Hours of fun with this game!!
I did Where in the USA .. Carmen Sandiego at school and it's way way better than this one!! But this one is fun too. Since this is a two pack, I like the Where in the World .. Carmen Sandiego better than the Carmen Sandiego Chase Through time. In the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, you get to go like every country!! At first, I thought it would be hard that you have to find her somewhere in the "world", but after the first case, I got used to it and it was very fun. My brother was watching, he's only five and he caught on to it!! AMAZING!! This game is for ages 8-12, and the Where in the World one is for windows:95/98/XP, was I glad that they had it for XP!! Oh and this is for macintosh too. Except, the Great Chase through Time one doesn't work well for windows XP. I didn't buy this at Toysrus though, I got it from CompUSA check their website and see if this is available in your nearest CompUSA!! Carmen Sandiego Review
This program was fun and hard to solve. It was a wonderful learning experiance for me, I was far ahead in history and social studies because Carmen was hiding in some very interesting places. I recommend this program to kids 8-13 because its hard to understand in some ways but really fun when you get it. Oh, I'm off to find Carmen with Shakespere, bye!

Won't work on Win 2000 or Win XP
Usually programs that work on Win 98 will work on Win XP and Win 2000. Not this one. Just be aware of this.

This is a fun game that takes you to some dates throughout history. Carmen Sandiego is trying to rewrite history, and you must stop her.
This is a good game, but I gave it four stars because it's short game. Afteryou beat a level, you can go back to those levels later. A few of the levels are pretty hard, but most are easy.

A learning adventure filled with excitement
Carmen has done it again, packing learning into an exciting adventure. Carmen has taken her villains back in time to steal priceless historical treasures.
The mission, travel to the past, solve any historical problems that Carmen's crew cause, and catch the villains.
The adventure will have you wrapping mummies in ancient Egypt, repairing pipes in Rome, traveling with Columbus and much more.
Recommended age level 9+ but we found it easy enough for a six year old with minimal help.

Carmen Sandiego: The Simple Chase Through Time
With no time limit, and a guide who tells you what you need to know, this game isn't challenging and is best suited for children (although occasional assistance from an adult may be necessary). Compared to the original Carmen Sandiego, this version lacks a certain element of suspense and difficulty I was looking for. Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
This is a good game that will teach children about world geography but younger children may get frustrated with this game. It is really geared toward pre-teens and you have to listen closely to the clues in order to determine where is the world is Carmen. This game will work with Windows XP Home Edition but you have to run it in compatibility mode.

Warning: It¿s not an easy game.
This game is a little frustrating for any child who cannot yet associate a continent with the following clues: kroner, Ho Chi Minh trail, outback, Sahara. I had to help out more than either of us would have liked. On the other hand, it's fun, so she is motivated to try. And she is learning a lot!

Carmen has made my child a geography whiz!
I have a 10 year old daughter who I have seen spend, literally, multiple hours on our PC engaged in what I call "virtual globe- trotting" in an effort to find Carmen and her partners in crime.

Players use the Digiketch to piece together a composite image of the suspect as they unlock clues describing his/her appearance.(Once you get a complete image, you can issue an arrest warrant!)

There is a World Wiz Database that helps players learn more about the countries that the suspect may have visited. This game introduces foreign phrases, international travel, and problem solving skills in a way that no other medium could.

I highly recommend this game as a means by which a child's horizons can be greatly broadened.

A first-class program.
I love this game. While chasing Carmen and her gang around the world, you come across funny characters, puzzling clues, interesting locations, and you learn a lot about geography and history at the same time! They did a magnificent job on this game - I wish I could find that missing last disk so I could install it again on my new computer!

very educational game not only for kids but for adults alike
i have this software about 7 years ago and my nephew was only 8 years old then but he just loved playing the game. he used to play it everytime he comes home from school that he soon got to learn about the different places in the world, learn about world geography:the peoples, cultures & products of the different countries. and most of all, he just loved catching the crooks and really had a fun time with the game. even his mother and my other sister also enjoyed playing the game with him. two years after that however, a virulent virus "killed" my software of carmen sandiego and so my younger nieces didn't get the chance to enjoy it as much as their older brother did. i've been looking for this kind of software ever since but i guess it was not just available here in our country (or maybe it's just very difficult to look for one here). i've found out that it is available at amazon.com and, boy, i'm so glad!

very interesting
Even as old as the game is now, and how long ago I bought it, I still have the urge to play it every now and then. It is addicting and educational at the same time. It isnt too easy nor too hard which is why my little brother adores it, loving the cartoon-like characters that he gets to direct. Technically, the game is good. I had no trouble installing it on several different machines, and there were hardly any problems playing it. It's definetly worth the money.

