The arguable king of CD burning is back, and it's got a bag of new tricks. Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum Edition takes you by the hand and leads you through all kinds of CD and DVD creation, from data backups and music compilations to photo slide shows and feature films. User friendly to the last, it comes with a massive manual weighing in at almost 400 pages. Unfortunately, however, beneath the shiny surface of this program hide a few snags.

Burning data and music compilation CDs is simple enough with a "drag to CD" function--you can literally drag files from Windows Explorer onto an icon that resizes in the lower right corner of the desktop. More complex burning and copying can be done through wizards or manually.

For DVD authoring, Roxio includes support for every DVD burning format out there. It allows you to create movies, photo slide shows and more. It interfaces directly with digital video recorders to capture footage to the PC's hard drive, from where you can then burn them to a DVD. You can rearrange parts of a movie, trim clips, add sound, and more. The interface is functional at best, though, and casual film directors will pine for a simpler, more graceful solution than this program can offer.

The PhotoSuite applet's interface is overly friendly and not nearly powerful enough. Adding photos from a networked PC was a painstakingly slow process. Worse, once we'd picked out a few dozen photos, we went to create a VCD slide show and were met with an error message that even baffled Roxio tech support.

Another caveat: Easy CD automatically checks for product updates, but it forces you to register the product in order to download them. This invasion of privacy aside, Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 does provide some easy and user friendly features at the cost of clunky interfaces and limited options for power users.--Joel Durham ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Beats Sonic and Nero hands down
I am very much into burning CD's and now DVD's with the help of Easy CD Creator 6. I have used many other burning software and have nothing but problems. Installing Nero 5 made me lose my drives and I was stuck in Tech Support hell......p. I also tried making VCD and DVD movies with Sonic My DVD and it was a very frustrating experience.

With Creator 6 I was able to capture my video easily, add the content to the DVD Builder layout and I created a DVD with menu's that played perfectly the first time I tried. I am telling you and hope you believe me when I say, this is the easiest CD and DVD burning application available hands down.

I also forgot to mention the MGI photo application that is now owned by Roxio is also bundled as well. The biggest improvement over Creator 4 and 5 is the Audio application Audio Central which lets you rip MP3's and edit the MP3 file and ID Tags which contain all the information of the file. It compares to the audio features of Microsofts media player.

I strongly recommend this suite of burning products to anyone that has a digital camera, video camera, dvd player, or wants to backup or create audio CD's. This application does it all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not very user friendly...or with lack of support services
I have to agree, I am very disappointed with the software and services...don't like the idea of talking to a computer or calling long distance. My biggest problem is losing all audio files when video is copied to DVD. I paid 100 for a DVD of an occasion and when I went to copy with this software, I lost all the original audio tracks on the tape:-(...mine was also buddled with Plextor DVD-burner. I have to think twice before I buy another of these products as I now am shopping for something better to replace this software...I also have Pinnicle and with the rendering and failing to copy over to the DVD, it's just about as bad...customer service is better though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it
All CD&DVD burners tend to be fairly expensive, as usually software is. Comparing this to Nero, Roxio is a sure buy. It is really easy (surprise, surprise) to use, and it looks good.

It is also powerful, in the sense that you can do almost anything with it. You can even cut your music, design menus for your movie DVDs and create your own covers for your CD cases.

It comes with a helpful handbook that helps you deciding on wich application to use (Audio central, Creator Classic etc.).

One thing it lacks is a wizard. Wizards are always nice to use and keep you self-confident that you woun't waste your DVD disk though it is quite hard even without the wizard.

