Great for little starters!
My daughter began with Freddi Fish at the age of 3 years. She would play on the computer for hours, and she was learning while having fun. This is a great program for little starters, to begin learning how to use the mouse and how to use basic computer skills. It would make an excellent gift!

A fantastic bargain for three wonderful kids titles!
My three year old daughter started out with Freddi Fish number 2. We now own all five Freddi Fish titles. This great pack comes with three cd's. Each cd is number one in the series for each character. All three main characters are really cute and easy to follow. The graphics are great on all the cd's, and each adventure has some great fun songs in them. In each scene, there are a lot of things to click on so that the kids really get good mouse practice. This is a great set to get for a child who is just starting out on the computer. An experienced user will love it too. Each title is good for a boy or a girl.
We have over 20 kids games, and this set is by far the very best.

Great games, great buy
My 5 year old son loves all of these games. We had a different Pajama Sam game which he loved and I couldn't pass up the deal offered here. I'm sure glad I got it. Humongous does a great job creating fun games with staying power. They are just hard enough to keep your attention, but easy enough not to be frustrating for a 5 year old. At this age, its unnecessary to get the newest games, as long as the games are new to the kids, that's all you need. These 3 games will provide months of entertainment at a great price.

Humongous Fun
We bought this set for my son before he was 2 and he learned all the tricks in the Putt Putt game right away with me moving the mouse for him. Now he's a bit over 2 and he's learned how to use the mouse so he can do Putt Putt and Fredi Fish by himself. He doesn't always get everything right but he loves to play. The games are very creative and if the child doesn't click on the right thing, lots of funny things happen to whatever they click. He's still too young for Pajama Sam but some older friends of his love it. This is a terrific set at a great price. One tip: make sure you click on the topiary creatures before you go in the zoo in the Putt Putt game - there's a very cute song and dance they do.

Just as much of a success as the Junior Arcade series!
My 5-year old and his 3-year old sister have thoroughly enjoyed the Junior Arcade series which in many ways are HE's homage to classic arcade games (Defender, Breakout, Q*Bert, etc.)

But after reading numerous reviews especially here on Amazon I realized that I had to pick up one of the Adventure series as my kids love the characters, and would be working on some problem-solving and observational skills, among other things. Plus I knew the humour would make the grown-ups laugh along with the little ones.

Boy was I right! Just picked up this little value pack today, and they wouldn't go to bed until we finished the Pajama Sam title! It's true that the puzzles are hard enough to be challenging, but not frustratingly impossible to figure out (the carrot-fridge connection was so obvious that it never occurred to me for the longest time!)

I love knowing my son can play it again a second time with some of the puzzles changed, and a few "hidden" sections awaiting as well! It has better replay value than many games out there for the grown-ups!

I highly recommend this collection, as well as any of the other Pajama Sam/Spy Fox/Freddi Fish/Putt-Putt titles for parents looking for wholesome, challenging, and occasionaly laugh-out-loud enjoyable kids games! I get a chance to relive my own youth (this title reminded me of playing King's Quest 1 and 2 back in my teens) while encouraging my kids to think creatively rather than just go through the same repetitious routine again and again like most games out there... What more could you ask for in a kid's game?

Great entertainment, and good learning too.
This is a great set of games. They're hard enough that solutions aren't always obvious (even to the adult), but easy enough that with time and effort even a 3 year old can master them eventually. They're also fun enough that the 3 year old in question was more than willing to put in the time. In fact it was hard to pry him away from them. The characters are engaging, and there are a lot of small games internally that can be played regardless of what's going on in the larger game. Freddi 3: Conch Shell
My parents bought this game for my daughter. Being somewhat of a "game snob," I was somewhat skeptical of its merit. This game turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise! It was quite enjoyable, reminiscent of those old Infocom games I played as a child. My three-and-a-half-year-old daughter absolutely loved it. She was glued to the computer for a month, and would probably have remained there longer if Christmas hadn't come. As it is, she still revisits this game occassionally.

This game has the following desirable features:

1. Replayability -- There are roughly 10 quests to solve, but only three appear in a given game. The final quest at the end also has a random element

2. Challenge -- These puzzles are not trivial for young children. Even Dad had to think for a minute or two on some of these puzzles.

3. Attention to detail -- Most things in this game will react when you click on them. This ties in with the replayability. For example, my daughter spent hours clicking on the monkey and squealing with delight when it reacted with disgust upon peeling bannanas full of bugs. This also kept the frustration levels low when the puzzles were too difficult for her to solve on her own.

4. Memory building -- I was amazed at how quickly my daughter caught on when I helped her solve puzzles. This game builds memory skills that will definitely prove useful in years to come

Probably the best series
My son started torturing the computer at the age of 2, and still does three years later. We tried many games, but the software from Humongous is really the best, and the Freddi fish is a beatiful series of a crime/detective type. It's wery well designed, kids have a feeling of interacting with an animation movie. We ended up having all F.Fs and Putt-putts (other series from Humongous). Would advise to any parent to have it.

best computer game in our house
This is the best computer game in our house....and the most played! My 4 year old playes it over and over. She loves the characters, the music, and hunting for the clues. She doesn't get bored with it because it changes every time she playes it, and it really makes her think. This game was definitely worth the money!

very challenging
Even though my daugter loves the characters, music and animation, we found this game to be very long (thank goodness you can save it and continue later!). This is the main reason why I am rating it only 3 stars. However, if you work with your child until you and she/he can find all the clues, then she/he will be able to remember are and master the game her/himself. Personally, we have yet to complete a game.

