5-0 out of 5 stars It's all about coaching
Successful scoring on the GRE has less to do with what you know, and more to do with your preparation. This software got results for me. My results were similar to other reviews on this site. The diagnostic test, lessons, flash cards, and practice tests simulate the real test VERY well. I highly recommend this software. If you take the time to follow the software's recommendations, you will find the coaching pays dividends.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing and Inaccurate
This review applys to the GMAT software included in this software bundle. I was quite frustrated with this software. Yes, there are some good lessons and practice tests here, but I think your money might be better spent buying a book and using the FREE software provided by the GMAT organization. The navigation and sophistication of this tool were disappointing. Examples of this include the following points: 1) Navigation is extremely unintuative. Expect to spend a couple of hours learning how to use the software. This is especially frustrating because what could be an easy tool is made difficult by the unneeded flash of a confusing interface. 2) When you are taking a test there is no explanation of how long the test will take. Some are short, some mid length, others the are the same length as the GMAT test. The full length practice tests are obvious in their length but the others keep you guessing. 3) There is no way to print out lessons worthy of later review. You can review the test problems you miss, but you can't print them out for later review. 4) The software is slow. I understand some lag while the test software attempts to figure out the next question, but waiting between menus seems ludicrous. 5)Worst of all, the software was rating me at a level over 100 points less then what I actually ended up receiving on the GMAT. I took the PowerPrep sample test given out free by the GMAT organization (see their website) and it scored me within 10 points.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty helpful, but a little corny
This program wasn't too bad, but it did seem to take quite a while and I didn't find it very easy to pick out one thing I really wanted to work on. Also the guides are pretty boring and corny. I just wanted to dive into it and not deal with the "foo-foo" stuff. I was mainly looking for geometry help since I never have taken a geometry class in my life (including high school). I do think it improved my overall score in the verbal and analytical sections. As for the math, I would have done fine IF I hadn't gotten a ton of geometry questions. I think 75% of my math section was geometry. Murphy's Law I guess. My original scores when I first took the Kaplan test were V=490 A=650 M=400. My final scores from the actual GRE test were V=560 A=790 M=500 just for reference.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worked great for the GRE
The primary thing I would change about this program is the stupid cartoony interface and the constant need to hit ESC to forward through the little animations and movies. I also wish it came with a regular test booklet for the times when you want to get away from the computer.

I used this product for the general GRE. I found the testing diagnostics helpful for developing a studying strategy, with which I was able to address my most serious weak points. I studied for about a month leading up to the GRE, and was very pleased with my score. The practice tests I took with this program gave me a really good sense of time and pace, and I was actually surprised when the real GRE ended at how much surplus energy I still had. Incidentally, I scored much better than the program had predicted I would, and likewise I found the practice questions slightly more difficult on the whole than the actual test.

This is a good product for someone like me: a couple/few years out of college and eons since basic requirement classes, or someone who usually tests pretty well but who needs a crash refresher on standardized testing, or someone who is new to the computer-based test thing (I have a hard time thinking while looking at a screen). Caution though: I'd also recommend that this program be augmented with some good old book studying too, or you could be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best way to study for the GMAT
I used this software for the GMAT CAT and I can certainly say that it helped me a great deal. For starters, the test interface is almost exactly the same as the actual GMAT CAT. This is really the only way to study for a test that you must take on a computer. Working from a book, you won't get the same emphasis on the timing. That is where it really helped me. I learned how long it takes to get through the test and where I should spend more time and where I should move a little more quickly. The interface is a little confusing but once you click around a bit you get the hang of it. The tips they give about the way to approach each type of question are quite good. Using these approaches I was more confident about certain answers which allowed me to move quickly through most answers and save enough time to really work on the head scratchers. Be advised that the score you get on the included CDs will be much lower than the score you will get on the actual test. The reason is the practice tests seem to give a lot more hard questions than the actual GMAT. But I think that's a good thing. Everybody knows that the best way to learn is to make mistakes and learn you will. I also downloaded the free PowerPrep software from ETS but since they only give you 2 full length tests I used them for before and after tests. On the first Powerprep test I scored a 700. On the CD tests I generally scored in the mid-600's. After finishing the CD (my only study material), I took the other Powerprep and got a 750. When I took the actual GMAT I scored a 760. ... Amazon.com Review

If you're looking to go to graduate school, you know you probably haveto take a standardized test. Even if you're not sure which test to take, thegood news is that with Kaplan's Higher Score series, you only have to buy onepackage. Perhaps if you sample all three tests, your decision on which field ofstudy to enter will be that much easier. While you're at it, Kaplan will try tomake the experience fun.