I didn't have any writer probelms, and I am overall happy with the product, though I think that once you buy an expensive DVD burner one has to buy an expensive program as well, though this does make burning so much easier than playing with codes and files and windows. If your looking for an powerful burner, this is what you should buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Save your money...
The best thing about this product is that I got it via eBAY for $15.00. I know now why it was so cheap. The module that I was really interested in, DVD creator, is a total disaster. It is hard to use, confusing, and does not produce repeatable results. Forget about getting help from Roxio. I tried using the email route. About 3 days after submitting a question, you get some form-letter jibberish back, unrelated to the question. I refuse to pay for long distance. I also refuse to buy any more Roxio products, at any price.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Genuine Stinker
I got this software with a terrific Plextar PX-708UP disk drive. Why they include ROXIO I will never understand. Lot's of problems. It doesn't work along with Redxpress Express Copyware 3. After using Redxpress once, the computer would recognize the DVD drive, but the ROXIO program wouldn't. The exact same thing happened with my two machines, both equipped with Windows XP. Don't buy it. Ive consistently found ROXIO products to be low rent. The pits. Go with Nero. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
I researched various design software prior to purcahsing Punch AS3000 and thought I did a good job of doing so...I was wrong. I have been in construction related fields for over 20 years, and feel as though given some instruction, guidleines, etc I can learn almost anything! Purchasing this software proved me to be wrong. Upon making my purchase I learned that there were no "demos" available, this should be warning #1! I pursued it. I was told that I would have 90 day support via phone tech support, which I did, however, when I did call I was treated as though i was truly "bothering" the receiver of my call, and then treated as though they could not believe that I did not know how to do waht I was asking. The manual is basically useless as it does not walk the user through applications in any sort of logical format. The tech support is not helpful, the so called tutorials are also useless. I strongly reccomend that you do not waste your money on this program. My only wish is that I could provide an alternative solution at this time. Each task is cumbersome and most require "custom 3D sorkshop" design which if you have the patience and "creativity" to figure out how to use still do not accomplish the task.

3-0 out of 5 stars Determine Your Patience Level Before You Buy
EXPERIENCE:
I suppose knowing my experience may help to gauge my ability to use the program and help you to decide what you are capable of doing if you purchase this program. I have worked with computers for nearly 20 years. I am a professional graphic designer and web developer. So, I suppose my experience with software would be in the advanced category. However I have never used this program prior to my purchase, but have used other home design and 3D software in my past.

PROS:
Great 3-D walk-through. Fairly descent selection of colors, materials, indoor, and outdoor furniture and landscape design elements. Fun to use if you don't need any custom items that are not in their library. I liked the ability to design more then just the floor plan, such as lighting, deck, plumbing, etc.

CONS:
3D tools seemed to be difficult for the average user. My expectations were not set high, as this is supposed to be a consumer-based product, thus it should be fairly easy to use with direction from the manual. However it lost me! It was several days getting the hang of using it and I still couldn't get basic items designed properly. For example, I needed to create an L-shaped island with sink for the kitchen. It just was not an easy thing to do. Because they did not have such things in their library, I was forced to use the 3D tools (designing from scratch). When creating the object dimensions, it is not easy placing the shape in it's proper location, and it was difficult to get the elevations correct as well. Try putting one of their sinks in your own 3D designed countertop, it just doesn't work well at all! It was truly more work then it should have taken for such a common task. Same thing when applying materials such as wood choices to furniture (albeit furniture was not real important for me) it took much more work then what should be considered a basic task (too many pieces to color within one furniture element). The roof never got quite finished either. I could not get the walls to fit within the dimensions of the roof (or visa-versa) on a 2nd story. I tried so hard, but not being an architect or engineer, I would say that this task requires you to really know what you are doing. It was not discussed well in the manual either. So, was it me, or was it the software with the limitations, I really couldn't tell you.

Needless to say, I got a bit frustrated, and hopefully without sounding like a know-it-all, frustration just doesn't happen to me very often when it comes to design programs. Don't get me wrong, I had those days back when I was learning to use design software, but using a consumer-based program such as this should have been simple for someone with my design background. I don't believe though, that it had to do with being easy or difficult, as much as it had to do with the limitations of the program in my circumstance. But for the newbie, I believe it would be considered a difficult program to use.

