothing to solve the program, nor did I need this information since I have the program on CD anyway.

One week later I am still waiting to hear a response to my second email; the ad is still there.In sum, it is NOT ad-free insofar as I can tell, and customer support has turned out to be useless.Perhaps all Plus-versions have some advertising despite their claims.Beats me!

So if you don't mind the ads, buy it, but ours is going back to the store.

fun to play with, but not all it claims
The tool is actually pretty fun to play with, but it is not all it claims. I read the reviews, and unless the "tarot.exe" connects to the web without using a dialer, that part of the tool does not work. The company is also out of business; another Seattle dot.com gone bust. If I had known that at the time, I doubt I would have purchased the CD. Basically, you get what you get. But with that said, it does have some nice features, like being able to create your own spreads and add text to the card meanings. For that it is worth the ... I spent.

WAY COOL ~Accurate Tarot Readings on your PC
I have been reading Tarot professionally for 10 years. I have a hard time obtaining accurate readings for myself... until now.
I was amazed at the accuracy of the readings from this program. Incredibly easy to use & master. I especially like the editing feature... you can add your own definitions to the cards. You can create & save your own spreads & readings w/notes. Each card description provides in depth symbolic meanings as well as understandable (modern) easy to understand description of what this card means for you in your reading. Awesome
I had to keep telling myself that it was for entertainment only. Everytime I do a reading, it is so accurate. It is so easy to use. It tells you what the positions of the cards mean and what the cards mean in that position. You will not be disapointed.

A Good Item To Put In Your Future!
I gave this program to my friend for Christmas. Both of us have enjoyed giving readings for friends and family members. It allows you to save names, reading histories, and reports for future reference, or in case anyone wants to see their reading again later. The cards are beautifully illustrated, and the meaning of the card placement in the spread and the card itself is well-explained. It has options for shuffling the deck with or without reversed cards. I prefer the Ryder-Waite deck over the Cyber deck, although the Cyber one was interesting for a change. (i.e. Adolf Hitler was the Devil card.) All in all, a great piece of software. They must know something
Look... If you need software to CREATE music but have no skills with music production, instruments or stuff then this is your tool. It's easy, it's fun and it's cheap, I'm 16 and on a parental buget so cheap is good. Loop based music arrangements like that old Sonic Foundry Acid program but cheaper and easier. I can use mp3 files, CD files, MIDI files and even video. I can even create a website with the software. Created a song in under 5 minutes, I added video later and I can't say enough about it.

I am hooked... this almost makes it to easy.

The only thing that is lame is that the mp3 encoder is extra. no biggie. I say if your into music you need this program.

If you are crashing....Music Maker Deluxe is my secret weapon, Music Maker Deluxe 2004 (MMD 2004) coupled with 2 other programs I currently use, are proving to be a winning combination for me. Those who have listened to the beats I am pounding out using MMD 2004 are astonished by the layered arrangements and effects this program gave me. Anyone out there who builds beats from scratch and limits their sampling would be impressed with this application. The virtual instruments are cool......bottom line!!!! Even the sampling savy "beat pirates" out there would enjoy this program. It works on my vaio buddy.....LOL The people that will have problems with this program don't read instructions and have too much porn saved to their hard-drive!!!!!!! I'm out

This was a huge no no
This is not only (much like music maker generation 7) highly unstable but pretty useless on both my of my Sony Vaios (Computer Brand). Do not waste your money on this program it was a great disapointment because the crash ratio was higher them the running time.Even after cleaning my memory (as stated in the instructions)it crashed just as bad on both my Pentium 4 and my Athlon.Not only did it crash alot but the program effects broads, such as the guitar effects, need to be updated or done away with. They constintly errored out and most effects that was advertised on the box just plain out did not work. Stick with Sonic Foundry or final cut 4 both are alot better programs to work with.

I do better using built-in Win apps and CD Burn software
I do better using the built-in Windows multimedia applications and the 'Nero' burner and wave editing software that was bundled with my CD burner. This was the MOST disappointing purchase I have ever made in my life. Nothing on the box even HINTS at the license agreement restrictions, which requires you to upgrade to a 'pro' (or 'royalty free') product if you don't want to include something similar to 'Created via MAGIX' in anything you publish, even the FREE stuff (either that or violate the license agreement), regardless of whether or not you use any of the samples. Further, I couldn't even load a simple MIDI file without the application CHANGING THE TEMPO and as well as all of the patch information in the process. So after converting the MIDI file to '.wav' format (using the windows application 'sndrec32' and the media player, like I usually do) I then added this track as #1, and started trying to add extra tracks, only to find out that the ONE feature that would have made this valuable was missing: NO 'per channel' graphic equalizers! And the "tone control" (not even a graphic EQ) had only 3 levels for bass, mid and treble! Even the free software that came with my CD Burner (namely, Nero Wave Editor) has a multi-band graphic EQ in it (and you can even change the frequencies for each band). So much for "effects". I was completely dissatisfied. I immediately uninstalled it and looked on the box for "money back guarantee" so I could return it. And you know what? There's no money back guarantee. (...).

