5-0 out of 5 stars Great Software for Preschoolers
I purchased the Fisher Price Garage software for my 4 year old grandson. I was leery of buying it since I had previously purchased some poorly designed and frustrating software for preschoolers. I am happy to say I am very impressed with this one. One of the things I like the most about it is it's perfect for his age and his present computer skills. The visual and verbal instructions are very straighforward--he has had no trouble understanding what to do. Since he cannot read yet, he only needed a little help the first few times using it.

There are activities for children with different levels of computer skills. (I would say a 3 year old could do some of the activities.) Some of the features he could do all by himself the first time which made him feel competent (and made me happy because I didn't have to listen to whining). The Diesel's Palace maze (similar to a Pac-man game) is more of a challenge for him. It is great to have a racing game that a preschooler can do too--I think it is just right for a 4 year old--challenging and fun, but not so hard he never wins. The car detailing feature is also impressive--quite a few vehicle choices and many, many stickers to "jazz things up". Loads of fun for preschool boys or girls.

Overall, I am very happy with this software and my grandson just loves it--he is learning more computer skills, has a lot of laughs, and just plain fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for introducing the computer to preschoolers!
I picked this up on a lark, not knowing that my three-year-old would take over the computer! He LOVES this software so much that he wants to play with it first thing in the morning--and all day if it were possible. It is perfect for teaching preschoolers how to use a mouse. The activities are simple and loads of fun. I've tried other software packages designated for preschoolers, but they were too complicated to hold my son's attention. His favorite part is spray-painting the car and printing out the picture. Now our house is plastered with these "works of art!" The great thing is that he's learning to use the computer while being challenged and entertained.

5-0 out of 5 stars From the Mom of a car crazy kid!!
Tommy Treads is a friendly little car who captivated my 3 year old and still has his attention 1-1/2 years later. Children can use their problem solving skills, race at the track, paint and detail in the body shop, give a tune-up and much, much more with this fun and creative software. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Pit Droids poses the age-old math question: "If a droid traveling five miles per hour leaves Mos Espa at dawn, how long will it take to get to the Arena Gate?" Watto, Tatooine's notorious junk dealer, has purchased a large pit-droids shipment to help with the pod races. Naturally, the droids don't know the way, leaving you to direct the capering mechanoids to their goals by placing various arrows in their path.

Right from the slick panoramic interface, Pit Droids is a blast. C-3PO's thorough tutorials (featuring the inimitable Anthony Daniels) and R2-D2's chirpy in-game help will have you herding the hordes of droids in no time. Not only do you need to avoid collisions, you need to change droids' attributes, sort them, and adjust the timing of their patterns. While holding your attention with the frenetic puzzle-solving fun, Pit Droids quietly refines your logical-thinking and problem-solving skills, making it a great game for older children as well as adults.

Pit Droids rewards progress with comic short films of the clowning droids in action. Eight locations offer more than 300 puzzles spanning three levels of difficulty, and the Puzzle Editor lets you build your own devices. It's enough to keep you interested for as long as the droids keep you scrambling. --Jack Gardiner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun Game!!
Almost endless amount of pre-created puzzle But then! You can creat your own! Loads of fun!

1-0 out of 5 stars This is not good
YO people, dont waste money on this. Trust me! It is boring. i mean, it takes forever to just beat one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Challenging, Graphic, and Limitless
Star Wars Pit Droids is not exclusively for Star Wars fans, and is an excellent puzzle game if you want one. It has three levels of play for all people. The goal is to use the arrows provided to literally point the different pit droids in the right direction. However, they have different colors, helmets, and tools, so you have to guide each type to their destintation. It's 3-D and has pretty good graphics. There's an online exchange for puzzles that you make, which has some EXTREMELY difficult puzzles, much harder than the game provides. Making a game in this is pretty easy, but picky. It doesn't agree with the standard Microsoft interface, and forces you to use buttons for cut-and-paste. The major downside to this game is that you can only save after completing a level, not during one. Overall, I suggest this for people who want to be challenged or to challenge others.

