Boring!
I have not played this game, but from seeing my sister play it, it seems boring! All it is is that you have pets that just make noise.

Worth The Money
I just got this game a few weeks ago and I love it! Me, persanoly am 7 (if you have a 7 year old daughter read this!). I have a dashhund, Queen and a pug, King. Read these do's and dont's.

DO: feed your pet daily
DON'T: feed too much
DO: play with your pets
DON'T: hit your pet with the frisbee
DO: take your pet to the backyard often
DON'T: stay temporarely in one playscene long

It's perfect!
This game is a perfect game for anyone who loves pets (aka petz) When me and my sister got it for x-mas we installed it quick and easy. It was so fun making our own breeds. We made some really cute catz and some really cute dogz! You should buy this game if you don't have any pets or if you would just like to have lots of fun! Here's what I'll have to say to you, if you don't buy this game, you're missin' out on LOADS of fun!

Great Game But There is a Catch
I love this games. I remember a long time ago when they came out with the first one. This of course is way more fun. I agree with all the other reviews but I need to tell you something that nobody mentioned if you are thinking about getting this game. (by the way I am playing this game while I am typing right now)

Definately worth your $$
yes, this is a great game. i was very dissapointed when i got my new computer and found that my Dogz 4 game would not work on it because i had Windows XP. But Dogz 5 is the perfect alternative. Now, although there are a lot of wonderful new things about Dogz 5, there are some drawbacks. i have listed the pros and cons:

Pros:

* 5 new breedz!!!! - golden retrievers, German shepherds, jack russel terriers, papillons, and pugs
* Dogz can have up to 4 puppiez at a time!!!
* New playscenes - haunted house, fantasy castle, Asian temple, and Salon, which includes the bathtub and clothes closet
* Nursery - a room only availiable to momz with babiez
* all new toyz for your petz to play with!!!
* you get to take all the toys you own to any scene and play with as many you want!!!
* 5 mini games!!!
* Weather and day/night cycles!!! the weather changes, so it could be sunny one minute, or raining or snowing the next!!! and you can adjust how fast you want it to go from day to night!!!
* new and improved graphics!!!!
* you have a second chance to take care of one of your neglected petz that has run away
* many new clothes items!!!

Cons:

* no toy closet :-( , you have to find the toyz or earn them by winning mini games
* some of the mini games are hard, and you sometimes get a toy you already have
* no more adopting pigz, but there is a host character pig in the back yard
* no backrounds already made to choose from when creating a custom playscene

as you can see, there are waaaaaaaaaaay more pros than cons, so this game is definatley worth it.

A Dogz 5 Review ^-^

Hey! This is Qweenie @ QP4. I just got Dogz 5 the other day and I have to say it is pretty good... Well, here are the pros and cons of it:

Pro: 5 new breeds.
Con: No more adopting pigz.
Pro: Some new toys.
Con: No more toy closet, you must find all the toys yourself and/or win them from the mini games.
Pro: New playscenes.
Con: It takes a bazillion years to get from one playscene to the next and sometimes locks up.
Pro: Improved graphics.
Con: All the old bugs from Petz 4 are still there. (Although I haven't seen that darn Debug and Abort sign yet.^-^)
Pro: You can make litters!
Con: The maximum petz in a litter is only four and some people such as myself like to do at least five. =(
Pro: There are some neat weather effects and day and night cycles!
Con: They are just graphic effects and the petz don't even notice.

Okay, there are a lot more pros and cons of the game but I'm getting tired of writing this review so you'll just have to find them yourself. ;-)

Doggone Good!
When I read some peoples reviews about this game,I was stunnded how many people liked this game.So I decided to get this game.
This Dogz are sooooo adorable,you take care of them,play,and you can breed them too.I have many dogs now.I started out with the Dachshund but then I saw all of them and well I almost got all of them!Well most of them,and alot of my Dogz had puppies!This is such a great game and it will make your heart warm when you play it.Even though I have 2 dogs and 1 cat,there still alot more adorable then the Dogz on the computer game!Not to brag)But there so cute!I've noticed that some people sayed it had different minigames on there so there,and alot alot ALOT more.Now maybe some day I'll get Catz 5.

VERY VERY FUN
I really enjoy playing this game! The animation is great, except for some of my purebreds cannot eat... strange. But the little puppies are very sweet and develop personallities of their own!! The games are fun, and the new breeds are awsome!! My favorite is Papillon, they are so sweet and I have one in real life. I love all of the playscenes, and love making my own playscenes with the editor. I love the game!!!

Grrrrrrreat Game!
This is the best game yet!!! I love how you can feed them, pet them, dress them. It's like owning a real dog! My brother makes fun of me cuz i get so into it, he always says "its not like there real" but they are!! They have feelings ya know!

I think this game is really great, the graphics are good, but the grooming! every time you go to a show, you get a new horse to look after them on top of your other horses. Also some horses are better than others, for example, the best ones are the palimino, the dark grey (these are the last two horses you get ) and Eclair. The challenges are really tricky and I still havent worked out the wheel one and ive had it for a year!

Fun Fun Fun
This is a really cool game even for me and I'm 16! Yea Its sad I know but I wanted a good horse game, I beat the Barbie Riding Game in less than an hour. So I was happy when I still haven't been Saddle Up and ive had it for almost a month!

The grooming can be really annoying after a while but its alot like real life. Picking there feet takes like 15 mintues the first time. The challanges are HARD! I still haven't figured out the wheel challange and its making me very mad!! But I still love it!

Great Game for Horse Fans Like Me!!!
I love this game. It is fun as well as challenging. The part I don't like about it ,though is the grooming.

