Pros and Cons
I recently bought the Hallmark Comedy Card Studio, with hopes of being able to never have to spend the money for great cards again, however, this software is VERY limited. There are only like 5 cards to choose from for "wedding". I don't think there is a good selection for birthday or any other "special occasion." So, if you are looking for a card software for lots of cards, try the Greeting Card Factory Deluxe.

The Greeting Card Factory Deluxe has an endless number of possibilities and if the wording isn't exactly what you want it's easy to swap phrases from another card or add things to personalize each greeting. It's VERY user friendly too!

I must say that the Calendar on the Hallmark Comedy Card Studio is GREAT! I love being able to track all the important dates in my life and have reminders come on my computer a few days in advance so I can get the card in the mail on time! Overall, I don't care for this software as a "Card Creator" but it's great for organizing addresses, bithdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other important dates with a few fun cards as a bounus!

Would love this BUT!!!
I have windows XP--- Do you have Hallmark Comedy Studio that can be used on XP? Or Hallmark Studio software that contains MAXINE? If so, I would like to purchase it A.S.A.P.

Very Fun!
I've really enjoyed working with this software. Although it's not listed for XP, I've had no problems at all. The graphics are cute and it's easy to completely change and personalize the text. It prints beautifully and has several extra features...calendar, address book, reminders...which you may or may not use. Just a very nice way to bring a smile to someone's day.

A real laugh package
Like any card making program this Hallmark product has it's limitations but the contents really makes up for them. Great selection of cards to make. There is a selection of Maxine cards (a personal favorite) as well as many other Hallmark staples.
When you need a card in a hurry and you need it to be funny, this is well worth the price.

Could Be Better
This program has some cute cards you can make. Its not real simple to be creative with it, other than the standard desighns. Most cards you cant c personalize the cover. I copy from this program to Microsoft Home Publishing to have any creative control. ... Read more

A Lot of Fun!
I originally bought this program back in September of 2003, got frustrated with it, and then never picked it up again. That is, until yesterday, when I was looking for an economical way to send out sixty customized announcements. I wasn't crazy about going to a print shop, so I thought I'd give Greeting Card Factory one more try. I was surprised! It's very easy to use, just by tinkering around with it on my own. There are so many cards and projects; I was having so much fun that after I designed my announcements I made yard sale signs! I give it four stars because the manual is almost worthless. That's why I was so frustrated at first. I thought I should read over the manual because I had never used a greeting card program before; I thought it would help. Fortunately this program is really easy to pick up. So, overall I would say this is a great product, but don't expect the manual be of any real help. Other than that, buy it! It's great!

Great value. Great cards.
I own pretty much every program in the greeting card arena. Some are good, some not so good. But Greeting Card Factory Deluxe is probably the best. The cards themselves ar top-notch. Really good stuff. Was a little concerned in that there was no brand name. Would it be as good as Hallmark or American Greetings? Fact is that it's better - much better. Not only are the art and sentiments really first rate, the program is easier to use and much more full featured than anything else out there.

My wife and I love greeting card programs. We save tons of money not buying paper cards, and we like the chance to customize what we send out. But if you're new to greeting card programs and you want to get started with just one software - this is definitely the one to buy.

Great if you want cheap-looking cards
You can create the same results with Microsoft Word. The most obvious card, like you could find at any Eckerd drugs, is not possible with this program. Save your money.

Worth Every Dollar
Greeting Card Factory Deluxe 2 is great. My wife, 4 year old daughter, and I created several thank you card designs within a few minutes of installing the CD. Since installing, we have used it at least twice a month without any trouble whatsoever. I have tried other greeting card makers and print products, but this has been by far the easiest to use. Even my four year old can make good looking cards without any help. I would have paid double for this.

Not worth $10 let alone $50!!!
After reading all of the wonderfully promissed things on the box of this software (i.e. "Easy to Use!", "Millions of Unique Possibilities", "No other Greeting Card Software Compares") I was convinced that this was the software for me. After taking it home and spending over 3 hours trying to accomplish the most simple task - creating basic address labels - I gave up and looked on my desktop to see if any software that came with my computer would do the same thing. I opened up Microsoft Publishing for the first time ever and within 45 minutes, not only created my labels, but customized each one, and printed them perfect the first try! Back to Nova: the help is of no help at all and the software is not intuitive at all. There are suggestions of how to do things but no step by step, click here, etc. directions. Then I perused the graphics to see if the software was worth holding on to for that, and NO WAY! Their millions of customized graphics are terrible! Old, outdated, primative. I did not see one that I liked! I'm returning the software as there is a guarantee but I do not get some $6 to $7 back for taxes paid, and shipping. Argh! ... Read more

Could Have been great.
I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this program. I was interested in holiday cards, but I was looking for Easter, Valentines Day & Halloween. I assumed holidays would include all. Not the case, very few cards for these holidays and not any sentiments for them. The selection for Christmas cards looks to be very good if that is what you are looking for. I am disappointed and will find very little use for this program. I had a little trouble downloading the program and uninstalling was a nightmare. Had to do manually. I tried to determine by the box what holidays were included but the advertisment said pick your holiday, better info on the box would be great.