Great game!
I've always been the BIGGEST fan of carmen stuff. When I came to this game I had a great day of fun. Even though this game only has like 7 missions they were very fun and exciting! The people from all the countries talked in very distinctive languages in respect of their countries. The plot of the game is fun and I hope you will enjoy this game as much as I did. I hope they make new carmen games or at least make a new plot of the origionals!

Who in the World Doesn't Love It?
Before Broderbund software pops the question- ' Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?', what arises in one's head is ' Who in the World is Carmen Sandiego?'Cloaked in red, hat askew on her auburn cascade of hair, a malicious grin playing on her lipstick soaked lips, is the World's Queen of Crime- Carmen Sandiego. And as an Acme agent, it's your mission to snare the peripatetic pilferer and land her in the clink.

UH OH!!!
I just wrote a review for this last time, but i din't know it's only for windows 98 and below!! At school it's windows xp and it works, the makers of Carmen Sandiego gotta work this out. It's 2004 and they need to make new ones!!! AHHHHHH But i do recommend this to people!! :)

Need I say more?
I absolutely love this game, so does my best friend. Last Friday was the first day I tried it. I thought I solved a case but, the lady said I needed a warrant, what's that? But besides that I'm so excited to play that game until it's my group's turn!! I plan to get it but who knows, maybe I get the computer game or the gamecube one. No matter what, I think this game is a blast. I recommend this ages 9-12. But be careful when you solve your case, you have to solve it before your fuel or gas runs out!!
This game is for kids that likes mystery, adventure, and wants to learn. Now I say those kids are smart!

What can I say?
What is there to say about Carmen Sandiego? This game is so much fun, and at 12 years old, I still love to play it! It's education AND fun at the same time, and you don't find many games like that nowadays. Carmen Sandiego is great!

Gotta Love Carman
This so far is my favorite game that I have to play in school. I haven't found carman yet but I'm working on it. Unfourtunaty, you LEARN something! But it also gives it a good excuse for someone to buy it for you. I definatly give 5 stars to this game. I also thank the creater for inventing the game.

This is a cool game.
This is a cool game. I had a tough time trying to beat it but I finally figured out how to catch Carmen Sandiago in the game. Here's how you catch her. Issue the warrant for the way she usually looks: Female, brown hair, tall, thin and wearing a hat. In Washington D.C click on the woman who is wearing an apron and then click "Stop theif! Your're under arrest!" If you issued the warant like I said you will beat the game and catch Carmen.

I recommend this game for kids and adults alike. I am 14 years old, and I play it with my 47 year old mom and 21 year old brother. I've been playing this game for years.

You learn interesting things about the states while trying to catch a crook without your battery going dead. When you catch certain crooks, you can get messages about Carmen for the last capture which of course is Carmen Sandiego herself.

I just recently bought this game for my seven-year-old soon to be eight-year-old son and he loved it! He didn't want to stop playing. I must admit though, that I had to sit and play it with him. At 7 or 8 years old a child's knowledge of cities and states isn't quite enough for this game. But, what was good about that is that child and parent can play together. Once you've got the game figured out and get your super sleuth hats on - it is lots of fun. Blend capitals with crime, and you've got the magic combination that makes geography cool. With its irreverent style, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? is definitely a winner for the junior-high set.

Each story begins with a dispatched message from the Chief. In her typical, no-nonsense style, she tells you what you need to know: what was stolen, whom to look for, and where you're being sent to catch the thief. Kids will love the real-time video of the Chief's updates, as well as the cartoon-character types they meet along the way. The immediate purpose is to build a profile of the criminal, but the larger object is to learn the history of your destination spots.

The Carmen series has nice touches: the Chief urges rookie investigators to learn a little bit of the language, because "It always helps you do better." Carmen Sandiego is up to her old tricks yet again. This time she's after all knowledge ever discovered by the human race. With a fleet of "knowbots" dispersed around the world and a six-pack of accomplished thieves to direct these insidious machines in their work, she is determined to give herself a monopoly on information. "Knowledge is power," Carmen says, and if ACME can't stop her, soon she will be the most powerful woman on earth.

As a new agent of ACME, you try to trap the knowbots and destroy them by correctly answering a series of questions on topics ranging from art history to math. The quizzes come in a variety of formats, and most are timed, making it essential to answer as quickly as possible. You may team up or compete with other players as you try to destroy the knowbots. Doing so allows you to collect clues that lead to Carmen's minions and, ultimately, to the arch-villain herself!

