Not good Japanese -English transration
I am a Japanese]English bilingual. I was searching for Japanse-Engilsh translation software for my friend to use. I tried only used Japanese-English, English-Japanese transration part of the software. I was hoping that this would do 70% of the transration correctry but I found that it did less than 10% of the transration. I could not make use out of this software.

Good Translation Software
I have tried numerous translation software products and have found that Easy Translator 4 is the best one out there. This is great for getting translations of email, web pages, Microsoft Word documents, text documents, and any other text that can be entered into a computer. Accuracy in ALL translation software is not 100% but I was able to comprehend all translations done by this software to a very high degree of understanding. Easy Translator 4 gets a five-star rating because it is the best translation software out there.

Extremely Useful
This language translation program is so useful. The translations are not perfectly exact but close enough that you can tell what is being said without much error at all. Any text you read on a computer or can type into one can be translated between seven languages ( English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese). I really found this useful for going to web pages written in another language, emails to foreign colleagues and just with translation in general. Overall, this program is great and I would highly recomend it for anyone who needs translation software.

Disappointed

Absolute garbage!
I had the opportunity of trying the software and found that this and other English to Spanish translating programs might look useful to those who have no knowledge of the Spanish language whatsoever. The translation of text was completely incorrect in all the cases I tried. Translation of single words may be correct, but then they should just make a bilingual dictionary in a CD-ROM at a lower price.

bad translations
I just bought Easy Translator to help translate an article in French that I want to read. Easy translator messes up on even very basic grammatical constructions. It doesn't understand the "to be" verbs. You can get better translations by going to various web sites that offer free translations.

Don't waste your money on Easy Translator 3.

Very poor translations
I was trying to translate a scientific article written in French. I do know a small amount of French and I know Spanish. The free translators at various web sites were too restrictive because I couldn't save and edit the document easily. So, I decided to try Easy Translator 3. It is terrible. It doesn't understand even very basic grammar and produces awful translations. You will do better with AltaVista's free web translations than with Easy Translator 3.

Extremely Useful!!!!
I bought this product out of general intrest and it is great. I would say this is extremely useful for travel and just in general if you want to learn some languages. It offers 31 languages, some common ones like English & Spanish and some more obscure ones like Zulu & Thai. I really could not get enough of this product because I found it to be very fun to use and also very intriguing.

Really Good
I found 31 Languages of the World to be a very good and useful product. I travel all over the world very often for business and find it quite useful to be able to speak at least some of the native language of the place I am traveling to. With this product I am able to learn a variety of languages through interactive games and activites. I found this to be very useful for pronunciation and learning situation based conversations (like how to buy a plane ticket or asking for directions). Anyone looking to learn multiple languages should start here. This is a versatile and good product for language learning in general.

I was pleasantly surprised.
I hadn't found much info on this program online, so I was a little scared to use it. I got it to help teach me Korean. I wasn't able to find a reasonably priced & well rated dedicated language package for that. I found this one, but I kept thinking "A $...piece of software for 31 languages, it's going to have almost nothing for the one language out of those I want."

I was happy with the purchase (mainly because I plan to use the French portion too). The Korean section is a little light in the tooth, but it is sufficient to help learn pronounciation and some vocab and phrases. My girlfirend is Korean and she tells me it is accurate.

This program won't teach you the language, it's more of a phrasebook taken to the next level w/ feedback. You'll probably need a good college text book if you are serious about learning, but it is a good supplemental aide. I'm not sure [someone] was talking about there being no instructions, it's really straight forward enough you shouldn't need more instructions than it gives.

Not quite what it seems
I was very disappointed with the 31 languages of the world software. There were no directions provided except for little tips when you open the program, making it extremely hard to follow. I have been a spanish student for about 3 years now, and I couldn't even figure out the answers to the games for the Spanish section. The answers were not related and were either too simplistic (such as the way to say "the") or too confusing to even guess. As for the learning sections, all they are are paragraphs written in the foriegn language and translated on the bottom. You can click on each word to see individually what they mean, but it is extremely hard to grasp the language in ways you would learn in the classroom (like the different verb tenses, set vocabulary lists, etc). I felt the program had no format and did not help me at all. I would not recommend buying this software. If you are serious about learning a language, I would try one of the more expenseive, single-language software programs instead, or sign up for classes somewhere. ... Read more

Shockingly poor quality
I tried using this product to make a rough translation of a few articles. I hoped that I could then just read through them, correct a few errors and be done. The results were however of shockingly poor quality. It translated sentences like "If this was working, there wouldn't be a problem" to Dutch and when I translate back to English they read "This working there not it be problem" which didn't make any more sense than it did in Dutch. As you can see it costs more time to correct the mistakes than to just translate it manually. It can't even be used to understand a foreign text correctly because the syntax and tenses are jumbled seemingly randomly. Very poor program, but at least a brave attempt at a very complex problem. Also interesting to learn from their mistakes if you intend to make a similar program yourself.

Strange situations
I bought the Deluxe version of this product for the Korean translations. I have never had problems and when I tested it in Korean, I typed a complicated sentence and asked my wife(who is full blooded Korean, little english skills) what it said, she stated exactly what I typed. I hid what I typed so she did not know. When I asked about the level two for the deluxe version, they sent me the level 2 Korean at cost but stated that my deluxe was outdated for that level and sent me a full version of 2000 without extra cost. I did not know at the time what had happened and questioned them on it. They said it was not a mistake, the updated 2000 version was compliments for purchasing their product. Even the ocr works great with every peripheral I have installed. My only complaint was, that you have to use an American OS to install so I could not give the extra copies to my niece(korean) no english skills since she has Korean windows. The rebate that they offered to me was for a free level two version of any language I wanted, which I got in Japanese since some korean is based on japanese/chinese. It even gave me access to the chinese at no extra cost. This was for the deluxe version but would release in 2000 as well. I am surprised to hear of all the problems everyone else has had. I own several Korean language programs and this one is the best in translations. Korean is very hard to write translation programs for but this one did alot more than I expected. I just wish they could come up with a level 3 like the other languages but being in Korea, I know how hard that is. Even the Koreans have had trouble creating a language translator until recently. Within the last few months but even that is still touristy, not business-like.

I want my money back!

Terrible
The worst piece of software I have ever used. Totally misleading. Does not come close to working as advertised. I don't believe this program is intended to work. It looks like a come on to purchase "advanced" versions and make you spend more money. Don't even consider this program.

Major disappointment
I had a previous version of Easy Language, with only four languages on it. Unfortunately, the software and Windows XP don't get along, so I ordered the newest edition of Easy Language. I was looking forward to the same level of quality. Boy, was I wrong. Sure, there's 61 languages. And the sound quality is so bad, you can't understand a word that's being said. For all I know, they're only using one language, and I just can't tell the difference. Graphics- poor. Ease of use- poor. No nice little tutorial to show you how to use the CD. No Pip. Appearence- elementary. The wallpaper reminds me of when I first tried to teach myself HTML. Big disappointment. I recommend- DO NOT BUY.