Instalation Problems
I was very excited about this product after using the predecessor. But when I went to install it I had continual problems. Finally it damaged my kerner driver, needed to install programs. I can not get it reinstored or replaced and I have tried everytyhing they have suggested. I notified customer service and received two blanket fixes - neither of which worked and now I have never heard from them again. I'm very dissapointed in the fact this program damaged my compputer, and that customer service is only cursury at best. I have windows Milinniem edition with more that ample resources. I can not recommend purchase of this program at this time.

Fun card program!
My only complaint about this card program is that is says "Holiday" cards but it's not all holidays. When I think of the word holiday, I think of Easter, Halloween, Valentines, Christmas, etc. But what the box doesn't tell you is that the cards are only winter holidays. I have several other card programs and bought this one for additional Easter, Valentines, & other non-Christmas cards, so I'm kind of disappointed. Buyer Beware!
I contacted customer service to have my *lemon* piece of software replaced (it stopped working)... and even with repeated requests never did hear from them. I finally purchase Sure Thing CD labeller and it works beautifully... and covers the CD!

Too Small Labels

Creatacard Platinum 6.0
I have used Creatacard from the beginning when it first came out. As the versions have come along, they have made many improvements. It takes a little bit to get to know the in's & outs of the program but it's well worth the time. I have not purchased a store-bought card in I don't know how long. I especially like being able to start with one of their cards & make it my own (especially when I can change just about anything I want to (like the verse, artwork, or the size of the card). I spend many hours playing with the program. I have been able to make some very beautiful cards. I would recommend the program to anyone who is willing to sit down with it and learn it. You can create some really beautiful cards.

Never Recieved
The software really looks like I could have fun with it. If only it would arrive, I'd be all set. I think it's pathetic that companies can get your electronic payment in 60 seconds, but they make you wait weeks for your stuff. I really needed this right away for my son's birthday party. Don't get me wrong, it's not the product thats bad, it's softwareoutlet.com! If it's not in stock, why do I have to pay for it? I could get it somewhere else, but that's the trick, they don't tell you it's not in stock until AFTER they get your money. Amazon is just as bad in this case because when I tried to cancel the order, I got a message that I couldn't because it was already processed. IN 60 SECONDS! How do you process something that isn't even available? These businesses need to get it together!

Can't even get it to load
I have a new computer with Windows 2000. I can't even get the install program to work - it freezes right past the first splash screen. I had high hopes for this and I'm really disappointed.

Love It.
American Greeting Platinum 6.0 is very user friendly. Just install and start creating cards. Your creativity is without limits...

CreateACard 6.0 not completely compatible with XP
I have had this program since fall of 2001 and love it as far as the clipart, etc. goes! When we installed Windows XP, we found that it is not completely compatible. For instance, the envelopes will not print correctly, and the print wizard for the cards, won't set up properly. I have to print all envelopes from Word. I have never been able to send an electronic greeting, maybe because I have a broadband server, I don't know. Also, it is impossible to import a picture from it into an email. Twice I have had the program 'crash' and had to reinstall it. ... Read more

Money well spent!
I am a third grade Sunday School teacher who is always searching for something new and exciting. This program was well worth the money. I received my CD last week and already have made more than ten projects. The graphics are refreshingly new with dozens of ideas in which to use them. The only problems I have encountered so far is that some of the projects are difficult to design, and if you are looking for projects for the older age group you may be disappointed. I am currently working on putting together a few fundraising projects for my church. You are only limited by your own imagination with this program.

Disappointing
I teach 3-5 year olds, and was so excited to see this product,but I guess I was hoping for too much. I needed some good stuff foran Easter lesson and there were only 3 projects/graphics to choose from. I was also very disappointed in the small selection of coloring pages available. For the price they should have a lot more graphics and projects. It almost seems that the whole program is geared toward getting you to purchase add-on packs. The one thing that I did like, however, was the door-hangers you can make. But, that kind of project is NOT worth the price. ... Read more

Will not print - No support
I had an older version of Print Artist and just purchased version 2003. My wife tried to print a simple card she made with disastrous results. After some investigation I found that this is a known bug which Sierra refuses to fix since they have discontinued this product. The program simple does not work. I learned of a complicated workaround where you put a transparent gif on every page to make it print correctly. I tried to return the product to Amazon but my 30 days had just run out and the only recourse was to sell a faulty program to some other unsuspecting person which I won't do.