4-0 out of 5 stars This is hard, escpecially Hard Mode, but fun
This game is fun.You work on many puzzles to get your pit droids to the Podrace Arena.I won a T-shirt for a 13 year olds contest on this game,I had to get 144 pit droids to the Podrace Arena before too many other opponents did the same.I would recommend this game to any one who isn't too (not smart) as I wouldn't want to insult you readers! And also,if you want a cool pit droids T-Shirt,you can buy it now and practice until sometime in Year 2001.Then you can sign up for a totally cool contest!

4-0 out of 5 stars The "H-bomb" since Droidworks!
Pit Droids is the #1 maze/puzzle game! If you're a big fan of Star Wars or strategy, you should definitally buy this game! What I specifically like about Pit Droids is the great 3-D graphics, the challenge of the puzzles, and the hilarious slapstick "reward" cutscenes! But sometimes you may go crazy when you get to a frustrating part in a level, but don't worry about that little comment. Yep, it's another one of those Lucasarts/Learning masterpieces that quite often happen. I betcha when you pop this CD in your PC, you're going to think, "I didn't waste a dime on this thing!" ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
We have three of the Scooby Doo Case File Games.
My four year old loves these games. He will play it for a long time. There is problem solving and mazes and other activities in each game.

My problem with this game (and the other Scooby Games) is that there is no variability. Once your child solves the game and plays it again, the puzzles are essentially the same. The clues might change and the villian might be different, but the puzzles are the same and the clues are in the same places.

This is not a problem for my kids though. They both enjoy the game and play it for many hours.

Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun but...
I would rate this a middle of the road four or at the very least a high three.

First the positive- the scooby gang are in a museum and a green glowing bug man has messed up the displays. They have to put the displays back together in order to earn clues. The clues point to a villian. Each of the 'games' or displays involves a different part of the brain- in one scooby has to jump on a conveyer belt to earn scooby snacks and collect bones, another is a puzzle, another is a matching game and so on. There are three different levels so you can have it fairly easy to fairly difficult. My five year old was able to play the easy with no help and the medium level with only a little bit of help.

The Negatives- The games are the same. The villians change but the games are the same- you are always doing a puzzle in the dinosaur room and it's always the same puzzle. The placement of the boxes in the puzzle might change but the idea is the same. I would have also liked to have seen the ability to change the levels of the puzzle as individual games, not the whole game.

However, it's a fun game.
I would also suggest the Freddy Fish games if your child likes to solve mysteries.

Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Close, but not the best.
If any of you have expierienced past Scooby Doo games of this style, then you will understand this. In comparison, the voice acting in this is sub-par. The vocal animations are so generic that every word they speak looks just like the last. The load times between screens is a lot longer in this one than in past games. However, the puzzles are clever, and the background animations and layouts are very colorful and creative. Dropping you in many foreign locales. A good representation, and learning tool, of different cultures. My 5 year old enjoys this. But, myself, as a Scooby Doo fan, did not think that much of it. It was a bit shorter than previous games as well. Good game. Just not great. Hope the next volume shows more promise.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Scooby fun!
My 8 year old loves this new Scooby game. She will play it over and over. The facts on China are cool and the animation is just like the TV show.

I highly recommend this Scooby game. We like them all but this one is definitely a favorite!

5-0 out of 5 stars Jessica & Hannah's Review
Jessica our 9 year old daugher said "this game is great, in one room you visit the cafeteria and you are challenged to blend different flavors of ice-cream until Shaggy gets the perfect cone. In each room you visit you need to find the clues to match the suspect until you find the glowing bugman". 4-0 out of 5 stars Would have been great if it had more than humor
The biggest thing that Armed and Dangerous has going for it is its wacky sense of humor. That and its story. Everything else is kind of average.

You play as Roman, the leader of a group of bandits called "The Lionhearts", out to dethrone an evil tyrant king. The game alternates between missions and funny but ugly cutscenes that tell the game's story. Unfortunately, the missions are hardly integrated into the story. It's like the missions were created in a vacuum and then just thrown in after the storyline was written. For instance, you will play a mission where you have to save a bunch of villagers from the evil king out in the middle of nowhere, even though the previous cutscene mentioned nothing like this. Towards the end of the game when you are saving a group of villagers for the 10th time, it starts to get repetitive.

