5-0 out of 5 stars My Girls Love It!!
My daughter received this for her fourth birthday and she plays with it everyday. It is also interesting enough that my 8 year-old also plays with it. I had to help the 4 year-old quite a bit in the first week or two, reinforcing where to click, how to get from screen to screen, etc., but she's able to navigate the program herself now. I wouldn't recommend it for younger than 4 though, it has a lot of features that can get confusing for the little ones. My 8 year-old uses the program to its full potential, making picture scenes with props, sounds and colors, choreographing characters in an acrobatic show, playing a "pac-man" style maze game starring Melody and playing a diving game as well. For the price, I was surprised that it had such good features and pretty straight forward directions and navigation. It's a hit at our house! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One Gem of a Program
Not only has "Stanley" become our 3 year-old son's favorite program on TV, it's also the one my wife and I admire the most. The creative team behind "Stanley" does a remarkable job of making the show educational AND fun. However, we had modest hopes for this software, because other educational software titles we've bought based on TV or movies have proven to span the quality spectrum from merely okay to downright lame.

Wow, were we ever pleasantly surprised. "Stanley: Wild for Sharks" borders on amazing. It's truly fun, yet truly loaded with educational opportunities. The creative team behind the software has done a commendable job of injecting a "scaffolding" approach to teaching young ones, and they've seemed to maximize the opportunities for challenging the three to six year-old set while minimizing the avenues that might lead to frustration as proficiency with the program increases.

I've lately tried to avoid giving a product five stars simply because I like it, but this one deserves six.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Enjoyable on many levels
My son's new interest in aquatic life, particularly sharks, is what led us to this software program. He's four years old and very used to working on the computer so we have quite a collection of software. Well, this has become one of his favorite programs for many reasons but mainly because it is FUN. The key character, Stanley, is very likable, smart, and determined to get his school project finished. His British/Australian (?) sounding fish friend sounds nice to listen to and is a good "thinking" companion to Stanley throughout the program. The graphics and music are also very colorful and upbeat. Apart from just playing, I see that my son is also learning bits of information on ocean animals by referencing the "Great Big Book of Everything" during the game. The only frustration is that he wants to start every game from the beginning and if you click on a previously entered name the game picks up where you left off. Other software programs let you choose to start a new game each time. Nonetheless, we both like this program so much that I'm going to explore other Stanley software. By the way, we don't watch the TV program so it's not necessary to know the characters in advance of playing. Just have fun! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fun Game That Helps with the Basics
This is one of the few games we own that challenges my four-year-old without boring him. Some of the other software we've purchased is too complicated for him to navigate on his own or the lessons are too basic. When he gets stuck in this game, a cartoon character pops up and gives a brief lesson. The lessons are short and catchy enough that they are actually interesting. Of course, my son often ignores the directions and moves through the game by trial and error. It helps to have an adult sit with him, so that he gets some educational value out of playing. On the other hand, sometimes we just let him do the trial and error thing, and he still has a great time. I think this is a wonderful game for a four-year-old to grow into. It helps, of course, that my son is a big Mickey Mouse fan.

The software basically allows the child to go to different "rooms" and complete tasks (games) that teach basic skills. In one room, the game is to alphabetize books that are labeled with just one letter of the alphabet. In another game, the child assembles suits of armor. Each piece of the armor is labeled with a number, and the child has to put the numbered armor together in different ways. The games get progressively more difficult as the child masters each step. I'm especially impressed with the fun way this game introduces addition and subtraction.

I'm now looking for a new game, and I'm trying to find one that's a cross between this software and Jumpstart's World Languages (the other game my son always wants to play.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun....And Learning, Too!
This is a really great game. In it, Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and Donald have to navigate through a spooky old house while being watched by those "3 spooky ghosts" from one of the old Disney movies. There are five or six areas to navigate, and it also includes a progress chart area like the Jumpstart series. This is a lot more fun, tho. If you have ever been to the Haunted Mansion at DisneyWorld it makes it even better. My daughter who is almost 5 has been doing very well with it and instead of being bored with the "educational" components, she is having fun with it and being excited about learning. Def buy it! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Baby drugs
I call this baby drugs because when my child plays this game he becomes completely involved and will watch it forever. However, this is not really and interactive game as much as it is a video on the computer. True, the child must press some key for the game to continue, but it is highly irregular. At some points in the game pressing the keyboard will do nothing until the entire scene has been played. In my opinion this leads to the child not truly understanding the cause and effect of pressing the keyboard. The child never has to "point and click" but they can drag the mouse over the item desired to select and it will automatically choose it. The problem this leads to is if the mouse stays in the correct spot the game will continue to move forward with no requirement of the child. Its rather difficult to explain, but the best way to put it is that this turns into a video for the child to watch. It does not require any parental control so if you need to do a chore and keep your child interested without your supervision this game works. However, if you truly want your child to have an interactive game I would advise Reader Rabit. This game will keep your childs attention but it would be cheaper to just buy a DVD. You child will learn just as much from that. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantasy Dressing Artist Designer Dream for Every Princess
This is soooooo fun and beautifull and all the princesses! No problem at all with my computer in installing and the voices are beautifull and clear. I guess the sound in the other reviewer's computer must have had a problem. This is the BEST fashion cd rom with the plus of having the princesses in it that I have seen. My daughter is 4 and can play with it. But its a discovery type game, ie you find out how everything works as you get more familiar with it. In the beginning things seem not to be working but with time you see that OH, now I have to drag and click not just click, or OH here you have to click on the icon first and then on the picture for it to do what you want! Have patience and you will become an expert princess! Very cheap for the amount of stuff you can do with it, also grows with the child. For young ones mom should play with it BEFORE the child to avoid initial frustration so you can explain some of the quirks to her first. Happy princessing this is a dream!