It takes like an hour just to pick a hoof, and you keep getting more horses to groom throughout the game! You have to ride and care for each and every horse, even if they don't belong to you! In some competitions, you have to ride you're "friends'" horses instead of your own. (Your horses are a lot better at pacing themselves in the challenges.) I also don't like how you can only save the game in your room. But worst of all, is how much grooming is involved EVERY DAY!!! Hose down the horse, brush him, pick his HOOF (not hooves, thank goodness), shoe him, AND clean his stall and take him to the pasture! All of that is involved before you can go riding!

BUT, I loved the graphics. The only problem is if you wander off course, your horse falls into a white area. It is a great game, though. And the courses and competitions are a ton of fun! The challenges are REALLY CHALLENGING. It takes a while to figure them out, but its fun while doing it. This is an awesome game for horse fans like me. This game shows what its like to own a horse. I think it should be ages 11 and up!

This game is a really great game, and I play it as often as I can. It can be a bit confusing when first starting out, but I soon got the hang of it. It's really fun, and there are lots of things to do in this game. It's a great game if you don't want to be riding all the time. I'm horse-crazy and I'm very focused on the quality of the graphics, and although they aren't the greatest, they're definitley better than alot of horse games. And the best part is, there's no dressage!

i am 15 years old and i am crazy for horses! I love these virtual petz!
Catz 5 was what I wanted most for Christmas this year. I got what I wanted--this game is pure FUN. I've been playing it nonstop ever since. Very much like Catz 4--except new mini-games, new breedz, are the big changes.

If you've never heard of catz or dogz (or any of the series), then you must know now! These games are about taking care of cats or dogs, raising them, feeding them, training them, and breeding them--basically it's like taking care of an animal around the house (except you don't have to scoop any litter or take any walks). =P It's the perfect gift for girls aged 8-13, or people who are cat/dog fanatics.

The scenes (places for catz to play in) in this game are pretty much similar to the ones in Catz 4, except now they have a Salon (umm...I think it wasn't in Catz 4 but I haven't played on Catz 4 for years), fantasy castle, AsianTemple, and a Haunted mansion. Yes, you can still design your own scenes for your catz to play in, and you now get to design your carrying case (w/ a paint program) for your catz! The scenes in this game are:

To get items in this game for your Catz to play with, you must defeat little miniature games that are in scenes, such as tic-tac-toe (as silver-girl said, it takes about 3-10 times to mark an X in your area), rock paper scissors, Simon says, obstacle coarse, and scarab crunch. Almost all the items in this game are old ones from Catz 4. Thank goodness in this game you can hold unlimited items in your carrying case, unlike in older versions of games where you have to hold a maximum of 9. That's one of the reasons we're all glad for this game.

A female cat in this game can have a litter of 1-4 kittenz. They are almost always mixed breeds, really if you have to different types of catz. There are 15 different breedz of catz in this game -- Alley Cat, B+W Shorthair, Calico, Chinchilla Persian, Desert Lynx, Egyptian Mau, Honey Bear, Japanese Bobtail, Maine Coon, Orange Shorthair, Persian, Russian Blue, Scottish Fold, Siamese, and Tabby. You can't cheat anymore with your computer calendar to speed up the birth of your cats' kittens. Usually it takes babies to be infants 2-3 days, and kittens in 7 days. Then it takes 3-4 days to become adults. They grow up so fast...*sniff*

You still have the screensaver, in this game also. But what I HATE is that you need the CD in order to launch it (like the review that person wrote who only bought this for the screensaver). Don't bother buying this for the screensaver either; it's nothing really. It's just your catz playing with random items.

Please do not buy this if you already have Catz 4 and you expect a lot out of this game. If you want the extra stuff, I say go for it. It's not much different than Catz 4--just more breedz, 4 more scenes, and mini-games which you play to earn new items.

Well, that's my review.

Catz 5
Although I have never played any of the Catz games I decided to get Catz 5 and it is brilliant! Heres why: (1) Litterz. You can breed your catz and dogz to get litterz of 1-4. You can make all sorts of different colour combinations and they can look really cool. (2) Playscenes. There are lots of Playscnes to look round and you can find secret items in them and play games. You can also find host character there which your petz will interact with. (3) Breedz. There are plenty of breedz to choose from each with their own distinct look and personality. Some of the breeds are fussy, some are smart some are bullies - it's cool to see how they interact with each other. I think the bad things about catz 5 are that you have to play games to get toyz and they repeat themselves so you keep getting the same ones :( The other thing is the weather. I saw it snowing out the kitchen window and went out into the garden - and it was sunny. =( Overall though this is a really fun game with plenty to do - if you like virtual pets you'll loooove Catz 5 :]

Catz 5 Not What We Expected
I recently purchased Catz 5 for my son who is ll. He is a real animal lover and thought it would be right up his alley since he loves Zoo Tycoon. However, we found Catz to be very juvenile for children in this age range. There is not much to do but dress your animals, bathe them, and plant flowers. True you can pet them, play with them, etc., but this is not entertaining for an ll year old. Most of the games, like tic- tac-toe don't work, and the game ends up picking where your X will go. If you want an educational, stimulating game for your child, don't buy Catz, unless your child is under the age of 8. Any child above that age range will be bored within the first half hour.

Puh leeze get something with more fun
Catz 5 is kinda doppy. You choose catz from like 15 breedz and love em and feed em and care for em. When they are adults, they can breed and care less about you. You get a certificate of happiness. You play with them for two hours and then they get boring. My catz are terrible. They ran away from. I would rather just return this game.

WARNING to all CDRW drive owners
Just a friendly warning to all CDR/CDRW/DVDR/DVDRW drive owners. UBI Soft as a "feature" on their PC software that prevents installation from any drive with write capacity. Why they feel that's a valid anti-piracy measure, and why they don't mind blowing off an entire segment of the market, is entirely beyond me, but that's not the point here. Call UBI Soft tech support BEFORE buying this or any other PC game from them, and check to make sure whether or not you will be able to install. Software (such as Chessmaster 9000) doesn't come with a warning on the box (in "some" cases, they claim -- I haven't found a single box that does), nor is there a warning on the Amazon product pages (short of reviews like this). One could speculate that they're perfectly happy to let people buy their software knowing some won't be able to install it, but I'll leave their motivation to give no warning to consumers to your imagination.