Repetitiveness ends up being the game's biggest problem. Half of the areas all look the same. There is a low variety of enemies and a very low variety of mission objectives. The missions are all "save the villagers" or "Blow up 5 buildings". There's also the occasional turret shooter mission. The variety of weapons that you get is pretty low, and so are the variety of enemies that you fight. If the developers had put as much effort into designing the missions as they did into the humor, then this would have been one of the best games of the past few years.

The game is the funniest since Anachronox. The humor is integrated into every aspect of the game. Even the manual is funny to read. The sound bites during firefights can make you chuckle. The enemies have this amusing "throw your arms above the air and run around and scream" routine that they go through when you stick a grenade to them, or when you use your topsy-turvy bomb to flip the world upside-down. The topsy-turvy bomb is one of the examples of the kooky weapons in the game. Armed and Dangerous feels like a 10-hour long episode of "Monty Python's Flying Circus".

So in the end, it's the humor that makes the game worth playing, but not a lot besides it. I'll give the game a good rating, but if the developers had put as much effort into designing some good shooter levels as they did into the game's funny parts, then it could have been Game of the Year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super fun shooter game.
This game had me hooked as soon as I saw it. It is not your standard shoot the terrorists Nazi bad guy let's be realistic as possible FPS. This has lots of fun stuff thrown in, like the topsy-turvey bomb. FUN STUFF!

4-0 out of 5 stars A nice change from the same ol' shooter...
As soon as I read about the Topsy Turvy gun, I knew I had to try this game. I have not been disappointed at all.
For those of you who are tired of all of the WWII games or any game with the same old selection of weapons, you need to try this game. It will spring new life into your love of shooters.
Just the Sticky Bombs alone had me hooked in the first 2 minutes.
The humor is excellent. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the lack of multiplayer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fast, hilarious and worthwhile game for your collection!!!
I read a few gamer magazine reviews about this title. They claimed it was great to play and had gut busting moments. IT WAS ALL TRUE!

Warning - this game would be good for kids....HOWEVER the jokes and comments are very adult. This game is a shooter....but the violence is mild and made funny, not gory. I would say it is ok for 12 yrs old and up.

Want an example of FUNNY? One of your weapons is a Shark gun. Yes, you shoot it at an enemy, yet all you see is a shark fin swimming on top of the ground. Suddenly, a Great White shark lunges up from underneath the enemy, bites into him and shakes him around like a rag doll before disappearing into the dirt again...THEN IT PATROLS FOR MORE ENEMIES!!!! It can easily wipe out a gang that has you pinned! Best of all, it never gets old. I could watch it again and again and again!!!

Excellent job LucasArts.
The cutscenes are a must see. Do not skip anything, even the opening credits and titles for the game. Some are cute, some are funny and some will have you laughing out loud. True example - I was playing this game at 2am. One of the cutscenes made me burst out laughing. My girlfriend was asleep and did not enjoy being woken up to see me having a great time...lol

Basically, you are part of a crew of rogue-ish Scotsmen roaming the country side for The Book of Rule. You have a blind old Jewish man, a Mole and a robot Roman soldier as sidekicks. Comments while you play and shoot bad guys are made by your side kicks. Example - The Mole cries out in a thick Scottish accent, "Did you hear the one about Miners? Miners do it in the dark!" I have bad guys crawling all over me and I start laughing so hard they killed me quickly becasue I could not react!

Use a rocket to knock off a guy up on a cliff edge and watch and laugh as the vistim cries out something like, "Avenge my death!" and his body flies through the air and lands right near you with a hard smack. Down right funny.

My only gripe about this game - the cut scene graphics are a very low quality. I think the animation and character designs could have been better. Look at their arms...they look very puppet-ish and silly. The video itself is low quality and at times, hard to make out the details. I am really disappointed at LucasArts for that.