Regardless of the test you'll take, the program starts out with a tour of thefeatures. These features include a personalized study program, sample tests withas-real-as-can-be test-taking environments, games, flash cards, links toKaplan's Web site, test-taking hints and strategies, and admissions informationon choosing a school and submitting your applications.

For example, if you're preparing for the GMAT, you'll start by taking adiagnostic test and entering your probable test date. From that point, Kaplan'sprogram sets up a course of study based on your weak points, and provideslessons and test-taking tips. All along the way, you can skip lessons, retakelessons, or take a practice test. For the GMAT, Kaplan offers four simulated CATtests, nine math practice tests, and nine verbal practice tests. You can alsostudy using more than 200 flash cards, 15 math review lessons, and sixquestion-type tutorials. With a detailed scoring analysis that shows not only how you didon each section, but how often you changed right answers to wrong ones, thisportion of the program offers exceptionally strong coaching.

The admissions section has really come a long way from your days of applying toundergraduate school. Brimming with current selection statistics and more than400 links to graduate schools, it may even help you find a school you neverconsidered or never thought you could get into.

The deluxe version also comes with Kaplan To Go GMAT and GRE prep software forPalm OS, and Newsweek business and law school admission guides, withexpert advice on getting into the business or law school of your choice.

After taking the obligatory diagnostic test, Kaplan puts you on a set course ofstudy, or allows you to deviate from that path and spend time on the subjectsthat appeal to you. While the cartoons, music, games, puns, and guides may seemmore appropriate for a small child, we have to respect any attempt at making astandardized test something less than dull as dirt. Any student can appreciateit, and you can turn the sound off if you want. --Kendra Hayden ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, goofy, but great way to study
Hesitant about taking another standardized test. Only used the GRE portion and it had enough drills, section and full tests to get me ready for the exam - to comfort level of knowing the range of my final score. Worth the money! A weird and goofy interface, but keeps it entertaining. They even applause for you! (we all need a little encouragement sometimes!)

5-0 out of 5 stars good for returning students
Coming back to Masters studies is hard after starting a career. The Kaplan software helped get back in the "study mode" and was a great aid in preparation for the GRE's. A top notch product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Increase your score
This includes your typical dorky narrators, however, it is well worth your time. This may be the only thing you will need to study for the GRE's with. My score on the analytical section went up hundreds of points after the work I did with Kaplan. I found the practice tests to be harder than that actual GRE. There was only one quirk with the software that I emailed Encore about with no response.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Review, but lacking in math and analytical
This is a good way to review, but it is much more focused on the verbal than I would like. Face it, the verbal is going to be the easiest to program. I also had an older Kaplan GRE book (1998) and the problems were the same. In fact, the book came with this software, or at least a standard version. Kaplan has pretty good reviews of the GRE, but makes a lot of assumptions about your math ability. The GRE states this is high school math, I checked and for me it was 5th grade through 9th grade. No wonder I was so rusty. One can only hope that GRE will come to their collective senses and take fractions off the test, so make sure you have up to date info on the math sections before you walk in. I really liked the simulation of the CAT GRE.

4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful study aid
This product was good for me because it set goals for me according to my time constraints. The diagnostic test showed my strengths and weaknesses, and selected the items that were most appropriate for me to study. It contains flash cards, games, and a vocabulary builder on top of the lessons. The program was easy to use. I don't like that you have to buy the complete set of LSAT, GMAT, and GRE, when most likely you will only be taking one of these tests. Overall it was a good product! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Are you looking for a way to supplement your child's algebra skills without boring him or her to tears? The text-prep experts at Princeton Review have devised Algebra Edge, an easily loaded two-disc package that teaches and tests all the topics covered in first-year algebra.

The two-disc format neatly divides Algebra Edge into two distinct parts: Algebra Smart (Disc No. 1), and Grade Builder (Disc No. 2). Algebra Smart, the more substantial of the two, consists of lessons, rapid-fire quizzes, and a record-keeping function. The cartoon graphics and wacky voices are designed for kids, and an Olympic theme runs throughout--the quizzes are called the Algebra Games, and the lessons are taught at the Algebra Training Building. The quizzes are very fast-paced, and thus are not recommended until a student has achieved mastery of a topic. One especially helpful feature is the Info Center, the record-keeping function, which allows you to look up any current algebra textbook and review the material that was taught at school the same day.

