Way too difficult for children
While the original Rayman game is great, I was very dissapointed in this version. The game is supposed to be geared for children ages 6-7, but it takes a near expert to even get through the levels. Lots of learning fun
My son started playing this game when he turned three. He loved it then, and still loves playing it at age four. I should say, however, that I believe the optimum age for this game to be between 2-4 years. Handily, there are different level settings, so children who are more advanced or less advanced in activities can still enjoy the fun. For example, my son does well in mathematics and reading, so the library and the play store are high level activities. On the other hand, hearing sounds and repeating them (the triangle goes 'ting', so you must then hit the triangle) is harder for him, so we use the easiest setting for the music store.

He has spent up to two hours playing in just the present store, picking out presents for friends within the money limit allowed. He loves choosing the wrapping paper and matching bows, as well.

As the game features many different activities (reading, mathematics, sound repetition, vocabulary, shape-sorting), it is a win for parents interested in educating their children in a fun way. I'm planning on purchasing it for my nephew, as well, and if I had more relatives with children, they'd be getting it for Christmas, too.

The main down side would be Joe, as compared to the beloved Steve, but he plays a very minor role, and is only seen when the child is switching between activity centers (library, grocery store, music store, bakery, present store). The other would be the lack of actual reading in the library. As my son can read, it would be more fun on the highest level if he could sort the books according to title, instead of just with the beginning letter. However, he still has a lot of fun with it, and the mathematics in the present store are great.

Pass, unless you really love shelves.
This Blue's Clues game looks like it was rushed through development. With the show's old host Steve gone, they now have to quickly replace Blue's old computer games so that the new host, Joe, is in them. Most of the simplistic activities have a recurring theme: taking and putting things off and on shelves. Here's a list of what to expect:

Activity 1: Go to the bakery and pick items off shelves.

Activity 2: Go to the library and put books where they're supposed to go, by matching the book with the letter on the shelf.

Activity 3: Go to the Toy Store and help customers buy presents by picking from a shelf full of items.

Activity 4: Go to the grocery store, and help Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper select groceries by taking food items off of ... you guessed it, shelves.

The only activity that is different, is a mediocre music activity, where you match what Purple Kangaroo does. Eh.

Sounds pretty exciting, doesn't it! Well, not really. The only reason this game will sell like crazy is because it has Blue in it. If it wasn't for that, no one would pay attention to it. The activities are simplistic and rapidly become boring due to the recurring and unimaginitive "shelf" theme. Worse, the program doesn't really explain anything to your child. It just jumps right in and says "Match the letter on the book, to the letter on the shelf." Your child may likely ask, "What's a letter?"

The show is good, but this game isn't. Pass, unless you really love shelves.

It was ok
I played with my almost four year old nephew with this and I found it very hard for him to follow. First of all, was he supposed to know when to click? I could hardly tell when the arrows were slighted changed.

Good, but not great
We've had this disc since my son was 3. Other reviewers have expressed the thought that the game is more suitable for toddlers. I don't entirely agree, particularly given that there are three distinct levels for each task.

The Grocery Store - level 1 directs children to put specific items in the basket. Higher levels direct children to items based on their relative position (e.g. the item below, or to the right of, bananas).

The Music Store - I admit that I find this one tiresome. The player repeats a pattern of beats on a variety of instruments. Each level increases the number of beats and instruments used.

The Bakery - Children choose items that are specific shapes. Level 1 uses only the most common shapes. Level 2 introduces lesser known shapes, like the crescent. Level 3 has the child look for objects that combine shapes - the task may be to find an item containing 1 circle, 1 triangle and 2 rectangles, which the child will find arranged as a cookie shaped like a little girl.

The Present Store - Here the child is asked to find one item that cost a specific number of "blue dollars". The number of dollars is displayed on the gift table and each item's price is displayed beneath it. The child places the item on the table and then counts out the appropriate number of dollars. In the higher levels, the child is given an amount, but they must find a combination of 2 or more objects that equal that total (probably the most complex activity in the game).

The Library - ok, I can't defend this one. It is ridiculously easy on any level.

All in all, it's not a bad game. It does move a little slowly and you do have to adjust the difficulty of each activity to the appropriate level for your child, but holds appeal for kids a variety of ages and gives them a chance to play with a favorite character. ... Read more

Disney's Tigger's Activity Center is an electronic version of gameschildren in the 4- to 8-year age bracket once played with pencils and paper. InSpot the Dots, for example, users click on numbered dots to reveal the outlineof a picture. In Bushels of Fun, they sort various vegetables into labeledbaskets for Rabbit. Travels with Tigger is essentially a board game, one whichlets one or two players race Tigger and Pooh around the Wood, encountering otherPooh characters along the way.