No other complaints, the game is awesome fun....play it the first time without the music on so you can hear all the funny screams, comments, etc. Play the game again WITH the music on..the music really adds to the game!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Funny
Crazy weapons. Good looking graphics. Wicked sense of humor. Shooting sheep, turning the world upside down and launching landsharks! Great fun!! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Software is fine, Company quality is the question
I had purchased this item and found out later that one of the three cd-roms was bad. The company ran me around in circle for weeks try this and try that. I found the one file on the cd-rom was bad. They now wanted more than what I had paid for it to exchange the cd-rom. Long story short, I finnally got a new cd-rom for the free. Just check out their product carefully and save your receipts and packaging so that it can be returned if you have a problem.

My kids love the games, but were a little upset by having to wait almost three months for Pajama Sam.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent software at a great price
This is another great Humongous software collection. Each of the titles has sold individually for the price of this set. My children (3 & 7)love the games. The titles offer fun for my kids with the benefit of helping them develop critical thinking and computer user skills. You will not be disappointed in this collection. They will be entertained for hours playing with Freddi, Sam and PuttPutt. You will probably have to pry them off the family computer just so you can use it!

Amazon.com Review

Only on a Disney-designed racetrack would collecting Lucky Fairies and launching acorns lead players to the trophy. This whimsical, Windows-only racing game is set in Disney World, where Chip n' Dale manage to drop some of those darned acorns into the Fireworks Machine, causing it to explode and scatter bits of itself all over the park. The two decide to race around the park to find the machine parts before night falls and the fireworks show must begin. Every track represents an attraction at Disney World, and winning on each track allows players to advance and yields an all-important Fireworks Machine part for the rebuilding project.

Single players or duos may play this game, choosing to race as one of 13 characters. The only recognizable ones are from Disney's B-team: Chip, Dale, and Jiminy Cricket. The rest appear to be created for this game: Tiara Damage, Moe Whiplash, and Baron Karlott are cleverly named, but we wonder why Disney decided not to put Mickey, or at least Pumbaa, in some of these vehicles. A gamepad is optional, but is a nice alternative to the keyboard operation, which requires players to use directional arrows while simultaneously pressing numbers for gas, brakes, power-ups, jumps, and slides.

The 13 racetracks, which range from the Haunted Mansion to the Rock 'n Roller Coaster, are chock full of Disneyesque hazards and humor: hitchhiking ghosts, farm animals chewing explosives, roaming dinosaurs. Anyone who's been to Disney World will love revisiting the attractions in their new racetrack format: racing on this CD-ROM's Tomorrowland Speedway is an ironic joyride for anyone who putted along at 2 mph on the original, actual Tomorrowland Speedway.

Thisgood-natured racing game is gentle and entertaining enough for younger kids, and experienced speedsters will appreciate it as well, since the only way to progress is to win first place on each track. Disney'sgrit-and-grease-free racing style might just be a bit too tame for the true gearheads: it just doesn't feel manly to lob Teacup Mines at one's opponents. 2-0 out of 5 stars Too hard to steer!
If you don't have a steering wheel attached to your computer you might want to think twice about getting this game. It is way too hard to steer it. I've played any number of driving games in the past and have never had any trouble steering with the keyboard... but this game is just poorly set up. The controls are not even remotely intuitive. I was hoping that I could get my 6 year old playing this game before we went to DisneyWorld... didn't happen.

Then there's the problem with getting the game started. My kid is normally a genius with computer games and doesn't need any help at all. But this game takes about 20 different keyboard entries to get started... and I swear, you never hit the same key twice. And don't get me started on how difficult it is to exit the game. Seriously, how hard could it be? Some menus you have to hit the escape to get out of, some you need to hit the back, others you need to hit the letter "n", others you need to wait for some silly animation to play, then hit the down arrow and then enter... I'm sure it was easier to program the game than it is to play it.

Now, finally, the driving courses... They're OK, I guess. I wasn't too impressed. It appears to be rendered using some older technology, so there are a lot of visual anomolies and 3-D items that become 2-D or disappear then reappear in a jarring fashion. The courses only vaguely resemble the rides they purport to represent.