The Grade Builder CD-ROM consists of review lessons and two games: Death By Algebra and Soak Your Sibling. The graphics for the lessons are set against a very dark background, which some users may find disconcerting. The lessons themselves have more talking and less chalkboard work than those in Algebra Smart. Death By Algebra has an ironic tone that is suitable for most postmodern kids, but it may bother religious conservatives or others who object to jokes such as "Welcome to the game show where, just like in life, you earn points and collect prizes until you die." Soak Your Sibling was nearly incomprehensible on the first try, and kids will find the characters either hilarious or annoying.

Algebra Edge comes with a guarantee that is characteristic of the Princeton Review: if a student finishes the program and doesn't raise his or her grade, Princeton Review will refund the price of the software. To get a refund, the student must return the CD-ROMs (which have an automatic record-keeping function showing which lessons and tests have been taken) along with copies of report cards. A student must use the program within two grading periods to qualify for a refund. --Matt Kohut ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I have learned something...
I have learned to check the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS very carefully when purchasing any software at all!! This software is for Windows 95/98 and evidently is so old that The Princeton Review website no longer exists. Broderbund Co. (The Learning Company) provides very limited support for this product. The phone numbers for both technical and customer support were no good. I was finally able to get the one CD - Grade Builder - to load and run (Windows XP) and my daughter did stay on and play the games. Yes, her text book is listed - just not the same year publication! It is incomplete. Since that is how I sold her on the CD's (it matches up with your textbook) I was foiled from the start!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great supplement for "home schooling"/tutoring in Algebra
My 8th grader is learning Algebra at home rather than in the traditional class. She had been resisting doing the book lessons, but this software makes more sense to her and is much more interesting. The games are fun and challenging. The fact that it follows the textbook exactly really helps too. We've used it to learn new material and as a fast & fun review of earlier material.

1-0 out of 5 stars Sorry Folks but this didn't work for me!
This program was not all it was hyped up to be. The lessons were too complicated. If I knew what they expected me to know I would not have purchased the software. The animated characters were very racial. In the classroom setting the "dumb" kid was always black. Thats pretty bad. The white kids were always portrayed as smarter and wealthier. Black kids were portrayed as dumb and poor. Dont buy this software if you don't condone racism!

5-0 out of 5 stars Algebra + Fun
This is the only Algebra I program my kids loved! They BEGGED to let them play. Any other program will just explain you something and then give you a quiz, but this one lets you spend some time playing. The games are fun, and "Soak Your Sibling" is the best way to get inside the coordinate plane. If your kid has a little bit of patience, he will understand everything about this linear functions very soon. I wish they would invent similar games for every topic.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best Algebra I program I have seen!
This program is the best it shows you how to effectivly master any type of algebra I. Algebra I is the bases of all other math so if you use this program you have a chance to learn and master the skill, quick and easy. It can go along with almost any algebra I book out! This one's the best. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Need to bone up for your college entrance exams? Look to Kaplan, one ofthe nation's test-prep leaders; its two-CD-ROM package is chock-full ofdiagnostic tests and lessons to help you ace all the necessary exams, plus moregeneral advice on planning for college admission.

Choose from various types of helpful information to begin your preparation:assessment tests, lessons on each type of test question, flash cards and quizgames, and an admissions calendar that helps you plan your entire applicationprocess. It's the tests and lessons, though, that are the heart of the program. The lessons are broken into bitesized topics and include a lot of spokennarration that can't be interrupted midstream by a click; this can be somewhattime-consuming if you want to preview or browse lessons before deciding whetheryou need them. Each lesson offers one or two sample questions to illustrate itspoint.

Though easily installed, the instruction book doesn't tell you much about how tomaneuver through the program, so you must wade through the introductory tour andsome cheesy graphics to figure out the application's functions. A quick warning:set the volume on your control panel before running the program, because itisn't adjustable from the menu bar.

These CD-ROMs offer a thorough review of all the different types of questionsthat are asked on the ACT, SAT, and PSAT. Whether you simply want to familiarizeyourself with the format of the test you'll be taking, or wish to brush up onmath skills or vocabulary, Kaplan's college test-prep programs offer plenty ofinformed practice. --Matt Kohut ... Amazon.com Review

This software decodes the mysteries of the SAT and ACT exams, offering insider tips and a range of learning strategies that will ensure student success. With customized study planning, diagnostic tools, and sample exams for students' use, Inside the SAT & ACT 2003 Deluxe from the Princeton Review guarantees higher scores on either test.