MY ADVICE:
If you really need something that covers a lot of ground, but doesn't require a complex design, or complex elements, then this should be fine. However if you don't have the patience or time, and you want to add more custom features to your project, I believe this program is overpriced for your needs, as it will prove to be more work then you bargained for. In fact, although I'm sure they put a lot of money into developing this program, I think it is overpriced for the average consumer trying to design their new home or remodel.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY
I just recently purchased this software and was completely NOT satisfied! This is a very basic program that simply is overpriced. The box looks nice...and it appears that you just purchased something professional...but please believe when I say this is FAR from the truth. They claim to have all these so called wizards, that basically let you change the size of an existing object and a material from a very small list of materials and thats it! For instance I wanted to see how my kitchen would look...well I jumped into the cabinet wizard to find I had only two door styles to choose from...and much worse I could not add molding, millwork, or handles. Sure, if I want to spend hours creating these things in their cubersome and ackward 3D workshop, then I can add them. This is just ONE of many examples. I tried to email my concerns, but four days later I got a reply that they believed their product was highend software. I wanted my money back but they refused and said I should have spent more time researching their product...how is that for customer service? They went on to say this product does not need a guarantee or even a demo version for you to try out...even though they offer a 90 day money back guarantee with all their other products. Save your money or spend a little more and purchase Better Homes and Gardens Home Designer Pro 6...it is far superior in every aspect. AS3000 may claim to have all these features...but let me tell you they all are very basic and limited. This is NOT a professional program...it is a professional scam and waste of your hard earned money! DO NOT BUY! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Well designed and fun photo software
This is a great program for home use. I have tried Adobe Elements and PhotoImpact Pro 8.5and found Arcsoft PhotoImpression 5 far superior in both ease of use and features. Editing is limited but adequate for most homeusers. If you also buy Arcsoft PhotoStudio, it adds all the editing features offered by Adobe Elements and PhotoImpact Pro. Ease of use and fun features, such as great clip art and a well organized photo album, make it the best home photo software I have used. Arcsoft also offers additional software, such as funhouse, which are great add ons.

1-0 out of 5 stars Limited
It's disappointing to spend money on software and later come to realize it has the same suite of features as does many free image-editing websites. Yes, PhotoImpression can rotate a picture. The latest feature? It can remove red-eye! (Again, common features you can find for free on any image-editing website). My OS also had some quirks after installation. After uninstalling PhotoImpression, the quirks went away. I decided to pawn off the software but eventually had to give it away.

I bought this product because it had a reputation of being a "poor man's" PhotoShop that nevertheless came with a robust suite of features. Believe me, you're far better off spending a little more and getting what you really want--a robust application with a complete set of features. It'll save you time, money (and your OS) in the future. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ibackups
order this guy at ibackups.net.
it is only 70$ instead of 700 and you can drag the dowloaded files onto a CD-R to make a installation disc.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beastly (in the good way)
This is a awsome video editing program.\
Very stable, never crashes, and i'v had it for a while.
Its got tons of features and it will take a while to learn all of them, but you can make basic videos by the 2nd day. It reguires a hefty computer, i have a P4 @ 2.4 gigahertz, a lighting fast motherboard, 700 something ram and the program is still asking for more. Dont get me mistaken, it still runs fine, just to get the very very best performance you will need like to gigs of Ram and a 3.2 ghz processor.

5-0 out of 5 stars From a Complete Editting Newbie
I'm fairly computer literate, and bought this software following a friend's recommendation.

I did so about a month after buying my first camcorder, a DV one to be precise. So I think you can take it as read that I knew pretty much nothing going into this - hey, I like flashing the cash!

To be brutally honest, when I first got started with PremierPro I found it pretty daunting, given the sheer volume of possibility it conveys. After a few tips from my friend however I began to experiment once I'd mastered the basics.

I tell you now - if you have a DV camera and make home movies, BUY THIS SOFTWARE!! Never again will your relatives & friends yawn at the bad shots, poor sound quality, bare monotony and dullness of the usual family video.

This software makes me look like I know what I'm doing. I made the mistake when I first used my new camera by making use of the cool effects on it, but realised quickly that there was no need, because I could simply add them later with PremierPro.

To those above who mentioned having difficulty using this, put the manual aside and just experiment! Drag & drop and right-click your way to editting heaven.

I strongly recommend this product to anyone interested in making home movies, not just the Danny Boyles of this world (who used this software to make 28 Days Later!).