UBI Soft's tech support has said that this "feature" extends to *all* of their PC titles. So fair warning, particularly to folks with laptops where DVD/CDRW drives came standard, ask before you buy. Perhaps if enough people have a problem with this flawed policy, UBI will smarten up. "Flawed" because limiting installs to drives without write capacity isn't going to slow a determined game cracker/pirate down, it's only going to prevent normal consumers from being able to install the game. Worse, they don't find out until they've opened the package and tried to install, which in some cases is enough to prevent a return and refund from the seller.

I'm certain this game deserves more than 1 star, and suspect it will see some good reviews from people who are able to install, but I can't give it more than a single. That's a commentary on UBI Soft and their "feature", not about the game itself. ... Read more

Creatures 3...great!
I got this game a year ago, and it was the first Creatures game I had ever bought. I had been reading reviews for it for a month, and bought it. When I installed the game and started playing it, it was great!! The Norns were very cute (even if the only facial expression they showed was happyness), the Ettins stole almost every object on the ship and brought it back to it's home area (the ettins are my favorite creatures to watch, I caught it stealing some machinary and told it to drop it, and it just looked at the screen and made a big, cheezy grin at me), and the grendles are horrifying! The only bad things about this game are the creator, it lets you put new objects you download on the internet in the game, but you need something called bioenergy...and...um...the power ups. (note: many creatures users at the creatures newsgroup disliked the power ups in Creatures 2. Creatures Labs didn't know when to stop :-D) I am looking foward to the Docking Station add-on Creatures Labs will be releasing for free! (You don't need Creatures 3 to run it, but it docks with it if you have it.) If you want to buy this game, I recomend that you buy the Creatures Trilogy in the game. It includes C1, C2, and C3 all together! Get this game, or the other game, now!

Challenging, Fun, Frustrating, and Rewarding
This game can be fun and frustrating. In Creatures 3 you are trying to successfully breed and take care of a population of "Norns" which are friendly creatures who live in a land in a huge spaceship. This is no easy task. There are way too many things you have too watch out for including "Grendels" (which are bad monsters that go straight for the kill, disease, drowning, misuse of machines, and starvation. Your Norns can die easily and under 30 seconds. Now, if you had one Norn to watch out for, he or she would be a piece of cake to breed, but in Creatures 3 you have many Norns to breed at one time and when they're all scattered about doing their own things, you can turn you're back on them for 30 seconds to go take care of another Norn and when you can come back, they might have died. That is the only extremely bad part of the program. It is a real challenge to take care of them all and that's why it's really rewarding when a Norn doesn't die until they get real old. Overall I encourage you to try this game somewhere else and then decide if you like it before you waste money on a game you don't like.

THIS GAME IS THE BEST
I bought this game when I was 9 years old. It became my favorite game. In the game you have to take care of norns, ettins or grendels(you decide!)
You can breed norns and ettins in the same world together, of course you can also have grendels there, but the problem may be, that the grendels can sometimes kill norns and ettins, so I recommend to breed grendels in separate world. The fan-made addons all around the internet make the game much more interesting to play! Norns are cute, so are ettins(they've became my favorite breed, lately) and (suprise!)I also think that grendels are cute! I highly recommend this game to everyone above the age of 8.

Cretures 3 is great!Be careful about grendels. They can kill your Norns. Wow!!! Love this game!
This is the best game ever! By the way, norns are WAY hardier than belived and with a watchfull eye they can thrive easily.

Hint: If you're worried about grendels, just get 2 eggs before they hatch and put them in water! No more grendels!

I think the medical pod is really cool, you can see if your norn is sick, and then you can help it. The machines are really cool too, you can connect them to make super machines to help you or your norns.

Good, yet bad
This game is okay, I suppose. You basically adopt cute little babyz and take care of them. You change their diapers, feed them, put them to sleep, etc. You can dress up your babyz in all kinds of clothing too. As time passes the babies will grow older, and learn to walk and talk. You can talk to them using a microphone and the software included in the game. They will recognize your voice and will learn from you speaking. The babyz also have their own personalities... some like mushed peas for food, others like mushed carrots. The babyz will cry if you ignore them, and believe me, you don't want them crying!

It is fun... for a while. When I first played it took me a while to get the microphone software to actually work. The game will freeze too. My game used to work fine, but now it won't work if I try to go to the kitchen. It will then shut down. Since the kitchen is where all the food is, that's a problem. Finally, after a while, the games gets really dull.

Cute idea, fun for a while, but it eventually gets boring.

The best game!
This game is a lot of fun! You can take care of virtual babyz! You can feed them, bathe them, diaper them and rock them to sleep. You can also talk to them by using a microphone attached to the computer! I love this game! I play it all the time! It is very fun, especially for kids, like me, ages 6-12! You won't be bored with this game!