If you already have version 7, DON'T GET THIS
I am a frequent user of Music Maker 7 Deluxe, and it is better on so many levels than this its insane. I was very stoked to buy this product when I heard it had guitar modelling and all the great features in 7 enhanced. BUT, I bought it and realized they took out some of my favorite drum sounds, which worked the best for rock (I am a drummer who likes to make rock music in MM). In addition, there are tons of bugs, crashes, and other annoyances to worry about. The guitar modelling is difficult to use and doesn't really sound like guitar (although its better than what you had before.) The interface is also worse than before. I am very disappointed and pray to god that a patch comes out so my 60 bucks isn't wasted. I will do all my music making in version 7, and maybe use 2004 dlux as a 60-dollar compressor. Fun software
I used my friends 2.0 version and liked it, but it had problems downloading from my Garmin e-trex unit.

Good things: 3D, profile building, different zoom levels and covers the whole U.S. The funnest software package I have. I can go out and map a mountain or road bike course and get an idea of mileage and elevation gain and loss before I go. I print out the maps to take with me.

Bad things: Don't expect it to give you the detail of a 7.5 minute Topo map. For life and death dependancy on a map then buy a more detailed map before you head out. Also don't depend on a GPS because it's batteries may die on you.
My Garmin downloads but it doubles up on my tracks. I have called Delorme about it and they are suppose to look into it.

Bottom line: For $100 to get this much information on the whole US with all of it's features, I am amazed. Sure this is not a perfect program but in my opinion it is a great one. Great for area overviews and in most cases it will get you there and back.

powerful program for the money
I found this software to be a great buy. I had no problems with the 3D features. I was worried because I installed it on a computer that was about 2yrs old but it worked fine. I did have to read the manual that comes on the disc to get to know all the features and how to use them to full advantage. (it would have been nice if it came with a hard copy but you can print it out). This program is very powerful for the money. For a quick example, by just clicking on the screen you can get distances or even acreage computed. Considering the cost and features of this program I would give it 5 stars. To get better software you would have to spend many times the cost of this program.

Not as up-to-date as one would hope
Just purchased Topo USA 4.0 Mountain States Region for $39.98. This is a good product, but the maps are way out of date. For example, I live in an area that is over 6 years old and still does not show up in the maps -- period. In fact, I'm amazed how out of date these maps appear. My little old Microsoft Streets & Trips 2004 is much more up to date. That's a shame because Topo USA 4.0 gives me the layout of the land, elevation, etc. It believe it also will update it's screen about once a second from my Garmin GPS while Streets and Trips updates about once every 15-30 seconds.

If Topo USA 4.0 had maps as up to date as Streets and Trips, It would be 100% better IMHO. As it is now, I have to continue using Streets and Trips because I do need to locate streets that have been built within the last 6 years. I am quite disappointed actually. I have already spend more than $300 on DeLORME mapping products over the last 3 years and each time I find some problem that makes the product half as useful as it should be. They should tell me on the cover of the CD how old the maps are because this is silly to have such old maps.

Far from what it is billed to be
If you are interested in seeing 3D renditions of terrain then this has something to offer. The problem comes when you want to try and navigate the wilderness in any way. The trails, while routable, are extremely far from comlpete, and Mapquest is much better at creating street routes. Also, the interface gives you the option to make certain points of interest visible, but the program will NOT show them no matter what. You can search for specific campgrounds, and most can be found, but none are visible. This is true of many POIs. They are there in the database but can not be seen. I talked to Delorme about this, they said "TopoUSA is for terrain and not POIs, that is what Street Atlas USA is for." If a program is billed as "Great for Camping...", and it has the campground information then it should display it!

Because of the lack of secondary trials and useful POIs this program is hard to bill as more than an expensive toy to look at terrain in 3D. While it rounds many formations that are rather sharp, it is pretty decent at 3D. Otherwise it is fairly useless.

Doesn't Work on New Systems
I bought an earlier version of Topo on DVD. I was satisfied with it but then I upgraded to Windows XP and my DVD will no longer work. Delorme doesn't support the older version and suggests I buy a new one at full price. They didn't offer a lower cost upgrade. So beware if you buy this software. It may not work with Microsoft's next OS upgrade! ... Read more

We were initially skeptical of the necessity of a program like this, given the availability of free online maps. But we soon realized that, along with the ability to take it with you in the car and to scroll and zoom much more quickly than with online maps, DeLorme's Street Atlas USA 2003 has numerous advantages over any sort of mapping solutions found on the Internet.