5-0 out of 5 stars Advanced video editing
Adobe Premiere is an advanced peice of video editing software. As with most adobe products, the interface is not intuitive and takes time to learn...but it's worth it. Several users have commented about the manual, but I think that the best way to learn anything on computers, ADobe Premiere included, is to teach yourself. You may have to spend a couple hours figuring it out (or, depending on your experience, a couple months...) but when you learn the things you will be able to do are very advanced.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint hearted
If you've never edited video before REGARDLESS of your intellegence, then this program is NOT for you. This is an awsome video editing for anyone who has a basic understanding of editing software. If you have never used this before you will be Lost and never found again. Too bad so sad, thats the fact jack. If you have used a previous version or anything similar, the you will have the biggest orgasm of your life with Premiere Pro. New, smoother MP3 codecs and dynamic plugics make this a winner. I strongly recommend this for an intermediate to advanced editor. For thos out there that though they can just pick it up and sit down without any previous knowledge. Boy didnt you pick the wrong thing ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible program!
This may be a sophificated program, but give me a break! I've spent 2 days trying to just enlarge a snap shot to an 8x10 size ( which I was able to do with my eyes closed with the Adobe photo shop home edition 3.0). But when I got a new printer and Windows XP, I couldn't use the old program. I hate this thing!! Shame on you for making it so user unfriendly. I'll try to get my money back,

1-0 out of 5 stars Can we say ... rip-off???!!!
This software bundle is ... easy to use??? HAH!!! Give me a break!!! Compared to my previous program, using Photoshop Elements 2.0 is EXTREMELY hard. And does Adobe say that it's nothing more than a dumbed down version of the hard to use & expensive Adobe Photoshop? Or that crucial features from that never made it into its cheaper brethren? Of course not!!! If you did, you'd never touch it with a 10 ft. poll!!! And what about how Photoshop Album 2.0 isn't compatible with all imaging formats? I found it REALLY odd that was the case. Especially since Photoshop Elements 2.0 is (Somebody was definitely asleep at the switch.)

The way I see it, you can either give me the best, or don't bother giving it to me at all. Don't take a great product like Adobe Photoshop, dumb it down, then offer it to me, because I'll never buy substandard products. In short, don't waste your money. Go for a program like Ulead PhotoImpact XL. It costs about $25 - $30 cheaper, and it does what it advertises. It's also something that was built, from the ground up, to give you the best value for your money. You just don't get that with this software bundle. What a rip-off!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Too hard
This program is just too time consuming and difficult. Why spend hours and hours trying to do something. The help is not helpful, no support, poor documentation. Big disappointment

5-0 out of 5 stars Photoshop Elements is Outstanding
This software is very well done -- exactly as software should be. The basic features that get you 75% of the way there are completely intuitive, really without using the manual. You can quickly adjust brightness levels of photos, crop, etc.

But behind these simple but powerful starter features are an incredible range of really powerful photo editing tools. I just created an photo party invitation with a picture of our 4 year old and used layers to make it look like the cover of a popular magazine. The help files for the more complex features (texturing, text additions, rotations, etc.) are very clear and easily searched.

This is a "killer app" for photo manipulation, at a great price. I highly recommend it for anyone with a digital camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Both Album and Elements Good!
I disagree with the previous reviewer that said Photoshop Album included in the Photoshop Elements bundle was bad. I am a new digital camera user, and I have been very impressed by both packages in the bundle. Album uses "Tags" which you can attach to your pictures, making it possible to easily sort your pictures by topic, person, date, event, etc. For example, we recently went to the circus, and I imported my pictures to Photoshop Album, and assigned the tags. So, now I can sort out all of the circus pictures from my other pictures, or can sort by date, or by animals, or by family members who went to the circus. With this kind of power, you don't need to worry about where the files are in your directory! Photoshop Album will do some basic editing, and Elements will do advanced editing, and is very helpful in sizing your pictures for printing. I highly recommend both Photoshop Album and Elements. Well worth the money! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

By merging Photoshop sophistication with tutorials and newbie helpers--and offering it at a pocketbook-friendly price--Adobe has created a cool tool for digital shutterbugs. Based on Photoshop 6.0, Photoshop Elements trims the most advanced features from Photoshop and replaces them with buckets of user-friendliness.