Wonderfull SoftWare Game I every played
Me and my sister have had this game for 2 years.Its very fun and you can go other websits to get more food,clothes,toys,ect.When I read some of the reviews about no being able to get back into the kitchen and your babyz get sick,I decdei that when i get the game I will use the toybox as a first aid kit.It work until my counis came over and starter to take everything out.then one day something happen and we could not get in the kitchen.It took six month's just for us to get back in to the kitchen.Our older couis show:This is what you do first if you want to keep the babyz that you have save them on a disk than exit babyz.Second go to my computer,programs files,mindscape.Three go to babyz and delete EVERYTHING ON BABYZ than go all the back until you reach babyz and delete than reinstalle it.Or u could unstalle than reinstalle.It work for us and our babyz are not sick again what a relife

I first started getting these virtual pet games when I played dogz 2 at my friend's house.I loved it!I love cats so I got catz 2 and dogz 2.Then I got catz 3,then catz 4.It is way better than the other ones.There is so many cool lands,for example,the South Seas Island and the Gypsy Circus.There's a whole selection of clothes,hats,and accessories to dress your cat in.The toys are awesome!It comes with 10 breeds,the alley cat,the Russian blue,the persian,the calico,the B&W shorthair,the orange shorthair,the maine coon,the tabby,the chinco persian,and the siamese.Also you can breed your pets!It comes with a microphone so you can talk to your petz and you can create your own playscenes.I really recommend this game!

Mindscape (they made this, Ubi Soft made Petz 5) made some real mistakes.

Bugs, bugs, bugs. This game is full of them. The food dish bounces around and your catz never get a chance to eat. Toys permanently disappear from the playscenes. For example, the cannon ball disappears from the Circus Playscene. The game may crash every so often and you lose everything you did.

Where did BUNNIES come from? Hello? This is Catz 4; bunnies aren't cats. It probably wouldn't be so bad if you could breed them, but you can't. Big bummer. As for talking to your catz, I couldn't get them to understand me properly, so I just forgot about it.

The game is almost like a bug-filled dull Catz 3. Why bother expanding, then? They are almost the same, except for new clothes that barely even have complete outfits, new scenes that lose their unique toys in a day, and bunnies that can't even breed. The only reason I gave it three stars and not one or two is because it does at least have new features.

This game is great it has so many things that you can do like playing with the catz,feeding traveling to places like the dessert or to the circus where you can meet other catz.You can also breed your catz and then in about 3 days you'll have a newborn. You also now own a house that you can decorate for your style with pictures of your catz,and so much more.Though there is a new catz5 game out which is even better, I also highly suggest getting this game too.If you buy both games they will come up as one and you can bring all of your catz from catz4 onto catz5.

I absolutely LOVE this game! I first played it last year and was immediately hooked! The petz in this game are wonderful, perfect for people who have allergies but just as great for people like me who have real cats or other pets. This game is also great for small children who parents feel aren't ready to have a pet yet, but your petz can run away if neglected or abused so I think this game is suitable for ages 7 and up (mature 7 year olds). I know adults who love this game, so it's great for all ages as an alternative or additional pet or pets. Another good quality to this game is that you can download breeds of petz, clothes, playscenes, toys, programs, and sounds from thousands of different sites (make sure any site you download anything from is a secure one) into the Catz 4 program.

MAIN GOOD POINTS:
*New Voice Acting Feature allows you to teach your petz voice commands with the right equipment.
*The Playscene Editor allows you to create your own playscenes that your petz can romp around in. You can also edit any playscenes you create or download from the internet at anytime.
*You can adopt as many petz as you like, but beware that your petz will run away if neglected or abused.
*You can breed your petz and create long lines of generations.
*If you buy Dogz 4 and already have Cats 4 your dogz and catz can play together.
*The game comes with 10 breeds to choose from, including bunnies,and lots of toys and clothes, as well as several travel scenes and home scenes which your petz can play in. But as I said before, to get more breeds, toys, clothes, playscenes and more you have to download them from sites on the internet.
*You can take pictures of your petz.
*Your petz make life-like sounds and can do lots of fun tricks. *The sound effects in playscenes are life-like as well (like the sounds of the ocean in the Beach scene).
*Your petz can operate things for themselves, like the music box or a roll-up rug from the Toys Closet.
*Petz are usually very good mothers to their young, and may improve in their maternal skills as they have more kittens.
*Petz grow in size as they get older. The life stages are Newborn, Infant, Kitten, and Adult. If a female cat has a kitten, the new kitten will start out very small as a newborn and will stay with it's mother until it is in the Kitten stage. If a pet is adopted, it comes from the adoption center in the Kitten stage.
*You can spay and neuter your petz if you wish to do so.
*Do you really need any more reasons to buy this game?

MAIN BAD POINTS:
*The bunnies that come with the Petz 4 program should be breedable (they're already neutered or spayed when you adopt them).
*The Dogz 4 program should come with the Catz 4 program so you don't have to buy them seperately.
*Petz should be able to have more than one kitten (or puppy, if you have Dogs 4) at a time (litters).
*Other than those, I can't really think of any other main (big) problems in Catz 4.

This game is pretty cool. I got it and the voice recognition didnt work. But it is still fun. When your cat is preagnet it takes about 3-4 days for it to have a kitten. I don't have catz 3 but my Friend has dogz 3 I asume that catz would be more fun bucause I'm more into catz than dogz.dogz #1 is fun but you can't do as much as you can in this one I would say that this game is the bomb you would defenetly want to get it unfortunetly there out of cds probobly cause it's so popular my brother who's 9 and my sister who's 5 even like it