4-0 out of 5 stars We Love Cinderella

3-0 out of 5 stars Slick but a bit buggy--and not that much fun
Nicely done and a good bit of variety, but we found it buggy in places (wrong answers, mostly). It's also quite hard for a first-grader: from the second level on up it's got tough multiplication and and three-digit subtraction. More to the point, the six-year-old proclaimed it boring, and I have to agree.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad
My six year old got this game last year and loved it. It's a lot of fun, but only marginally educational. I think the Jumpstart series is much better. He does have fun with it though, and it does help reinforce skills such as math and geography. It doesn't help much in the language arts area. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Five Stars With A Caveat
If your child is into the daily Pooh show on the Disney channel, he/she will enjoy this game. As with all the other Pooh software, this is entertaining and educational. My son loves it.

With that said, I will also say that the game does not run properly on my son's PC. This machine is pretty new, and its components meet or exceed the game's requirements. The game runs slow, and the sound comes out in an "echo" fashion. The game works just great on my PC though!

Both myself and my son were a bit disappointed that it did not work as all his other software does. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Teacher Recommended!
I teach kids on a K-4 level and they all love this game! Phonics, letter reconision, even ABC order. My students fight over this one. Better for younger students/children just learning to read or with a minimum reading background.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good choice for learning letter
My 3-year-old son really enjoys this. It's easy to navigate, colorful and fun. AND it does a nice job of teaching ABC basics.

3-0 out of 5 stars disney reading abc/disney math 123
The six demo discs mentioned in a review were not sent with my order nor is there any indication that they will be coming. Also the disc appears to be the same as a previous disc I purchased entitled Disney's ready for Reading/Math. This is a great disc, but reviews and titles were deceiving which accounts for my disappointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars A One Hundred Acre Wood Full Of ABC Fun!!!
Winnie The Pooh ABC's is a wonderful, educational way to learn, and have fun with Pooh. ABC's is adopted from the original Ready To Read With Pooh, but even if you already have that, it will still be a blast. As you begin Pooh will greet you with his cheerful "Here We Go Floating" song. Then, he will land right in front of your tree house, and he will say so. After which, Gofur will give you one of his mailboxes and you get to put your name on it.
(Be sure to check your mail every time you come back to your tree house, because there will be letters from Pooh's friends that you can print.) Every direction around the tree house will be a game. To the west, there is Roo's Sandy Pit. Roo wants to play with his friends, but they are all to busy. So, Tigger makes friends from the sand for Roo to play with. Now it's time to imagine. First, you pick a sand friend, then an object from the sand, and then
Roo will imagine the rest. He likes to imagine at least five times, so you will keep track with flowers by the sand pit. Afterwards, Gofur will dig up a hole from the pit and reveal your prize. Take my word for it, this is the best game in the CD-ROM. If you go in an eastish direction, you will find Tigger's Jack In The Boxies. Tigger wants to play with all his jack in the boxies, but he forgot to label all of them to tell what sound they make. That's going to be your job. You need to click on all of the boxies, and see what sound they make. Then you need to take the letter off of a log and put it on that boxie. After that the boxie will open and show you something that starts with that letter. After all four sets are complete, then another boxie will drop from the sky. Gofur will be in it with your prize. Finally, if you head "due north, by northwoodly", you will come to the game Eeyore's Book. It was another blustery day in the Hundred Acre Wood, and poor Eeyore's book was torn to shreds. It is up to you to put all the pictures back on each page. There are twenty-six pages on level one, and twelve on levels two and three. After each book is fixed, Eeyore will give you bookmarks to print and color, and the prize from Gofur will be the book that you completed. Speaking of prizes, you're probably wondering where they are going. Well, back to your tree house of course. Prizes will appear on the outside and inside of your tree house.

