Hate it, Hate it, HATE IT!!!
This is by far the worst calendar program EVER! I absolutely abhor it. It is not at all user friendly. It randomly prints boxes where you didn't create them. The functionality to move calendar entries from one month to another doesn't exist...you have delete the entry and completely recreate. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with it because my boss likes the way it looks...too bad he doesn't have to struggle with it!

Broderbund Ignores Customers
The Calendar Creator product is useless for all but the very lucky. The software appears to be impossible to install without customer support and there IS NO customer support. It has proven to be impossible getting any help at all from Broderbund either on-line or by phone. We have been trying for two months and have spent almost as much in long distance charges (all of it on hold) as we spent on the product. Steer Clear!

Frustrating
In order to use this software it seems one would need to have a degree in graphic information technology and I'm not sure even that person would be able to use it. DON'T BUY IT
Picked it up as an impulse buy at Staples.

EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING to use. Almost works. Date entry fields are way messed up. Can't correctly set date range to print. Can't set Event dates in a reasonable fashion.

CCv8 is a POS. As much as it pains me to say it, I must recommend that people use MS Outlook instead...

Too many bugs
I have been using Calendar Creator Deluxe for several years over many releases. Each version gets more difficult to configure. I had finally solved the many problem in ver. 7 when 8 appeared and I foolishly switched, bad move. Ver. 9 has just been released and I am going to try once more, if it is this bad I give up!

Lots of glitches:
Compatibility problems with XP - despite claimed compatiblity. Doesn't work with my newest print drivers - had to load old drivers. Formatting text is more difficult than with older versions - tab key doesn't function properly.

I'm going to buy version 7.0 & eat the [money] loss & hope I can get 7.0 to run on XP (emulating an earlier version of Windows).

Old versions were much better
We've been using Caldendar Creator for many years and because of a computer upgrade had to go to the newest version. It leaves a great deal of white space because you are forced to have each event either boxed or bannered. I called the company to see if I was missing something that I could change to decrease the white space so the print will get larger and the person on tech support was rude. I hope they lose that feature in the next version. In the meantime, I am trying to find an old computer to install the old version on. ... Read more

Don't bother ...
This product doesn't even deserve a star. Printing blank calendars is even a challenge. Some calendars don't work properly and upcoming holidays don't match the right dates. What a complete waste of time and money!

Not A Happy Camper!
I used Calender Creator 4.0 and was very satisfied with the performance of the software. I had to upgrade due conflicts with printing and my operating system. After several hours with the tech support people, I have come to the conclusion, dust off the old computer which operated under Windows 95, reload the 4.0 version and be satisfied once more...I do not recommend this software.

Works Poorly with Other Applications
I've used this title for years, and was drawn into buying this particular version by the claims of PDA compatibility. When I received the product and installed it, I learned that in the help section that "certain features of Calendar Creator and the Palm handhelds are not fully compatible, and may affect your data when synchronized." What an understatement!

My Palm (a Tungsten T) would not accept the repeating events from Calendar Creator. Then to add insult to injury the synchronization process actually CHANGED the CC9 events I had entered! It is bad enough that a Palm will not accept some CC9 events, contrary to the product advertisements. To modify the CC9 events in the CC9 program itself is a serious flaw in the software.

Calendar Creator does well as a stand-alone product. When I have tried to use it with another application however, it fails repeatedly. Upgrading to this version is definitely a waste of money.

Don't waste your time with this
This is great if all you want to do is print blank calendars. Forget about trying to put in repeating appointments or events. Lots of great sounding features - too bad they don't work on any of the Windows operating systems. They had a great product years and years ago, but have gone downhill ever since. Don't waste your time or money with this program.

Don't bother!

Not exactly what I thought it would be

Calendars yes, easy no
This program offers calendar making with a multitude of options, maybe too many options. I have owned several versions of this program and each upgrade allow more and more customization of calendars. The problem comes trying to remember all the things you can do. What saves the program is the basic templates for calendars are very good and answer most needs. What I especially enjoyed was being able to add re-occurring events like birthdays and anniversaries so as to be reminded of them with icons to individualize events. Buyer Beware
I bought this software locally, and tried to install it yesterday. Instructions say to shut down any background programs when installing in Windows ME, which I did. Not only did the software not install--although there were noises and blinking lights--the process somehow made my CD and DVD drives "undetectable" by my computer, just as if they didn't exist. Upon going to the support URL listed on the package, I found out the product is no longer supported, so if there's a problem you're on your own. I got my drives back through system restore and Windows Update.

So, be careful with this one, especially if you have any of the newer Windows OS's; it was evidently made for the older ones and has compatibility problems. I was surprised and disappointed, because I've had good luck with Broderbund before.

Great version of a great product
Glad to be back in the calendar business again!!! This is one of the best calendar packages out there, and I highly recommend it.I started using calendar creator with DOS way back and loved it. The first windows versions were decent, then with version 5 the software became so buggy it wasn't worth it. It seems with verion 8 though, they have managed to overcome most of their problems. I'm running it on windows 98 and having good luck. It is a little complicated for someone unaccustomed to the software, but once you figure it out, all the features really add to the flexability. I'm hoping the newer versions add a few more features, but this one works well and I'm pleased!