The package serves both as an exam-taking coach and a tutor--two separate but equally necessary tasks. A general strategies section outlines the principles behind the construction of the exam, aspects of the SAT that have nothing to do with core learning. The strategies show students how to eliminate obviously wrong answers on the multiple choice test, explaining the exam designers' philosophy so that those facing the SAT know how best to allocate their time and intellectual resources.

Once the tricks of the trade are well understood, though, the program guides a user through all of the material one might expect to see on the exam, reviewing the math and verbal skills needed to bring home a winning grade. The tutorials are detailed and well organized, offering an excellent supplement to high school instruction.

Inside the SAT & ACT also offers a section on college admissions, allowing users to search over 1,600 colleges based on criteria including the price of tuition, the gender or ethic make-up of an institution's student body, or basic admission requirements. This allows students to target preferred schools and determine what kind of SAT scores will be needed to ensure their admission.

Not surprisingly, Inside the SAT & ACT leans heavily toward delivering content, placing little emphasis on extras like a sleek interface or stylish graphics. This no-nonsense format gets the job done, even if some users may find themselves hating the sounds that accompany the educational drills--a harsh clang denotes a right answer for many exercises--by the end of their 12-week program of study. The occasionally irritating aspects of the package, though, are a small price to pay for the additional exam preparation this software provides. Parents and college-bound students alike are sure to be pleased with the results that this package can deliver. --Alyx Dellamonica ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great software
I think that this is a great software. I found the information very useful for both the SAT and ACT. The SAT tips are very useful. However, I didn't agreed with several tips on the ACT prep software.

I was not comfortable taking the practice tests on the computer. On reading passages, it is timed but you need to scroll down. This takes some times. Also, the practice tests are somewhat too easy.

I would recommend you use the book "Getting into the ACT" and/or "Ten real SATs" in addition to this. In these two books, retired tests are used.

The software itself is great for learning the content and strategies for the tests, but the practice tests are not as good as the books I mentioned.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good information...lousy delivery!
The information in this product could really help a bunch of kids...unfortunately my 14 year old tuned out as soon as the presenters started talking like a motivational speaker. You know the type...always smiling, really upbeat, almost mesmerized, "Mary Kay salesperson" form of speaking?

Additionally, the typical, lazy, loser guy who always takes the easy route is a scathing stereotype and in my opinion leaves everything to be desired.

If you want the kids to listen, find the happy medium between the plastic smile and the monotone drone. Run your program on some real kids and see which styles they respond to best. Also take a look at your target audience and what their habits and likes are. You may find stereotyping the loser "skater dude", as your sample idiot may not hold your viewers attention very well. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Buy the actual tests
I don't see why people buy anything from
Kaplan, Princeton Review, and Barron's etc.
when they can purchase the actual tests.
Each one of these "prep" tests are different

Usually the questions are as not well thought

are more complicated or less complicated than required.
I can't think of one reason to buy their products.

I also own the 2002 version. I planned on taking the GMAT several months ago but, due to recent world events, I had to deploy overseas just before my test date. Now that I've been out of "study-mode" for 8 months, I thought Kaplan's latest version would be a good way to build upon the 2002 version.

WRONG!

At least for the GMAT portion of this package, the introductory test and lessons are no different than the ones on the 2002 version. I don't know if the GRE or LSAT tests are different, but the GMAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME!

Save yourself ... and buy the 2002 version- it's worth 5-stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars Its not very useful if the software doesn't work
I have only used the GMAT portion of this product, so that is all I can speak about. The software has so many problems that it is difficult to get anything meaningful out of it. I'm not a genius, but I am an electrical engineer and usually do pretty good with computers. During tests, the window will sometimes move partially off the screen so that you can't see the whole question, and will not move back. The reading comprehension sections omit words and sentances. In the math section, pictures and symbols will be distorted so that you cannot read them. Worst off, I spent 3 1/2 hours taking a full length practice GMAT, but when I went to review the answers, due to some glitch the program would only let me look at the first question. Its hard to learn when you can't see what you've done right and wrong. I did, by the way, load this program on two different computers, so I don't think my system is causing the problems. Oh, and if the companion palm software is a big point for you (as it was for me), don't be fooled. It consists of one hundered math problems, many of which give the wrong answer (yes - I checked my math with others to make sure I wasn't wrong - in fact, the frequency of wrong answers became a bit of a joke among my coworkers who were all trying to study on work time). All in all, it is difficult to learn anything when the software doesn't work half the time, and when it does you can't be sure about the correctness of the answers. I've had better luck with the Princton Review book and software, though they tend to dumb down the material a bit, and their online services aren't nearly as useful as they claim when you buy the book.