Best print program I have every used.
I've used my Print Artist kit and love it. It has so many features that are simple and easy to use. Doesn't take long to get the hang of it. I would recommend it to all who like to do their own desktop publishing. Used the clip art for cartoon fish for my grandson's nursery walls. They turned out extraordinary. There is just no limit to the things you can use it for. Great product.

requires prior knowledge of print artist
after using print artist 4.0 version... this new upgrade requires the knowledge of an EINSTEIN. Where are the printed manuals we used to obtain in past years? Its sad to have to figure out step-by-step how? what? where? .This took me time to figure out....DO I INSTALL THE 6 CD'S ENCLOSED? DO I STOP INSTALLING WHEN CD # 3 TOLD ME TO STOP? If I did not have the highest respect for Print Artist... I would surely have given up by now. It had taken me 2-3 hours to figure the software out. still having problems. My advice... If there is a better label program I'd like to see it
I've used many labeling programs over the years and SureThing wins hands down. The best thing about SureThing is how many pre-printed stock labels it supports. No matter what brand of CD labels, insert cards, etc that you buy, chances are SureThing has a template for it right there in the menu. One of the things I find most frustrating with other programs is the lack of out of the box support. Sometimes a certain label stock gets discontinued or becomes hard to find and you're forced to switch. Other times genertic labels that are just as good are much cheaper than some of the known brands, so to have a program that supports almost everything will cut down on the frustration time. SyreThing is also updated regularly. Very good especially the support for new labels that come out. If you're connected to the net you can check for updates from within the program and download them from the SureThing's web site.

The interface looks very attractive and more importantly it's very functional and easy to use. Another labeling program I used has a great looking interface but it was very slow, even on my Pentium4 2.0 GHZ system with 1000MB of RAM. The built-in selection of background images that comes with SureThing are very nice. You can have quick professional looking labels with just a few clicks. Also all the images can be used on every single template, which is great if you want to create a set of labels that actually match. I've noticed other programs will give you template images for a CD, but you can't use that same image for the case without losing quality. All in all, this is the best labeling software I've used, and well worth the price. SureThing has a fully functional 15-day free trial version of the program available for downloading at their web site. Try before you buy.

I have version 3
I dont know about this version but im telling you Version 3 is simply the best labelling product around. Mostly it is because of the magnificent amount of background art but once you start to get a hang of the program (it took a good while) You will love it because it is very versatile. I expect people complain for the same reasons...i.e I was very confused when I started working with the program... Now I really love it.

Warning: Not for Windows NT
As far as functionality goes - I never got the CD labels to line up perfectly on the paper. But there were a few tweaks that I never bothered with.
Most importantly, I want to mention that Windows NT is NOT a supported operating system for this product. Amazon is just plain wrong to list Windows NT. Go to the manufacturer's web site if you want to verify for yourself.
What will happen if you use Windows NT? I used it with Windows NT 4.0 SP 6. Many programs leave some pending operations for the OS to execute the next time it reboots, that's why you see that "you must reboot your computer for all changes to take effect" on a lot of programs. With Win NT 4 SP6 the operations will ruin the hard drive. Totally, physically destroy. Completely unrecoverable. I trashed 4 hard drives (all under warranty) before I finally figured out the culprit.
I posted my problem to the forums from SureThing and got a response asking if my computer could really handle writing to a CD - they thought I might be taxing my computer too much. Well, the computer I was using was a brand new Dell Workstation (purchased 2002). Not a Dell desktop, but a workstation. The kind of computer you can only get by clicking on the "medium or large business" link on Dell's web site.
I was able to get the software to work find in Windows 2000. I was using two separate hard drives on the Dell workstation. Due to customer requirements, some software had to be built on Windows NT 4 SP 6.

"Never Write A Song Title Again".....WRONG
I bought this software primarily to create playlists. The documentation that comes with the product is a joke. As with most software, you are forced to rely on the "Help" tab. After going through the tutorials, and finally saving the playlist from a CD, there is nothing that explains how to transfer the playlist to the "Jewel Case Front Panel (1 of 1)" that appears when the program opens. Not that you would necessarily want the playlist on the front panel anyway. Also there is nothing that gives a clue as to how to switch from the "Jewel Case Front Panel (1 of 1)" to "Back Insert" , or "Front Insert", etc. When I finally was able to paste a playlist on to the front panel, it was in a most unattactive format. So, "never having to type a playlist again" would have required deleting and retyping everything that was there.

If you need to make CD labels, this is just great
I can't say enough good things about this software. I had the previous version and it was quite good. I opened the box, installed it, and in about 10 minutes, I had an original art label for my backup CD's. Version 4.0. is an excellent upgrade, especially the new feature that lets you preview your cd label. If you don't have your own artwork, you can use the many textures, patterns and clip art included.

The software comes with a sample of SureThing's own cd labels, and these are very good quality. But if you get your labels at an office supply or mail order shop and they don't stock SureThing, you can either find the template for other commonly-stocked brands, or create your own custom configuration. You can either take an existing template and modify it, or start with a clean slate and set up disk, hub, jewel case and end label configurations. This is not as easy as some of the other features, but I did try this with a Brand X label not included in the templates, modify the dimensions and print a decent label. ... Read more

From envelopes to business items to nut cups, the 63 projects here arrive with preloaded templates, themes, and stock images to manipulate creatively. Wow! This is just what I'm looking for, I have searched the local stores for months for various software to make my own cards. I am very picky when it comes to sending cards to family and friends, the card needs to be special, heartfelt, and above all else, it needs to have a spiritual message in it.