The best version of one of the best programs ever!
Virtual petz-you may hear this and think of the annoying Giga Pets that were popular a few years ago. Not so. If you are on vacation or need a break, just don't open the game and nothing will happen to your Catz: they wil be in 'suspended animation'. Catz is a masterpiece of programming. When you open it up, you are greeted by the Adoption Center. You can choose from ten breeds, from a scruffy alley cat to the pampered Chinchilla Persian, which comes out complete with a pink bow in its long fur. Once you've found the perfect Catz, the fun begins. You can take your Catz to tons of places, from the Living Room to the Beach. If you want, you can dress them in outfits. There are tons of toys. If you get tired of dangling yarn around or tossing the jingle ball, you can release the Auto-Rolling ball and let your catz chase it. Even better is how Catz interact with each other. They will mew and yowl back and forth, play with each other, etc. It's almost as if they are real! The best feature, however, is that they can fall in love and have kittenz (all G rated, of course!). Catz genetics is realistic-there even are natural mutations-my catz Roofshadow was born with red eyes! Selective breeding is possible too. A huge online community provides a lot of fun-you can even enter your catz in virtual shows once you have taught them how to show pose (very easy with some breeds-Tabbies, Calicos, Maine Coons, and Russain Blues are the best at it). catz is the answer to any almost any problem!!
Ever since i had my first computer i had catz and dogz from pf magic. I started out with catz and dogz 1 at the time i have never seen anything like it , i fell in love. Then I found out they came out with catz 2, it had better graphics and was so much better then catz 1. Of course after that i got catz 3, I didnt get dogs on account that my computer (win 95) died. Catz3 was the best so far, more breeds, clothesl,more toys, and they could have kittens (G rated no inapropreit matieral). there was actually diffrent worlds you could go to, and you could download more!!

Catz 3 has new playscenes, the kitchen, the family room, backyard, a beach, toy closet ,clothes closet, playpen, and like always your desktop.There are ten breedz: Calico, Orange Shorthair, Black & White Shorthair, Persian, Chinchilla Persian, Tabby, Maine Coon, Siamese, Russian Blue, and Alley Cat. Catz 3 also has more advanced cats with there own personalitys. catz 3 is great for children almost any age my little cousin when she was about 2 laughed and squled every time the catz would do something cute. If you cant have a pet well now you can without the mess, you can even have more than 1. this is also great to keep you company if you live alone you can keep catz up and hear them meow and want to play to keep you happy. And if your alergic that might solve your problem. Or if your a parent and you want to make sure your kid is ready, or can take care of a real pet this is a great starter. If that isnt your reason its just becuase you love animals more then anything.

Now I have a windows xp , i miss catz but i found out about catz4 & 5. So if your looking for a new version of cats those are sure to be better. i hear there are new playscenes like a haunted mansion, or a circus.also new catz breeds. But what i hear and want it for is you have unlimited shelf space on your toolbar for taking toys to ather places, and your cat can have up to 4 kittenz. so if Windows 98 / Me / XP / 2000 i would highly suggest catz5. Without a doubt the best version!
There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best version ever.

I will start with the breedz. There are ten breedz: Calico, Orange Shorthair, Black & White Shorthair, Persian, Chinchilla Persian, Tabby, Maine Coon, Siamese, Russian Blue, and Alley Cat. Each breed has its own looks and personalities. The calico, for example, has patches and is very playful, but the Russian Blue is completely blue and very calm. Maine Coons are fluffy and love to run around, while Alley Cats look very raggedy and mean. Each breed is unique.

When you first open the program, you are sent to the Adoption Center. There, you pick out your catz. Once you adopt one or two, you go to the Family Room. From there, you can go to other Playscenes, the Kitchen, Family Room, Backyard, Beach, Desktop, Toys Closet, Clothes Closet, and Playpen. The Toys Closet and Clothes Closet are the rooms where you get your toys and clothes. Each Playscene is unique too! The Kitchen has annoying cockroaches, for example, and the Beach has waves. The Backyard has butterflies, and the Family Room has a fireplace. Each Playscene has something unique about it.

Some other nice features are your catz able to have kittenz and mutations showing up in the kittenz. Calicoes may be born with unique-colored patches, or your cat can be born with different-colored eyes. The possibilities seem endless.

All in all, I found this a very enjoyable game that animal lovers must try.

Pretty Kewl
I wasn't sure what to think after reading all of the reviews here on Amazon. Half are positive, half are negative. But when I finally received my game (ordered somewhere else) my experience was half-n-half also! The game was quite frustrating to install, as it kept asking me to install something that my dad and I couldn't figure out. But once it WAS installed correctly I had loads of fun. It's great to be able to have your own virtual pets to dress, feed, play with, and care for. A real puppy is probably even more enjoyable, but this game is wonderful if you can't have one. The new play scenes, like the Wild West and Gypsy Circus, are ok, but I personally like the regular kitchen, family room, and backyard better. You can also create your own playscenes using your own pictures. The Playscene Editor actually was very easy to use, telling you exactly what you needed to do to create the playscene. There is a wide variety of great toyz and accesories to use, and 10 breedz to choose from. (As well as a pig!) The voice rcognition works ok, but I haven't experimented too much with that. A big excitement that comes with this game is the ability to breed your dogz! It's usually pretty easy to make your petz fall in love (the Help section of the game gives you tips), and in a few days (not even a week) you have a beautiful new puppy that Mommy carries around with her! I love watching the pupz grow up. I would definitely recommend this game. Oh, but you won't want to buy it if you don't have much hard drive space because it requires a whopping 300 MB. :( As long as you've got the GIG, you should have the game!

Great American Game
This game is one of the best PC games I have ever had. You can adopt as many dogz as you want (but remeber you have to take care of your dogz everyday, or they will run away!)and there are 10 different breeds. Then when your petz grow to be Adultz they can have dogz of thier own, and the dogz apperance is a mix of both paren'ts triats. Then you can go to a Gypsy Cirucus and blow up balloons or Get a flea circus, or you can go to the beach for a fun-filled ay, or even the Wild Wild West where you can mmet the big Sherrif Dog. You can dress them in virtually anything, Helmets, Bows, Skirts, Mowhawks, you name it!! And there are all kinds of toys for your dogz too. You can go online with the dogz online gift package (comes with the game!!) and you can download different playscenes, or make yor own website of your pets. And with ViaVioce Recongition (not included) You can talk to your dogz and They will do tricks for you. If you have Cats 4 too, you can get the whole gang together and play. This game is great, and I dont think it could ever become Obsolite.