As with most quiz-format games, some aspects of play in ThinkQuick soon become repetitive. The game's verbal instructions, though they are intended as comprehension skill builders, are sometimes on the vague side. Despite these minor flaws, ThinkQuick is flexible and combines a nice range of games and puzzles. In addition to permitting multiple players, it also offers online play. Player avatars come in both genders and have adjustable skin tones.

Carmen Sandiego's ThinkQuick Challenge is a well-rounded educational game, challenging players' problem solving, reading comprehension, and general knowledge (among other abilities) while offering plenty of entertainment besides. Boring
This game is kinda cool when you first start playing it, but then it gets preety dull. All you do is answer questions to defeat robots(which never go away). So, I strongly encourage you not to by this game.

Doesn't teach, just quizzes the child.
I was disappointed in this software. Other Carmen Sandiego programs at least make an attempt to teach but this one simply bombards the child (aka "player") with multiple choice questions. My daughter is eight and relatively bright, but we're not very happy with this product.

Carmen Sandiego strikes world knowleg after MUCH change!
In the educational new Carmen Sandiego themed game, Carmen and her new specially trained master thieves--armed with robots who have the power to steal knowlege--are after such concepts as ABC order, technolegy, and solar-power enegery.

Chase Devineaqux, new head of ACME, is recconizing your super smarts and sending you on a mission to recover the stolen knowlege. To do so, you must catch the knowlege robots, prove your knowlege, gain a hideout code, solve a VILE puzzle to enter the hideout, and bust the thief.

A bit easy once you get the hang of it, but it can be challenging at some points. The catching of the Know Bots (either by tagging them or zapping them) can be more of a arcade type thing, but once the knowlege part kicks in, you have to be smart to succeed.

What suprised me most, though, was that they changed really changed the way the game is compared to the Where in the World and USA games. For one, in the Where in the World and Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego games, you never really see ACME, and in this game, when you do see it, it doesn't seem that real. Second, what happened to The Chief? Why isn't she heading ACME any more? Third, there are only six thieves working for Carmen now. Before there were thousands. Fourth, there's no getting lost and then trying despertly to get back on the trail of the thief. The old way is half of the fun. (The changes are what caused me to give it three stars instead of five.)

In short, a wonderful game, but if you're a loyal agent of ACME, this is somewhat depressing.

Muti-player!
I thought the game for one person was pretty boring easy to solve for me. But when you get together with a max of 4 people it's awesome! Racing to hit the buzzer and get the most points, even trying to get the least amount of wrong questions, made the game pretty exciting. I recomend this game highly as a muti-player game.

Good, but not as good as the old ones
Ok, I love Carmen Sandiego. I know many others do as well. So *why* did you change her! Whats with the cat-suit? Gimme back my normal Carmen!

Oh well. If your a loyal Carmen fan, then this game may take some getting use too. Its an awesome game, but the older ones (Before The Learning Company bought out) were better. :) ... Read more

This is a pretty cool game
I like this game I have had it for a while. I stopped playingit but every once in a while I'll go back and play it, it's prettyadictive once you first play it and then after a while it gets old and then you go back and play it and you get addicted to it again. I like the people on how they are all different. The animation is great.The places you go is cool and it's just a neat game. It's very educational too .I recommend it for children 13 and under.

USA all the way!
I received this product as a birthday present. I was really excited to try it, and so I did. Wow! This game is a blast! It is really fun! It teaches you about the USA. It also teaches you about being a detective and solving riddles. It also teaches you about spending your time wisely because as you travel around the USA, you use up fuel for your airplane. You're a detective and you're assigned a mission by the Chief (from the TV show). Something valuable has been stolen by one of Carmen Sandiego's crooks! You are the only person who can stop that crook. But the more cases you solve, the harder they get! Buy this product! Good luck, Gumshoe!

Really interesting and educational!
I received this product as a birthday present. And I was veryexcited when I got it. I tried it right away. It was so fun! I thinkyou should buy it right away! It was very educational and challenging. This is more about what you do (I'll try not to give it all away). So, you are a detective. The Chief (like on the TV show) assigns a mission. Some person who works for Carmen Sandiego has stolen something and you are trying to catch the crook! You "fly" to the place where the thing was stolen and people pass by. You can click on them to ask questions about the crook. As you go along, you record some of the information about what the crook looks like and fill out a "warrant." You also ask the people about where the crook went and track the crook down. You can learn a lot about the United States from the clues that the people give you (like I did). You keep tracking the crook until you get to the place where the crook is. It's hard, too, because you lose fuel every time you fly to a place tracking the crook. When you are there, you look at the info you collected about what the crook looks like, and you try to catch them. The whole game is fun! You should buy it! ... Read more