So far it sounds like a great game, but wait it gets better. Also included are six, that's right, six demo games. There's Winnie The Pooh Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten. The same with Mickey Mouse. In Pooh Toddler and Mickey Toddler, help Pooh and friends get down to the ground after hanging on balloons, and help Minnie look for shapes all around her house. Toddlers don't even have to click to play most of it!!! Then, in Pooh Preschool and Mickey Preschool, help Pooh think of words to say to the magic tree to hear it in a different language, and help Goofy make 100 percent goof cars. Finally in Pooh Kindergarten and Mickey Kindergarten, make Tigger act out actions using wacky sentences, and learn the alphabet while keeping Goofy falling off the edge of a not-yet-completed building. Other titles in the Winnie The Pooh Learning Series include Pooh 123's, Spelling, Ready To Read, Ready For Math, Preschool, Toddler, and Kindergarten. You think I'm done? Yes, I am. Well that's it. I hope this review has helped you and encourages you to get this CD-ROM. ... Read more

All my drivers are the latest. Do see what the problem was and the Disney website is of no help. I may have to return the product if I dont get this working

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the best!
Wow, It's unfortunate to see people not able to get this game to run, because it is the best, most entertaining kids game my kids have played yet!

After buying and finding all the other Monsters Inc garbage (the Scream Arena, and other games so convoluted and terrible that we took all of them back), this one is pure gold. My kids play it every day, and because of the different ways to get kids to laugh in the bedroom portion, it's never the same game twice.

Stylistically, the game fits standard Freddi Fish kind of adventure gaming. Finding pieces, talking to various people, and clicking on everything to see the little animations.

Amazing stuff, i wish every kids game I bought was this good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pooh - 6 stars, Mickey - 2 stars. Buy it for 2-4 YO!
Pooh CD is really great for 2-4 year olds. It offers several 6-7 (!) various activities. All of them are interesting and useful in some way. Each has 3 different difficulty levels, so your child can grow with the program. The visual quality is extremely high and this software can work on older PC. I run it on my old PIII 350 without 3d card and was very happy.

Mickey CD has a couple of activities, but they are either not challenging enough or, when challenging, are too boring. I doubt your child will be using it much.

Overall, the Pooh game is so good, it makes the whole package worth the money.

Good luck!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent, cohesive, glitch-free software for your toddler
This is a terrific package of toddler software, featuring one disc of Winnie the Pooh Toddler and one disc of Mickey Mouse Toddler. Activities are inherently interesting to children -- colorful, musical problem solving and play -- and generally have three difficulty levels in order to customize the experience.

In Winnie the Pooh, each activity (involving letter recognition, sorting, counting, music, sequence completion and painting) occurs in one of the main characters' houses, and children use a navigation screen showing all the houses situated in 100 Acre Wood. As each activity is completed, that character is free to attend Eeyore's birthday party. When all of the activities are completed, your child can attend the party and watch the story ending. This kind of cohesive play is sorely missing from most kids' software.

In Mickey Mouse Preschool, the navigation screen is set at a diner and gas station run by Goofy. Activities include music, design, arcade shooting, following directions, opposites and games. Most are car-oriented, which is especially fun to many children. While this game doesn't have an overarching goal like that in the Winnie the Pooh game, it is lively and fun.

The two discs make a terrific combination for your 2- to 4-year old. Highly recommended. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My girl prefers Ollo but still likes Moop & Dreadly
I am occasionally surprised at what my four-year-old daughter likes to play. I thought since she loved "Ollo at the Sunny Valley Fair" so much she would equally adore this problem solving game also made by Plaid Banana. But she can't see them in a similar light. She played "Moop and Dreadly" and enjoyed it but doesn't choose it as one of her favorites. I love the graphics, music, and clever jokes. I am so glad that I have a copy of it now that it is harder to find. I prefer it over Ollo and find it has a cunning, sharp wit but it is not really up to me, is it?

5-0 out of 5 stars Really fun!
This game is really fun. Good puzzles that are appropriate for the target age range.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for old and young!
...my 9 year old nephew had a ball with this game! It kept him entertained for a long while until he had to give up his computer time to his older brother. This game keeps your attention with colorful characters and fun gameplay. The puzzles were thoughtful, even if some were easier than others. It was also fun to practice Spanish while he played. The game we bought had both English and Spanish languages on it. Brilliant idea!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
The story line is funny (with jokes all ages can appreciate), the graphics were good, and the puzzle are age-appropriate. I hope they make more in this series!

