Outstanding Overview of Classical Music
This fascinating title explores nearly every facet of classical music, featuring over 11,000 entries, 200 photographs, 500 music clips, and information on 3,000 operas and 4,000 personalities. The titles include "Live With Chopin", "The Hutchinson Encyclopedia of Music", "Vivaldi, The Four Seasons", "Classical Orchestra Notes", and "Mozart, Prince of Harmony". Multimedia presentation includes performances as well as analysis and background material.

Well, it was cheap
The CD set has a wealth of information- but the media itself (how it loads, how the program plays, how you access info) is dated and VERY basic. It was also a bit surprizing that it takes a bit of doing to ever hear the music. Very "reference text" feeling.

If you are looking for a way to READ more about music, this is a fine set. If you are looking for an interactive experience, keep looking.

You Get What You Pay For
You will get about $20 worth of use from this product. What you can bring up from the software is entertaining and interesting. However you will not get 1/100th of what you think is promised by the packaging and titles. The software is often difficult and unattractive. The musical examples are limited and not well recorded. The Musical Dictonary gives you precise definitions but not any great commentary. If you expect a great bargain, you will be unhappy. CounterTop is the software equivalent of the Dollar Store. You get what you pay for.

A Very Bad Trend
If you look at the reviews for the bundled art history software by CounterTop, you will see multiple mentions of software problems. One can only use 2 of the 5 bundled CDs. It's a shame because you can see where the software creators were headed but one cannot get the programs to run correctly. It's almost as if CounterTop doesn't care; they just bundle old software together and provide no support for known problems at their website. ... Read more

Don't know anything about it...
When I try to run the program it tells me to insert a disc and the disc is in the cr-rom drive. I tried everything to get it to work, I even got a hold of Voyetra. They sent me an email asking about information that doesn't even have to deal with the problem. They finnally come up with an answer on why it doesn't work but it didn't fix the problem. I am going to put it up on eBay now....So if you bid on it hopefully it works for you. I would recommend this to anyone who gets it to work. And if anyone had a problem like mine please email me letting me know what it was please. ... Read more

Excellent CD ROM. Hightly recommened for those who want to know EVERYTHING about the tabla....including history, tabla styles,and tabla accompaniment (with various types of instruments and vocalists)

Interesting Cdrom
I have been a fan of the tabla for quite a while now, ever since I caught the illustrious father - son duo Allah Rakha & Zakir Hussain over 10 years ago. The instrument is amazing and the sounds it can produce are astonishing. So, when I saw this product at amazon, I decided to have a look. Installation is straight forward, allthough be aware you have to have Quicktime installed in order to see the videos. If you do not have Quicktime, it is provided on the disc itself. There is a lot of material here and is a rather exhaustive work. Its really meant as an introduction. You can learn the syllables and some popular rhythmic cycles and a detailed history, learning traditions and theoretical knowledge. The musicians are all great and it comes with an additional Audio CD with the package which very good. The most entertaining part of the cdrom is that it showcases hours of audio and video highlighting tabla in various capqacities.Those of you interested in Tabla, should definately buy this product and dont worry if you have no knowledge of the instrument, its meant for all levels. ...