4-0 out of 5 stars It helped me get in to college.
I took the test and had no problem because I knew what to expect. I was confident because I knew the time it took me to finish. In general its a MUST if you are taking your GRE test! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A Window XP User's Worst Nightmare!
I bought this program two months before my scheduled SAT test date in May. At first, it worked pretty good. The intros were a little annoying, and the jokes were hardly funny, but I think it helped me learn more about the SAT and the program was customized to focus on my difficulties. So I give Kaplan 2 points for helping me with that.

HOWEVER, there is a big catch to this program, and I suggest all of you potential buyers take a close look at the fine print. THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION... I even checked the Kaplan website to see if it was XP compatible, and it said "Windows 95 or higher," so I figured it was okay. Well, after I was finished with the program and I already took my SAT, I uninstalled the program. BIG MISTAKE! Since then, I have not been able to run the program successfully. I even used the Program Compatibility Wizard to try to run the program in Windows 95, Windows Me/98, and Windows 2000, but it STILL did not work... Especially a reference tool. I am sure Kaplan had very good intentions, but they obviously haven't considered us new XP users. There is no patch to fix this problem. Please reconsider, and search for a reference program that is certified to work with Windows XP.

P.S... Problem: Will Not Run On Win XP. Thank you for contacting Encore. We're sorry but this software is not 100% compatible with XP. The program was developed prior to XPs release to the market. XP has a different file structure and program requirements. Currently there are no patches or upgrades to accommodate these differences. However, XP has the Program Compatibility Wizard, which can help XP run programs developed under previous versions of Windows. To activate this: Click on Start, Go to: All Programs, Go to: Accessories, Select the Program Compatibility Wizard, Select for it to look into the CD drive, Choose for it to run in Windows 98/ME mode. Please Note: If the software has installed successfully you can right click on the icon and left click on properties. At the top right you will see a Compatibility tab. This will give you the option to run in 95, 98&NT mode, 256 colors, ME, etc. Another alternative would be to make a dual boot partition. This option allows you to have two operating systems on one hard drive... Sincerely, Encore Software Customer/Technical Support Team"

However, I followed the directions step by step and I did not receive any different results. So although the technical support was very curteous and friendly, it still didn't replace the... worth of software that won't work on any of my computers. Please future buyers who are running an XP operating system - don't waste your money!

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome! if you don't use Win XP
This is a very good SAT/PSAT/ACT prep product. I bought it for my son, who is not fond of studying at all. Now my biggest problem is to try to get him to stop using this program. The great thing is that this program establishes a personalized study plan which lets you review and practice just your weak spots. It also includes tips, strategies, and do's and dont's on any of tests, as well as special games to help you study vocabulary words. Everything is presented in a fun and cartoonish way. There are some funny things such a pop quizzes in between lessons that ask you the most irrelevent questions possible. (How do you read the directions on the SAT?) Some added bonuses are a college admissions planner, as well as a basic college guide on the prep CDs. Unfortunately, the bad news is that if you have Windows XP, you cannot use the additional 3 cds which cover how to succeed in high school, how to pay for college, and Newsweek's guide to colleges. So Windows XP users will find the extra cds worthless. Overall, a good product which will certainly motivate your students and definitely keep them on for hours. I would say that if you don't have Windows XP, then it is a great buy! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

If you or your offspring is planning to take the SAT, PSAT, or ACT,you're most likely going to need some sort of test prep program. There are manychoices on the market and many different mediums in which to study: books, classroom sessions, Web-based programs, software, and more. It seems naturalthat your choice will depend on how you or your son or daughter prefers tolearn, but if you are looking at software programs, Kaplan SAT, ACT & PSATDeluxe 2002 is a solid choice.