Of the entertainments offered, Tigger's Turtle Hurdles is the most challengingand replay-friendly. An exercise in logic, it challenges users to work out apreset pattern of colored turtles. If you can deduce the pattern correctly basedon the clues provided, you can build a bridge of turtles for Tigger to bounceacross, getting him safely over the river where his friends are waiting. Spotthe Dots is also surprisingly appealing, as it proceeds from simplechallenges--connecting 10 spots into an easily recognized shape, like a ball--to morecomplex images. Another nice twist is that several mystery pictures appear oneach virtual canvas, eventually forming a larger whole.

In contrast, Activity Center's musical game, Tiggerific Tunes, isinflexible, hard to play, and acoustically uninteresting--a much weaker offeringthan those found in comparable games, while Bushels of Fun is somewhatrepetitive. Travels with Tigger makes a good activity for two players, but mayrun too slowly to keep a single user interested.

In other words, Tigger's Activity Center is something of a mixed bag. Thegame does offer bright and bouncy enjoyment for smaller children, but parentsconsidering a purchase may wish to consider whether the better of its fivegames--in combination with Tigger's irresistible personality--are the ones mostlikely to appeal to their children. Loads of fun!
I find it difficult, but my kindergarten son really enjoys it.

Adorable
I give this 4 stars because at times it is too hard for the suggested age group. Also, I had to reset my graphics accelerator according to Disney's Customer Support page which no child should be doing. I needed the hints to start level 4 and found the cave to get the "missing" honey pots. I liked the game enough to keep trying to find out why it wouldn't play and was not disappointed with the end results. Sadly, I am an adult learning to play computer games.

Frustrating
I bought Tigger's Honey Hunt for my five-year-old son. I was quite disappointed in the game. The main part of the game, the Honey Hunt, really can't be classified as an adventure game (at least at the level at which we have been able to play it). There is no reasoning and no learning going on here. You bounce Tigger around a landscape and catch floating honey pots. I'll admit, the landscape animation and the way Tigger bounces are pretty cool (thus the two star rating). But it is quite frustrating to get to the end of a round and have Owl tell you that you did not collect enough honey pots, even though you thought you got them all!

The Mini Games are simultaneously too hard and too easy. The interface to them requires that you consult the manual, which I think is asking a bit much of a five-year-old. (Left is the X key, Down is C, Enter is F, etc. !?!) The games are designed to accommodate multiple players using only a keyboard, but I don't think most people would use these as multi-player games anyway. Once you figure out which keys to use, the games are too simplistic to be interesting. And even using the correct keys, it sometimes seems that the game does not respond to your keystrokes when it should. And it seems to have no mouse interface!

The animation is cool, but overall, a big disappointment.

Compatablity nightmare
Being in the computer business, it is very seldom I can't something to run. Well this is one program I warn you to stay away from. After spending 2 hours, I went to the Disney website and found out, it has problems with many 3d graphics card. Read this carefully, if you have a Savage card this product does not work, if you have a SIS (most Compaq's) it does not work. I have 5 computers in my home and this worked on one. In addition the one computer that the graphics will work on, the game freezes. If we would have kept the box I would have returned this product for sure. We have purchased most of the Fisher Price games and we also have allot of Disney and this one is not worth the money.

Tigger's honey hunt
I highly recomend this game. My son is 5 months old and he loves Tigger and the graphics of this game. We don't own the game but, my best friend does and I sat with my son in front of her computer and played the game with him. I have never seen him so excited about anything before except for food. Barbie as Rapunzel??
Well, I was skeptical at first, but my daughter is in LOVE with anything that is Barbie so I bought the DVD and the vid game... She watches the movie about 4 times a week, but the game is played pretty much as long as the computer is on!

So... Long story short, the game is rather 'old school' in game play and graphics, but very simple colourful for children... It's a fantastic game with puzzles and dialog that any Barbie fan will love.

Lots of Fun, but Learning at all Time Low
I have to say that this is an excellent product if you just want your kids to kick back and some fun after a mountain of homework, but if you're trying to inspire your children and teach them something with software, this is a major mistake. The basic concept is based on the Grimm's fairy tale Rapunzel and has some out of line parts thrown in. (Like Rapunzel traveling through the city in search of her prince, for example.) Of course, there are all sorts of games along the way, most of which are eye/hand or memory skill games. While some games encourage creativity, others, such as the dress maker's shop and the bakery prohibit it. You can only make dresses one color and only make cakes according to a pattern. That was a mistake on Mattel's part, if you ask me.

Rapunzel also turns into a sort of digital paper doll when led to the attic. There she tries on beautiful gowns, jewelry and other accessories all at the child's descretion. That is, by far, the best of the games.

I think this is a great product and will be very much enjoyed as long as the child is 8 or younger since they'll have the most fun with it. It's clean, wholesome entertainment for a few hours of the day without the gory violence of mind-numbing hours in front of a palystation.