Dogz4
This is a great game. It is educational, beacause it teaches you responsibility, and its fun. I think people from about 7-12 would enjoy it. It doesn't crash your computer apart from the screen saver, but occasionally it does not run. I have Catz 5 too now, and I personally think it's better, but that may just be cos I don't have a real cat :-).

Better than Petz 5!
I don't have petz 4, but i want it! I do have dogz 5, but I think 4 is better even if there are only 10 breedz. I like how There is no Nursury in petz 4 when your petz have puppyz or kittenz when in petz 5 the babies have to stay in the nursury for a week. in this version, they can go places with their mom and dad (or another petz). And you don't have to win your toyz. You already have all your toyz in the toy closet when you first launch the game! In petz 5 you have to win your toyz in the mini-games. And most of the time you keep winning the same toy or treat or whatever over and over. So I would definately buy petz 4! Don't waste your money on the other versions!!

Yuck
I was not satisfied with this game.

There are no new breedz, unless you count pigz. Sure, these pigz are cute, but they aren't dogz, so I don't see where they came from. You can't breed them either. This is unfortunate.

There are new clothes, but they don't have complete outfits! For example, you get a knight's helmet, a knight's pants, and possibly a knight's socks, but no shirt. How is your dog supposed to be a Knight of the Round Table with no shirt? In fact, many shirts are missing from outfits. It's ridiculous!

You have new toys too. I have to say, I don't have many problems with the toys. Some are really neat, but the roach motel to get rid of roaches doesn't work. The dogz play with it and the cockroaches never go into it. I guess it gathers fleas.

You also have new playscenes. These are pretty cool except for one thing: they lose their toys. For example, the Circus has a cannonball, and the Snowscene has a sled. Both of these toys were gone the second time I opened the game. How are you supposed to enjoy the toys then? Disappointing, is it not?

You also have voice recognition. Too bad it doesn't work! It is annoying to get it installed, and it is even more annoying to get it to work. Then you finally get it to work and your dogz think you are saying "Sit" when you said "Stay". All in all, voice recognition is useless and I can't get it to work properly.

Finally, you have bugs, and I'm not talking about cockroaches. I mean computer bugs. The food dish bounces around when your petz jump or walk toward it, so they never get to eat. The dogz don't drink from the water bowl. Like I already said, toyz disappear from the playscenes. Playscenes you make in the editor may not work properly.

Basically, the only way to enjoy this game is to go online and download a thousand new breedz. I don't see why you should bother. This game is just like Dogz 3 except that it gets old quick and it is full of bugs. ... Read more

JUST SWIMMING!
Neat pets with a little fuss and no mess. You also do not have to be a computer game addict for you to be successful. This program makes a perfect fun program to add to your enjoyment of using your computer.

For the small price, you get hours and hours of entertainment. I kept my second fish tank going for over two years with only a few days of panic of what to do. Because of not reading the instructions in full before starting, on my first tank, I did not realize the setting on the tank was at a default of one hour which was equal to one day. By the time I checked hours later that night all my fish in that tank were dead! I was sick! Be careful at first.

I caught on quickly on how to build tanks, and putting different fish together. I rarely had sick fish, but I learned to cure their sicknesses. And I was thrilled in my original Aquazone program to find a surprise happening. You might too! I truly grieved my deceased fish, and became attached for those alive. This was a program which I did not so much think of as a game but, and interactive screen saver. These were my pet fish. I even had friends asking how my fish were doing.

When not using my computer I leave the tank on. The sound is relaxing, and the colors are beautiful. And I swear the fish at times know you are watching and do little movements to entertain.

The Aquazone web site offers additions to your tank. And searching the Internet will give you sites devoted to people who have made using Aquazone a fine science. What you could do with this program if you wanted to devote that much time is just amazing!

I would recommend this program to anyone but especially those who are not true game players, and to those who would like to have use of a successful, and user friendly program. I have had many real fish tanks, and have breed a few types of fish. I have also visited and purchased large quantities of fish for local pet stores. I found this program easy to use, colorful, very life like, and still very entertaining.

If you have never had real fish, this is a perfect way to get the feel and look of the real thing.

Alittle Disappointed
I am diabled and virtually a shut in, so this game was perfect for me as it takes time and knowledge to keep the fish alive and breeding. I was really enjoying these aquariums! But when I decided that I wanted to add fish, plants, medications, backgrounds,etc., I went to www.aquazone.com (which is where these items are obtained). I ordered $70 worth of items then was unable to download and unzip them. The unzipping prosess is very complex,and I never received my items. Furthermore,my money was not refunded. Beware - this game is very fun but can become very costly.

Aquazone Deluxe II with Guppies
This is one of the best games I have ever purchased. It was a bit hard at first...trying to learn how to care for my fish, and it is time consuming (you can set your aquarium speed to 0 if you need a break), but definitely well worth owning. Many people are disappointed with the program because the fish can die...and supposedly they can't be gotten back. This isn't true, however. When I first got the program LOTS of my fish died, and I figured out how to get them back. One of the best features is the Accessory Maker. I love creating my own accessories. It gives my tanks a personal touch. Thanks for reading my review, and have fun raising many generations of fish!