Kaplan has been in the test prep business for years and is one of the leaders inthe field. Kaplan's software has expanded over the years from being simply atest prep and learning program and has evolved into a comprehensive collegepreparation kit. Kaplan SAT, ACT & PSAT Deluxe 2002 is a five-CD set thatincludes: complete SAT, PSAT, and ACT personalized preparation (programs thatguarantee a higher score on the SAT, PSAT, or ACT); the Newsweek guide tomore than 1,600 colleges (information on schools and their specialties regardingacademics, athletics, admissions criteria, and more); the Succeed in Schoolstudy skills program (help with general learning and studying skills such asnote taking, communication skills, attitude, reading comprehension, and more);and a comprehensive financial aid and scholarship finder (help withunderstanding financial aid and scholarship opportunities and distinctions). Thus, not only can this program assist you in improving your score on the test, but it guides you through the entire process of studying for the test, choosinga school, paying for it, and succeeding when you get there.

It's clear that Kaplan has attempted to add some fun to the test preparationprocess. After all, how much fun is it for anyone to review algebra, geometry, vocabulary, and reading comprehension? However, the one drawback to thisapproach is that it's difficult to discern where the line between fun andchildish lies. The animation and music do lighten up an otherwise dull topic, but there are quite a few introductions and sequences from which you cannot optout. For the student who just wants to get on with the lessons, this can befrustrating.

Overall, Kaplan SAT, ACT & PSAT Deluxe 2002 is a top choice in the market oftest prep software. It covers all the bases and more. Furthermore, Kaplanguarantees that by using this program you will improve your score. If it doesn'twork for you, the company offers a complete refund. --Kendra Hayden ... Read more

HOWEVER, there is a big catch to this program, and I suggest all of you potential buyers take a close look at the fine print. THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION. I am not quite sure about the professional edition, but it certainly does not work for my home edition of XP. I even used the Program Compatibility Wizard to try to run the program in Windows 95, Windows Me/98, and Windows 2000, but it STILL did not work. I further called Kaplan support and they suggested the same thing and basically told me that it was too bad. BUYERS BEWARE! Support is terrible, and I believe this is one of the most important things in buying a software program. Especially a reference tool. I am sure Kaplan had very good intentions, but they obviously haven't considered us new XP users. There is no patch to fix this problem. Please reconsider, and search for a reference program that is certified to work with Windows XP.

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughter likes it, so do I
My daughter took the SATs about a month ago, and she was panicked, so I bought this software for her. It seemed like a bargain at the time, given the cost of private tutoring and classes. I had read the information here and other places (like c|net, etc.) and liked what I saw. The reviews here were not very good, but I trusted some of the others more.

The results began almost immediately. My daughter would use this about 3 times a week, and you could see that she was becoming less and less stressed about the test. The proof will of course be when she gets her scores back, but she felt confident, and that was the biggest hurdle to help her over.

As for why I liked it, the paying for school and newsweek guide to colleges helped me sort through my responsibilities as a parent, what the financial aid picture will look like for us, and what the campuses she is considering are like - without having to drive to each one.

If your youngster is struggling with standardized tests, and you're not sure what to do, buy this software. You'll be glad you did, and the panic attacks are fewer.

5-0 out of 5 stars This program has me TOTALLY prepared for Saturday!
wow. I can't believe the other reviews of this piece of software. I bought it in September, when I got back to school. My teacher had recommended this one. I found it was really good at helping me calm down, learn to take my time, understand the question behind the questions. The methods for working the math programs, the ways to read those long, dense passages -have all helped me feel totally confident that I'll do well on the SAT. I've been looking at the ACT disk, too. I'm actually thinking that after seeing it, I may take that test too.

My parents loved the Paying for school calculator, it helped them understand how much it's going to cost, and how the heck to pay for it all. And I know better now why so many people have implored me to save money from summer jobs! :)

Some of the jokes were definitely corny, but overall, outstanding practice, great material, and I feel totally prepared for the big day. Thank you Kaplan!

1-0 out of 5 stars A terrible program
Words can't express my hate for this program. Intros that you can't escape (especially when you don't have the time to listen to those dumb people) games that have no relevance with SAT matching and such, rather it is a test of your hand-eye coordination and clicking skills. It really is designed for little children. Slow menus, goofy games, makes this product a 1 star. Just because you get 5 in 1 doesn't mean that quantity overtakes quality.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Child like
When I bought this program I wanted software that would allow me to comfortabley study for the SAT. When I installed it onto my computer I found a program that seems to target the elementry school age child. I started resenting opening the program to study because of the childlike program. I was hopeing for something more "adult". Something meant for me. Someone who wants to go to college. ... Read more