The interface, which will feel immediately comfortable to Mac users, is full of hints and helpers. By default, the workspace contains a dynamic hints window that displays nuggets of data and links to more detailed help for each tool your mouse cursor passes over. Tabs displayed above the workspace function similarly to pull-down menus: clicking on one opens a window which covers functions such as file browsing, displaying image revision history, applying effects and filters, and so on. Some even act like Windows-style wizard tutorials.

The most wizard-like among these is the Recipes window, which walks users through the software's hundred or so image editing options with step-by-step instructions. Recipes included with the program deal with the most pedestrian of tasks like color correction and image rotating, all the way up to daring endeavors like colorizing black-and-white photos and creating animated GIF files. More recipes are available via download.

Behind all of these simplicity-centric goodies is a powerful and feature-rich image editing program, and it's crammed with every bit of functionality we've come to expect from Adobe. Ready to deal with every image file format one would likely encounter, its layer management is topnotch (even compared to Paint Shop Pro 7). Photoshop Elements is also able to pare image file sizes down and prep them for immediate Web posting, and its real-time, text-on-image editing is second to none.

Granted, the application lacks some of Photoshop's functionality, such as the ability to output files in CMYK format, although it is able to read CMYK files. Alternately, some of its unique features will make Photoshop owners jealous--like the incredibly smooth Photomerge, which creates a single panorama out of a series of overlapping photos.

If you're looking for a comprehensive, intuitive, and affordable photo editor, Elements proves it can play with the best of them. --Joel Durham, Jr. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Has most of the Photoshop power you probably need
I have used Painter 6.0, Painter Classic, Ulead, and a few other image processing packages that are typically bundled along when you buy a scanner or other digital device. So I am not a complete novice at graphics. From what I can tell, Photoshop Elements is not exactly novice-level because I used some previously acquired knowledge to tweak a photo. And I still had to check the help file to figure out a couple of things that weren't obvious. However, it seems a lot simpler than Photoshop full-version and it wasn't all that hard to get started.

You can do dodging, burning, stitching (putting pictures together, such as panorama sequence shots) and equalization with very much ease. The tool set is not hard to use. The adjustments to the brush sizes are quick and easy--just pull down a size palette and adjust your dodging, blurring or other tool in one click.

Most of the features I would normally use are here, plus the ability to do some artsy stuff like converting a picture to a colored-pencil drawing, adding plug-ins (third party software for effects) and more.

If you are willing to put in a bit of time, maybe get an accessory how-to book, I think this software is a pretty good deal. It is probably most of the Photoshop power most people will need unless they go full-bore into digital imaging. For me, it is more than adequate and I really like it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not user friendly - Must buy some books and study
I have been using MS Photodeluxe for a couple of years now, but it always felt like it was missing something. Everyone said buy Photoshop, but you'll need to take a class on it to understand it (and a loan to pay for the software). Along comes Photoshop Elements with the promise of professional level tools, low cost, and easy to use interface. I jumped on it and unfortunately am a bit disappointed. I will eventually figure it out (after reading some books), but really don't feel it lives up to its hype. The help system is an embarrasment and doesn't follow the standards you see in other windows programs. Within help you can only get basic information. The program was obviously designed for Mac users who spend a lot of time in front of the screen manipulating images. It is not designed for windows users (doesn't follow standard menu layouts) and is not friendly to MS Office applications (ex. Photoshop graphics that have been pasted into Word cannot be edited again in Photoshop... actually they probably can be, but I'm not going to spend another four hours trying to get it to happen). Don't buy it if you are not going to commit a lot of time to learn Adobe products. I thought the days of excessive studying to learn software were over, but Adobe doesn't think so.

4-0 out of 5 stars WARNING: ships configured for Mac
I got this program bundled with a pen tablet and thought "Cool, an upgrade to my PhotoDeluxe". I immediately installed it and used it for about a minute before it crashed. I did a bunch of internet searches (including Adobe's site) to find out if anyone else experienced this...nothing.