Compulsive Breeding!
I never expected a game to be this time-consuming, but the feeding and breeding demands of virtual fish can actually keep you glued to your monitor screen till the early hours of the morning. (-A warning to anyone trying to write serious dissertations and stuff!) You can get really uptight about the odd fish "dying", and over the moon when neon tetras actually manage to breed. My only serious criticism is the failure of distributors to provide the much advertised "Guppies Add-0n pack" and the promised Goldfish version. How much longer must we wait?

high hopes go belly up
I bought this game with the idea that it would be just a regalur fishtank on the computer.I love sim games so I was very excited to aquire this.At first it was great, I had some beautiful fish and they were living nicley I read the care guides and fed them at the right times but by the third day some of them became sick.I tried to care for them approprietly but they all died in about two hours. I was sad and unhappy naturally, so I went to get more fish and there werent as many fish as befor and eventually I used up all the fish.So I was confused why I didnt get anymore fish so I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it so I had all my fish back.Then I was looking through the box and found a paper that had the website address on it. I went to the site and found out after all your fish die you are supposed to buy more fish at inflated prices.I just returned the game for my money back. LOved it!
I got Creatures for Christmas two years ago, and immediately fell in love with it! The norns, were the first thing I loved! They were adorable, helpless things that need your love and attention to help them grow up, and breed! I have breed some amazingly cute norns, and downloaded a lot from the internet! There are always new worlds put into production by Creatures fans like myself! I have gotten some of my freinds to try it, and they loved it too! I strongly recommend this "game", a true learning experience!

Simply amazing for its time, or any time
This game is amazing but worrying.

The game is 2-D, but that won't matter, you don't "control" the creatures. There are no pre-programed creatures or behavior. The artificial inteligence demonstrated by the norns (the species of the creatures in this game) makes furbees look like those dolls that have a string you pull to make them talk (no offense to furbee lovers, especially if I can't spell furbee). Your role in this game is to be the "terrarium keeper". You have to try to keep them alive, happy, and healthy in the world they live in, which, although it isn't huge, will keep you happy. Your tool is the hand, with which you may pick up food, other animals, toys, interact with objects, and pet or dicipline your norns. You may have up to seven or eight norns in your world at a time, but you can export norns for future use, or give them to a fellow creatures player. The ultimate goal in this game is... well, I guess it is up to you. One goal is to create norns with strange or unique traits, such as colored skin or imortality. Also there is a score, affected by births, deaths, and your norns health. However, if you are interested in this game, there are two sequels, Creatures adventurtes, and other games with a similar premise, which you can find right here on Amazon.

The worrying thing about this series is the artificial intelegence, which sometimes almost seems alive. What does this say about us? If we can program a computer to emulate life increasingly well, including comunication, what is to say that someday we may create something that is a computer, and yet alive. It seems imposible, but if it will happen, it looks as though the day is close. Frightning, isn't it?

Classic
I bought this game when it was first released, and it has never ceased to amaze me... Because of the open-ended nature of gameplay, this title provides infinite replay value. As if the initial demonstration of very well constructed artificial intellegence (and hormone) systems wasn't enough, the real pleasure of this game is attained through discovery of how much of the norn's behavior can be controlled through both selective breeding and learning experiences. The social interactions are complex enough to keep you busy for a while, too. This title is still worth its initial price, and this reduced offer is certainly not one to pass up.

Requires patience and attention
This isn't a mind-candy game by any stretch. Creatures is a thought-provoking, often frustrating game in which you create "Norns" and then try to teach them survival skills, speech and social skills. Some do just fine, some are difficult and a few are just lost causes. You will never know until you're knee-deep in Norns, what you're dealing with.

If you buy this game, and I hope you will because it's very good, do yourself a favor and don't just jump in because you'll be lost right from the get-go. Read the info that comes with the game, it really will help. Bottom line: This is not a game for the easily distracted or those who want a lot of action, or something easy to win. Start creating these little guys and you're in for the long haul. Just like having kids.

Not as good as i thought
When i read about this game from the reviews listed i thought: wow! That sounds like so much fun. The truth is, it's boring and very confusing. Unlike most games creatures does not come w/ intructions in the cover case. It does come w/ instruction manuals in the game, but they are not very good and hard to understand. The norns are very cute, but when you tell them what they do they don't listen. Also, when the bad guys(the grendels)come you don't know what to do and i never, after playing for ten hours figured it out. In all, i think that this game is a waste of money and time. Great Game
This game is great and i think that the graphics are pretty good
but the only reason that i give it five stars is because on my computer i have expereianced many problems and then found that there are many people who have expereianced the same thing, i cant get mine to work any more but i do have C1 and C3 and they work great!!!!! if u go through any problems though you can go to their official site and they will help you by supplying you with patches and other stuff like that and if you go to a search engine, type in norn or C2 then you are going to be in for a heck of a lot of stuff:)

Creatures 2: Lots of Fun !
I love Creatures so much that one reason I got a PC is because they stopped making updated versions for Macintosh ! LOL. Creatures 2 is a lot like the first version, except the world is much bigger, the norns look slightly different but are still cute as can be, and there are more types of norns, which is fun ! You can even convert your Creatures One Norns into Creatures 2 norns using the 'nornverter' in your Creatures 2 folder ! So if you had any favorite norns you can update them into this new 'world'. It's great relaxation caring for the norns, and it's great for kids I think, it uses the imagination. The norns reproduce but not visibly... you just hear Pop ! (while one norn walks near another) and an egg soon appears from which hatches a brand new norn. The grendel is the 'bad guy' but all he can do is spread germs or hit them, and he mostly stays underground by the volcano.

Creatures 2 has a lot of fun things with it, especially if you get the Deluxe version with Lifekit #1. Even a helicopter ! Watching the look on the Norns' faces when flying around in the helicopter is hilarious ! You can even click on 'view' to see what they are thinking about or seeing. It's fun to think that they are actually 'looking' at something -- sometimes it's offscreen and until you click on 'view' you wouldn't even have known they were eyeing a carrot or toy in the distance. Hard to explain but this game is really unique.