2-0 out of 5 stars SLOW & BORING!
I can't believe they say this game is for 5-10 year
olds! It is SO SLOW! You spend alot of time going back
and forth, there is ALOT of repetition. The characters
move slowly and you have to keep going back and forth
to different spots to find different things you need
to get the treasure. It is no where near as fun or
entertaining as Pajama Sam, I can't believe the same
people made this game. Huge disappointment! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Another Broken Disney Title
Games from Disney Interactive consistently don't work for me. They run slowly, crash, and freeze.

3-0 out of 5 stars Looks good...but...
I convinced my daughter (age 7) to buy this game with her money in hopes that it would favorably compete with her current TV viewing schedule. The graphics and 3D aspects look great and the game seems interesting to play (for me). My daughter who loves educational software AND simple arcade type games finds this program boring. This is likely because of the ships transit time between events. For gamming fun, she prefers to bring up my copy of Half Life in multiplayer mode (without any other players) and explore/navigate around the environments.

5-0 out of 5 stars buy it asap

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Disney's fault
Okay, so this game can be a littl hard, and sometimes a little annoying. But it is not Disney's fault if a game doesn't live up to the movie. For one thing, Disney doesn't even make the games themselves, They have a supporting company make them. I read a couple of reviews saying that 4-5 year olds have gotten frustrated with the game. Let me tell you something, If a child gets frustrated with something, don't just sit there and let them get frustrated. Help them out a bit, even if it may be hard for you too. I babysit a 5 year old that gets frustrated with this game, but she keeps trying, and doesn't give up. I understand not all kids are like this. They like to have fun when they're on the computer, and they don't want any challenges. If this is the case, then maybe they should stick with learning games, and not try to play action/adventure games until they get old enough to understand what they have to do in the game.
Anyway, I give this game a 3 rating. It is a decent challenge, but not recommended for kids under 5, unless they have an adult by thier side to help.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad
Save your money, this game is bad. Even my 5 year old said she didn't like it. Some parts were too hard, some parts were stupidly easy/boring. Mr. Bubbles voice over gets really really old. He talks so slow and deep and you gotta sit though it to figure out what to do next. Honestly, I would be embarassed if my name was on this box.

1-0 out of 5 stars Shame on you, Disney... This game is pathetic
This is probably the worst game my child has owned. It is less imaginative than I would expect for a $20 game from Disney. Gameplay is way to hard for a 4-5 year old. My 4 1/2 year old boy has enjoyed other disney games as well as the Reader Rabbit series, Tonka Games, and Starflyers games... but when playing this one he actually started crying and hit himself on the head in frustration. At that point I took the helm and realized that the game was very difficult to play. For example... in one game you need to feed coffee to Stitch in order to drive a car, but the coffee bottle is about 80 pixels wide and the target area to click is only about 5 pixels wide and is totally obscured by the bottle icon, making this very frustrating. The graphics are poor. The games are boring. There is nothing redeeming about this game. For shame, Disney... this game is a terrible thing to do to a child.

4-0 out of 5 stars cute, but it could be better...
"Lilo & Stitch Hawaiian Adventure" is a collection of games inspired by Disney's sweet animated movie. Although Disney recomends the game for kids ages 4-7, I think some well beyond maybe beyond age 20 will find this tricky. A game at the Luau, for example, took me several tries before I finally won it at the hard level. In it, players have to feed customers, give customers checks, keep Jumba & Pleakley away from Stitch, and keep Stitch calm. Take my word for it, it's not easy. Another game where players clean Lilo's house is frustrating even on the "easy" level. I still havn't won this one on the hard level. The best game is one where players help Stitch build alien buildings at a weird looking construction site. It plays like an arcade game, so it's pretty replay friendly. Also, the animation of Stitch in this game is REALLY cute.

One of my main problems with "Lilo & Stitch Hawaiian Adventure" is the game's finale. Inspired by the film's way cool space chase, players have to help Stitch rescue Lilo from Gantu. While the first part of this game is fun and tricky, the two levels that follow are too easy and slow. That's disapointing seeing how this was a great idea for an arcade game.

Another problem: I don't think Cobra Bubbles should be hosting most of the games here. Why does Lilo only host one of the games? Why don't Jumba and Pleakley host more of them? I mean, Cobra Bubbles probably isn't the favorite charactor from the film of too many kids, you know.

Yes, it's true Disney has made better games than this, but this isn't bad. It's pretty cute, there are some hard games, and the construction game rocks. ALOHA!

4-0 out of 5 stars Lilo & Stitch
Our 4 1/2 year old loves it but it has some difficult parts even in the easy. I still cann't pass the "clean the room" part even on the easy level. She gets fustrated at times but it also keeps her entertained. The diner is challenging and although she always looses along the way she is very entertained. I like it because some games are hard and others are good for her now so I think she will grow with it. With 7 games it is easy to switch from game to game by clicking a shell so you don't have to stay at one game until you pass. My husband likes playing the hard parts and sometimes won't give it back to her (smile!). ... Read more