Fast forward about six months: I decided to open the program once again and narrowed down the problem to the "eyedropper" or the "color picker". After checking the help menu, there is a tiny paragraph tucked away that says something like "If you're using a Windows machine, change the default Adobe "color picker" to the Windows "color picker". Sure enough, the Abobe color picker was causing the program to crash on my WinXP machine! Seems to me, that there should have been a note somewhere on the outside of the CD warning about this, considering Windows machines are used by at least 80% of the world.

Then...it also took me forever to figure out how to go about outlining objects/selections. Instead of keeping the name "Outline" (like in PhotoDeluxe), Elements changed it to "Stroke" and took it out of the effects list (it's now banished to one of the other drop down menus). Why?

Other than that, it's a great upgrade to PhotoDeluxe that includes a GIF animation maker, a "liquifier" effect (same thing as Kai's "Goo") and tons of other stuff you'll probably never use.

3-0 out of 5 stars Adobe Photoshop Elements
I bought Photoshop Elements about a year ago, after running Adobe PhotoDelux for years. I tried it and did not like it at all. It's much more complex than PhotoDelux and required different commands to do the same operations. I did not want to learn a new photo software editing package. So I stopped using it about a year ago. However, a month ago, I got a new computer (2.8Ghz) running WinXP; unfortunately, XP will NOT run PhotoDelux and Adobe no longer supports it. So I was forced to get out the Photoshop Elements and loaded it on the XP machine. Now I have to learn photo editing all over again. The software runs much faster, which takes some of the pain out of the process, but it is hard to do things that were simple in PhotoDelux. They changed all the keyboard shortcuts (WHY, WHY, WHY did they have to do that??!!!). Some tasks no longer have shortcuts at all and tasks that were one keystroke with PhotoDelux now take many mouse clicks. Some tasks that PhotoDelux did easily, Photoshop Elements does not do at all. For example, it places no free space gutter around pictures, which makes it hard to work on large blow up images at the pixel level. Does not do drop shadows with the shadow as an adjustable layer like PhotoDelux. The list goes on and on. If I had it to do again, I'd probably go with some other software, since I'm having to learn photo editing all over again anyway.

4-0 out of 5 stars Love it
I just got this book and I love it. I don't know why the manuals that come with the programs can't be as informative. I have only read the first two chapters but I have already learned things. The "Oh, yeah" moments, "why didn't I think to do that?" Some of the things I have learned from this book are things I had gone to Adobe's help site and researched without really "getting it". I really recommend this book. It will really help to make using Elements a lot less frustrating. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor technical support for a program with many bugs
Purchased program at full cost. Identified flaw and after trying to correct it myself, I called technical support. They acknowledged that the bug that I identified (Not able to use numbers)had been identified as a problem on some other discs. Instead of sending me a debugged disc, they wasted hours making me retrain another user x2. they were supposed to have me send files so that they could analyze them, the files were never sent . Program often crashes computer. Instead of trying to help technical support was wasting hours of my time trying to figure out the bugs, I am very angry about their rudeness and insensitivity. I still have not had the problem resolved and have lost countless hours of productivity. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I can now organize and retrieve my photos.
Photo Album 4 seems to be a good value. It lets me see my individual images and how they relate to the rest of my collection. I can finally see the forest and the trees of my image collection. Moving images around is a snap. Organizing them with keywords is really cool. And the Titles and Descriptions that move around with the pictures make website building all the easier. Digital image software focusing on editing images as its primary thing just doesn't have the retrieval and organizational features Photo Album has.

Although it can be argued Photo Album is short on editing features, I didn't buy it as an editor. I bought it to organize my digital images and quickly create websites from this organized repositiory.

Photo Album seems to be about letting you, your family, and friends more easily enjoy your digital image collection. I really have had more fun with my images since I downloaded and installed it; especially old images I have rediscovered on my harddrive.

I will buy this at the end of my evaluation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what I want to do fine
I use Jasc Paint Shop Album 4 to store my photos in albums, print photographs and create HTML files to display photos on my hosted space.