One Year Later
My son received this game as a gift on his fourth bithday, and still plays it on a regular basis! That's more than I can say for any toy or game he has ever owned. The ever-changing scenerios within the game keep it fresh and new every time he plays. I am still amazed that such a long and involved game can keep his attention for so long, and for so many times over. I credit that to the excellent animation, music, plot, and over-all challenge of the game. Great game for young kids
My four-year-old son's favorite games over the past year, by far, are the Freddi Fish ones. They are challenging, change a bit every time but maintain enough consistency to be easy to navigate, and are lots of fun. The later games (#4 and up?)have a "save" feature, which is awesome. Highly recommend!

Only Getting Better, A family Favorite
My husband and I both enjoy playing this game. More importantly, our son, age four, really enjoys it. This game encourages creative thinking, problem solving, memory skills and more. One thing I particularly like is that each time you solve the game and it's over, when you begin again, it's like palying a new game. The problems change, the puzzles change, the objects you need to find and collect change.

These games have gotten better with each game.

Well worth the money.

My three year old loves Freddi! Her first pc game
I bought this for my daughter when she was two and a half. We put it in and played with it together for a few months. Just before she turned three, I let her play with it by herself to practice using the mouse. She loves it! The graphics are cartoony and fun, and the verbal instructions given by Freddi are simple. There are so many things to click on in most scenes that it will grab attention. My daughter just practiced using the mouse and getting it to click on the right picture. Now she solves the mystery and completes the game all by herself.
Bottom line:
A great beginner software for three and up.

Freddi Fish 4: The Case of th Hogfish Rustlers of Briny Gulc
Neat idea but my 6 year old loses interest. It is too complicated to keep him involved. We (mom and dad) enjoyed playing it but it took too long to find clues and there were too many levels for him to understand what was happening.

More fun w/ Freddi- if you're ready
First things first: the suggested age range for all Freddi Fish games (3-8)is very misleading, no matter how smart you think that your 4 y.o. is. Everybody thinks that their very bright 4 y.o. should be able to enjoy the game- and if they don't, it's a problem with the game. The fact is that it takes until 5 / early 6 for both the spatial concepts & (esp.) the level of perserverence needed to get developed enough to enjoy the game. And then they enjoy it hugely. Our girls (now turning 6 & 7) enjoyed this Freddi hugely, as they have the others.

Freddi Fish!
Just checked out this newest Freddi Fish and I'm very excited to give this to my nephews. This game is easier to navigate than the last, but the puzzles are very challenging, varied and fun. As always a wonderful bunch of characters. Charming and funny. Great!

Super Fun
This is a great game. My son and I have a blast playing it, and he's played it over and over again by himself as well. The game teaches a lot of deductive thinking, the story and characters are interesting. It is a very wholesome computer game for kids, plus teaches very good reasoning and thinking skills.

It's My Turn!
My five year old niece and I have spent many hours playing this game. I enjoy it so much, I have to keep insisting that it is my turn! Freddie and Luther meet many characters and have to find and discover how to use the clues. I can't remember where I was or how to get back to and from the many rooms, but my niece can. Once you think you have solved the puzzle, you travel to a completely different world to finish it! And if you play again, some things will have changed! This game is more useful than it looks! You can make growth charts, color books, stamp, party cards, invitations, envelopes, paper chains, mobiles, party hats, puppets, and much, much, much more. The music is borrowed from the first four games, but it's still nice, and the Parent's Printer Saver limit's the output to make sure you don't waste a fortune on ink and paper, though the game should come with a coupon. Vere Fun

Our 4 year-old is addicted to Freddie Fish
Our 4 year-old daughter received this product for Christmas. She has been playing it almost daily for a month. Each games varies just enough to keep her interested. She enjoys searching for clues as well as playing the games along the way ("writing" on the chalkboard, watching movies). She needed some assistance the first few times but now is able to play on her own. This is the best software that she has and we will definitely be purchasing some of the other Freddie Fish games.

Freddi (and Luther's) Third Great Game!
Despite the title, this game is the third, because of the one and one halfth arcade wedged in between the first and second. In this game, a ghost is haunting the schoolhouse and frightening little guppies. You need to build a trap for it. You go around watching movies, playing games, and singing songs as breaks to solving the ever-changing puzzle of how you can find all of the pieces to the trap. Kids will love this game, and parents will love it, too! Kids will learn mapping, problem solving, and social friendship, while having a lot of fun! The age group is what I would call underestimated because even kids much above age 8 can enjoy it! There's a lot of calypso music in the backround that is fun to listen to! (Unfortunatly, the disc is not CD player compatible, so you have to listen to the music on your computer.) You should buy this game, but you can also get it in "A World of Fun and Learning First Grade Edition". If you liked this game, you'll love Freddi Fish 1, 3, 4, and any other sequels that may be released! You'll also probably like Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, and SPY Fox games.

Different each time you play!
If you have not caught on to Freddi, take a second look. This is an interactive game that is age appropriate and lots of fun. The child directs Freddi and his buddy through the waters in an attempt to gather all the makings of trap such that a fake ghost can be revealed. It teaches problem solving skills and hold the interest of a child (and adults) throughout.