A lot of people online are obsessed by this game, and invent new things for it and everything. Net search on Norns to see what I mean ! There is even a Creatures newsgroup. Anyway Creatures 2 is even more fun than Creatures One. I didn't like Creatures 3 as much, for various reasons. But if you liked Creatures (One), you'll love this one also ! There are lots of additions and improvements. Night falls, weather and seasons change, norns can even drown; but there are safeguards against that (i.e. PUFFER FISH rescue !). Their facial expressions are priceless. And when a new little baby 'nornlet' hatches -- all I can say is, awww ! (The norns have life stages even, such as infant, youth, adult, and 'pensioner' and their gait, and appearance, change accordingly). Creatures 2 reveiw
This is a really neat game, if you already have this game and are interested in games that have something in common there are also the creatures 1 and 3 series. They are equally as good, although I must admit, that creatures 3 has much better graphics and came out in November.( If your Looking for other interesting games, try myst ( pronounced Mist, but Spelled Myst) and It's sequel Riven, they are very interesting too! Creatures 2 = GREAT!!!!
I tried this at a friend's house and ordered mine from eBay (sorry Amazon, but THEY ship to Canada!) and it's a GREAT game! The norns are kind of hard to train ("freddy hungry, run grendel"... what?!?!) It's hard to make them eat, sleep, get away from the grendels, not drown... but it's a challenge. Also if you have little kids they should try Creatures Adventures. It's creatures for young children and it's also cute although I never tried it. This game is pretty old so it is at bargain prices now. Have fun! :-)

Creatures 2 review (Look Please)
Some of the other Reviews for Creatures 2 aren't so good, and I relize This, but once you get into it and you start to like the idea of saving the ecosystem, AND SOME REALLY CUTE NORNS from complete destruction,then you begin to understand your Norns, Grendels and Ettins. It's not as hard as people say. They're all close minded. this is a really challenging game, and I'll admit to that, but the norns do obey you, they do seem real, and they do listen to your commands, even if your not an animal tamer, and you can save Albia, Even if your not an expert bioligist. It's not as hard as people make it out to be. And the norns really are sweet things, I'll admit they aren't as cute and cuddly as the first Creatures adventure, but they are cute. I think that people just need to relax and try to understand the meaning of this game, which is really easy to do, I really like it. People just need to have an open opinion on some of these things. If you want my advice, this is a really interesting game, it makes you think, there are gene splicers to create your own norns, and ettins,and all types of neat adventures ready for you as you explore a computer world complete within itself, and virtualy perfect except for the Grendels.( YUUCCCKKKK! )This Truly is a great game, a work of 3D art, but if your not ready to give these creatures your full dedication and time, then this isn't the game for you, although it is fun. Have fun and play great, I hope kids of all ages can appreciate this wonderful game, but I don't recomend this game for anyone under 10 (It WILL be to hard for them! )have fun!

This game could do alot better!
When I first got this game I was so excited because it was used and I had been waiting for weeks. But when I got on the game it took me a while to even hatch an egg! The help would not work only tips! They say this game is for six and up well there is a fertility section that explains "sex vibes" and that is not appropriate for six and under plus the norns are impossible to feed so they die!!!
Please reconsisder before buying this game!

This is the best Creatures-game, I think!
1.Download the breeds and objects you find the most interesting from the net(like, the Life kits are now free!)
2.Hatch few norns, and teach them to speak
3.Explore the world with them, but be careful about going to the volcano, it has some radiation :o
4.The grendels are not really evil in this game, they hardly hit norns and are quite peaceful, but still, there's need to watch out
5.Breed your norns, and get interesting crossbreeds!
6.And so on...this game is the best ever! I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not as easy as it looks
This game is fun if you like a challenge but if you like something easier and fun you better exit this page and go and buy something like Dogz 4 or Catz4 because this game is not as easy as it looks. It's a great game with a lot of adventure and fun. But in my opinion you have to remember these four things 1. When you first start the game you have the option to bake a cake for your norns you can only bake a cake when you first open the game ( I haven't gotten the chance since they can never stay still) 2. Wherever the norms want to go you follow ( you'll know what I mean if you get the game)you don't get to what you want alot of times in the game if you can't agree on the same things. 3. If the norms don't get there way they'll get upset , angry or they will cry , depending on what kind of norm you have hatched. 4. In you creatures adventure's ( the one you get one you buy the game) guide under Feeding your norm it dayd " To feed your Norn, try to drop the food near it ; hopefully it will seee the food and want to know what it is. If the norn is hungry it will pick it up and eat it " IF IT DOES NOT SEE IT IT CAN BE VERY ANNOYING it will sit there and ask for food I try as much as possible to give it food and it willeither stand there crying or get angry. If it is raining it will get sick and you will have to go through the trouble of getting it better. If the norm does not see the food so repeats the process. If ALL OF THESE THINGS ANNOY YOU YOU SHOULD NOT GET THE GAME YOU THEN WOULD HAVE MADE A BIG MISTAKE. If these things don't annoy get the game !!! It's cool and there's alot to explore . Hope this review has helped you to descide to whether to purchase the item or not. BYE!!!!!!

Fun but Simple
Creatures Adventures is so much fun to play! The norns are so cute! I do wish the game was a little more complicated. If you like simple and happy games, this game is for you. But if you like hard games that have lots of violance, don't buy this game. I would recommend it to kids 6-10.

child's dream
This is a vertiual pet game and it is cute. It was bought for my seven year old daughter who absoulutly adores it. The game is simple and doesn't have alot of tecnical stuff to confuse her. The graffics of the world and the creatures are beyond compare. I do think We should get the expansion world though(Creatures Play Ground)mainly becausse the area of play is so small. But even alone it is a great game.

Worst Creaturest game..
This game isn't the best of Creatures. You can't teach norns to speak. There are no other species than norns(there were grendels and ettins in the another C-games) And, norns age too fast! They live only one game year! And you can have only 4 norns at a time...there's nothing exciting about the game...Well, I know that this game is meant to younger children(I'm 14), but still, this is a too dull version of Creatures games. The game has no actual story, like the other norn games had. There are not even any addons aviable for this in the net!
So, only 1 stars from me!!