I like its red eye repair and crop tool. If quick fix will fix a photo that has minor problems thats great. But most photos are enhanced in adobe photoshop elements 2 ( the brush selection tool is fantastic). Together they do a great job.

The print capabilities are very flexible.
Pick a number of pictures to a page
or a given size picture on a page
or a combination print (various)
or lots of special sizes and paper I don't actually use

After the picture(s) is formatted you can select any one and zoom it in or out, grab it and move it around in the space(great feature).

40 +/- html formats for creating web galleries for your pictures. Many you can change background color, font, etc.
Elements and several other programs I have also create Web Galeries quite easily but I seem to come back to the ones in this program most of the time.

Great tool.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beware of their REBATES
I haven't tried the product yet but I'm disapointed in their advertised rebates. They are quick to deny rebates and it took several calls for me to finally talk to the rebate person. It's a flat denial. I believe the person that talked about the Tech support because if they don't answer rebate issue it's probable true that they don't reply to Tech support questions. The email resolutions is probable not going to work, I had to call customer Svc at 800-622-2793. Just be aware of their REBATES.

1-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointed
Product support for this software is non-existent. Purchased Photo Album 4 specifically to record slide shows with audio onto CD's. It has never worked. I have e-mailed JASC technical support numerous times over the last several weeks without a reply. Very frustrating.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it
I love this product. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. I have easily organized all of my pictures. It took a little bit of time to get all of my pictures organized with the keywords, and description fields but now adding new pictures is a breeze. I love the easy email feature and since I already do all of my editing in Paint Shop Pro, it has become a very nice additional feature. I definately recommend this product ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Streamline 4.0 is an excellent bridge between the worlds of freehand drawing and resolution-independent graphics. At its heart, the software is basically a conversion utility, a tool for importingbitmapped (raster) images and exporting them as vector-based line art.But it's a disservice to the application to downplay what is so simplystated.

The value of Streamline becomes apparent after the firstconversion--it quickens the heart to see a hand-drawn, bitmapped imageimported into a program like Adobe Illustrator, where one can tweak thecurve and width of any line, and scale it up until it fills abillboard.

The process starts with a drawing or image being scannedin or photographed with a digital camera and saved out from a programlike Adobe Photoshop. It is then opened in Streamline (it works withmany file types, including native Photoshop) where the image isconverted to vector lines.

The options for conversion are numerous:control point density, smoothness, line width, stroke or fill, curvesmoothing. Additionally, areas of the original image can be selectivelyconverted, with each area using different conversion settings--some forsmoother, thicker lines, some for rougher, more edgy lines, andvariations thereof. Also, Streamline 4.0 now features a "convert to"command, for converting a roughly drawn shape into a standard shape;for example, a crude egg shape on a cocktail napkin could be convertedto a perfect circle, or four rough strokes into a smooth, evenrectangle. Streamline 4.0 also supports converting colors to vector-based areas of color. One can specify the number of colors touse and which color palette would best match.

Adobe-standard keyboardshortcuts improve one's efficiency with the application, and being ableto drag and drop across applications is a handy feature that anyone cangrow to love.

Freehand drawing on a computer is not as easy orstraightforward as taking pencil to paper--a natural quality islacking, a texture more felt than seen. But graphics software offersfeatures not found in "real-life" art, like the ability to scale animage up and down without losing the sharpness of a line. For anyserious digital artist, Streamline is a must-have. It is one of thosetools that is used the least, but appreciated the most. --MikeCaputo ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Useful tool, but could use more support
I purchased this tool for the purpose of scanning camera-ready Native-American artwork for touch-ups and digital prepress, and found it to work wonderfully well. In the two years since purchasing Streamline, however, I have found that the resulting quality degrades quickly with the quality of input. I still feel as though Adobe could have taken this software package one step further and provided a more robust support for conversion and covered a wider range of export options.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great tool!
I primarily use this product to scan pen or pencil drawings into EPS or AI files for Adobe Illustrator. Works like a charm and is very simple. ... Read more