A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad piece of software.
I bought this product to make family calendars and have found it useless. My biggest beef? You can't have more than one event on a date -- it appears on as "overflow" that you must print as an additional sheet! How many families do you know with no overlapping birthdays or anniversaries?

can 't set the dates!
I really hate this product. It defaults to the start date of whenever *today* is, and I'm trying to work on a project for 2004. It's awful and I'm not sure whether to upgrade and discover they've improved it, or to look elsewhere. This program is really not worth purchasing, IMO.

I HATE IT!!
I finally had to upgrade since my old version wouldn't run on XP. This one runs but printing is a total pain-in-the-butt! Unlike the other reviewer, I did manage to get it to print, sort of. (Maybe I have a different LexMark printer.) But overall, the whole package stinks!! Learning curve is horrible. Nothing is intuitive! Events keeps rescheduling themselves. Defaults don't work. If all you want to do is print out pretty calendars with nothing on them, then fine. It's cheap. Go for it. Maybe it will work. If you want one place to keep track of your life, maybe it will work. Will not install using XP
I could not get Calendar Creator 9 to install on my Dell using Windows XP.

This item has a lot of variety! You have to take the time to go through all that is offered .... the help page tells you all you need to do as far as details.
I would buy this item again.
I would have found it more helpful to have a manual instead of the online help. It's more convenient than having to log online to use the help button.

Gets worse with every version
The Calendar Creator 9 packaging lists among features: "Save as HTML, Bitmap or JPEG." After you install it, you find that this feature is available only in the Deluxe Edition. I can't get CC9 (or CC8) to print correctly in PCL or Postscript. I didn't have these problems in the early versions.

DO NOT BUY THIS!
I've never seen such a blatant display of false advertising. The box says "Save as HTML, Bitmap, or JPEG", and when you run the software you find that you can't save in any of the those formats. Go to their website and it will tell you this option is not available with Calendar Creator 9, but if you buy the Deluxe version...

Even if you don't care about this feature, please don't let such a ripoff go unpunished. Who knows what other shortcuts they took? There's plenty of calendar software out there - try something else.

Lost Touch
I've used Calendar Creator since it first came out and it was a wonderful product until taken over by the big software companies. Not only has it become more difficult to install and use, technical support has fallen to the worst I've had experience to use. The older versions would allow you to print horizontal half-page calendars which allowed for more room for daily comments. I've called technical support several time to try to work this out in versions 7 & 8 with no response. If it does it, they won't tell you. What's the alternative? I haven't found one yet. ... They Coulda Done Better
I've used most versions of Calendar Creator since version 1. I recently upgraded to Calendar Creator 8 from version 4 because version 4 won't run under Windows XP. I found that version 8 wouldn't import my version 4 data. I find version 8 much harder and less intuitive to use than the older versions. The box says it'll export data for use in a webpage. Wrong. Ya gotta spend extra for the deluxe version for that.

This may be OK for home users
This product may serve a home user fine. But in our network we cannot have our users needing administrative rights just to use this product. It is poorly written code in my opinion.

Limited Use
I can't believe they couldn't do better. This program looks like it was written 10 or 12 years ago. If you are a complete newbie you may find this easy to use software a good place to start. If you want to be creative - look elsewhere.

It's OK...but, I hoped for better.
As long as you are happy with the default templates, this program does fine. It makes some nice calendars and is easy to use right out of the box. Just don't try to customize anything. Changing cell size, adding multiple images, deleting cells, or changing the page setup is impossible. Changing printer output is challenging. All you get is the CD - no user guide. Who wants to print help files? I haven't purchased any other Calendar maker software, so I can't compare it. Maybe the deluxe version is better, but I'll try another program instead. ... Read more

Complete Calendar Kit
I was very disappointed in this software. The box does not give much information so I thought it was something similar to Calendar Creator which I also have but do not like its buginess.
Data Becker's website is also very limited in its information about the product. It does make calendars (not the kind I need)but it is not very intuitive and makes what should be simple chores difficult.
I mentioned this to my brother via email and he said he's always had problems with Data Becker software. I wish I knew that before I bought this thing. ... Read more

FANTASTIC

It is what it says it is - an ACTIVITY STUDIO
Come on, folks! Read before you buy. It is clearly labled as an activity studio, not a game.

Don't give it bad marks because you goofed. The product is great for it's price. I collect the trading card game cards by Decipher and the movie cards by Topps. My problem was that I had been looking for cool LOTR-themed binders to store them in without any luck. I've had to settle on those binders with the clear plastic sleeves on the outside covers. Unfortunately, I hadn't been able to find good images to print out and insert into those sleeves. Then I stumbled across this software and my problem was solved.

I'm a happy camper.

HUGE disappointment
Don't bother. Very little of substance in this package. Definitely not worth the price. Buy the DVD instead.

Only kid stuff!
Don't waste your money on this unless you're buying it for kids - all it contains as far as artwork is about a dozen different photographs. Granted, you can print them as a number of different things like calendars, but there are no other options re artwork, and all the images come out with movie ads printed over them I was entertained for about five minutes! There should be a suggested age range for both this and the companion "Two Towers" software.

Prints good, doesn't contain all features on package
The program prints very good pictures but does not contain everything on the package. The cd I received said it was a "Lite" version. I contacted IMSI, and they referred me to another company to call. This other company wanted a credit card for tech support information before I could talk to a live person.