It can show local businesses and points of interest in any given neighborhood, which can be very useful when navigating around a city--the program can show that you should turn right when you pass the hardware store, for example, rather than relying on street names. The maps are revamped for 2003, but since city roadscapes are constantly changing, the program offers a variety of tools to let you add and name your own points of interest and even new roads.

We found the trip-panning features to be especially useful--you can calculate where you'll need to stop for gas based on your car's fuel efficiency, estimate overnight stops, and more. But for short trips within a city, we found that the directions often took us on zigzagging routes on side streets.

Avoid SA2003 & 4 & Read other One Star reviews - all true.
I - like all but 2 of the 38 others who have written reviews - completely agree that this is the most unfriendly SA version ever. They told me via their Support email that there is no way to eliminate the Splash Screen (which on my PIII/500 takes a full minute to go away). I just want to say this.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read all the negative feedback - I have used SA6 & 7 - and without any doubt - all of the negative comments are unquestionably valid. If I could give this product a negative rank - so that it brought the ranking to ZERO stars - I would.

Worst ... Upgrade ... Ever
I'm a long-time user of Street Atlas (5, 6, & 7), and was tempted to upgrade to 2003 by some of the new features (e.g., road editing) and other improvements. I use Delorme's Earthmate GPS.

The road editing feature in 2003 does work as promised, and 2003 is much, much faster at initializing the GPS than is version 7, particularly in a moving vehicle. Beyond that, I find little to like.

I've used 2003 regularly for several months now, hoping I might get used to quirky interface, but I've come to the conclusion that it is just a horribly designed program. Version 7 certainly was not perfect, but this is a major step backwards in usability. Program interaction is just not well thought out, it is difficult to discover how to perform certain tasks (just one example: disabling voice navigation requires clicking Route, Advanced, Route Prefs), and the new features that allows you to mix multiple routes and different drawing layers is maddening.

Don't buy this program. If you just want mapping, go with Trips and Streets. If you want GPS support, try to find a used copy of Street Atlas 9, 8, or 7. (You can't have mine -- I'm reinstalling it.)

Horrible, horrrible, ....
I bought the whole bundle including the GPS reveiver, USB adapter, and the software. It was very freaky. I just got it to work less than three times. Every time, it worked and stopped without reason. The most error messages are something like "Can not initialize Find tab!". I had contacted Delorme customer service, searched all the useful information online, done all I was told, and finally it just simply does't work any more.

Look like Delorme's qulity control is really poor. The same is the knowlegde of their customer support. Stay away if you can.

Used by the real "James Bond"
Yes, its true. I am a licensed private investigator in Tennessee and California and my real birth name is James Bond. I recently purchased Street Atlas 2003 along with the Delorme Earthmate GPS receiver. I have been using it for my surveillance work (both urban and rural areas of Tennessee)and it has been an incredible help. By using the "Route" feature, the built-in voice navigation takes me right to the location of my case first thing in the morning. Poor lighting is no longer a factor! Missing street signs, no problem! I have found that addressing is fairly accurate (slight error factor is expected) along most streets. I've also found the majority of the landmarks to be accurate. While I am tailing my "subject," I get a bird's eye view of the entire area, upcoming intersections, landmarks, potential congested areas, etc. I make a wrong turn, get turned around trying to catch my "subject," whatever - all I have to say is "Where am I?" and the computer spits out my exact location, direction and speed. I've also used the routing feature while serving legal documents. This product saves so much time - its paid for itself many times over in just a few weeks. Before I used paper maps or an online mapping program to print localized maps out...all very tedious, time consuming and expensive. Not anymore! For anyone who drives frequently for a living, I'd highly recommend this product!

Delorme, what have you done???!!!!
First off, I have to say, I have been a huge Street Atlas USA fan since version 1.0. Yes, I've been using this program for over 10 years and I used it almost every day and loved it. The last version I used was version 7.0 and the maps were starting to get out of date, so I upgraded to the 2003 version.

It is awful!! Downright awful! First off, the interface is confusing and doesn't follow standard Windows applications. I've gotton use to it, but the user interface is really bad. The help files aren't that good either. Second, the maps look horrible! The detail settings are way off. There is either not enough detail or too much detail. The old versions worked much better. Third, this program is slow as a pig. The old versions were really fast and responsive even on a Pentium 90 Mhz laptop. The version was VERY sluggish on a my Dell Pentium 3 733 Mhz. Although the performance is acceptable now that I have a 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4. They seem to have completly rewritten the software and it [isn't very good]! It's a real shame.