Overall, the idea is good, but I'd recommend waiting until the next version comes out. This one simply isn't worth the money or trouble.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE WALT DISNEY WORLD
Ever since i was young i always dreamed of going to Walt Disney World, but no that i live in florida i go there every chance i get!But the days i cant go i just play this game, its like being on the rides themselves! Not to easy for you to beat in a day,but not to hard for younger players! Its really a game for all ages!I LOVE Walt Disney World!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Must For WDW Fans!
As far as the game itself, it is great, especially with the attention to detail in the parks. It's wonderful to race in such familiar places! It's also great for children - no violence.

It's easy to race, yet has some challenging pieces as well. Certainly worth the price.

My only complaints are that the vast majority of the characters are not at all familiar. Exiting the game is difficult, since it was obviously made for console players first, where you can simply remove the disk or restart (not so easy on PC).

4-0 out of 5 stars Lotta Fun
This game is a must have for fans of the theme parks! It is suprising how many park memories you can 'relive' with this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game deserves ten thumbs! ( if you have ten thumbs that
Ok ok I can't really say I've had the pleasure of buying this game (frankly I think it's a bit over priced ) but I can say I've purchased Knowledge Adventure's previous merchandise before it has always had complete satifactory. I've bought a few of there items in the past and they were very educational and benifitial .Knowledge Adventure trys to make there software educational and fun . That's what's important right? You wanna teach your children and help them to learn yet try to catch there attention with something at a children's level. This spy idea sure did catch MY attention ! I think it's one of the best ways to teach children instead of forcing facts in to there heads with telvision shows all the time and work books. In conclusion I'd like to say this item sounds like a good way of teaching your children langauge , math facts and so on . Go ahead and buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game.
This game is truely a fun game. You get to save the city as a firefighter, police man, and a paramedic. So try to rent it some where before you buy it. It's a very hard game. I recommend it for children 8 and up. But it's up to you parents. So go and play it. Have fun. You will Love. Play it or else. Go and get it NOW! Thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous!
My 3 year old son loves this game! The game isn't structured in a "story" type format, so he doesn't have to really do anything but drive if that's all he's int he mood for. He loves the motorcycle, and he's very much into playing police/fireman games right now, so it's perfect. Graphics are nicely done, not knock-your-socks-off great, but nicely done. Perfect for kids because like I said, there isn't a set way that you have to play it or it shuts off. Also, he uses the keyboard to control the game, which is much easier for hands that aren't big enough to get to all the buttons on a controller.
From my side, the sound effects are a little bit too much-sirens and such, but the volume can be turned down, so that's not a huge deal. There's no killing/guns/enemies-nice and non-violent. And it keeps his attention very well- I have to drag him off the computer!

A very good purchase.

4-0 out of 5 stars great entertainment
My five year old is crazy about this program. And, it's not violent, and he can operate it on his own.

1-0 out of 5 stars Skip This One!....
This game suffers from many issues including: poor controls (esp for kids - the target audience), limited story line, and horrible programming (some of the audio files have audible distortion). The only redeeming quality is the ability to drive under water! I am far more pleased with the Matchbox/Caterpillar series.

5-0 out of 5 stars I like this item
This item is really cool. I really like it, I like this item so much I am going to name my pet lizard after it.(just kidding) It is a good game for kids because it teaches them to be the good guys. Unlike other games where it is the idea to be the bad guy and kill people. This game teaches you to conserve the peace. But at the same time you are involved in high speed chases and put out fires. This game is more like a 10. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Even teens like it !
This game is very entertaing though the age on it is wrong. I am 12 years old and I still play this game I can't make it pass Trash The Camp level the other levels are plenty simple.I know after I get pass that level comes the maze too the boat .Anyway in my headliner it saids Even Teens Like It .I wasn't lieing it is a great disney game if only I knew a sercet way out of the campsite ,but unfouantley there is not a way even if I tried I'll never get past the plate throwin monkey on top of the tent...

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining adaption of a modern Disney classic
For some odd reason I had a compelling need to play this game after I saw several reviews and trailers online. So I tracked it down and paid more than $... by far, but I certainly got my enjoyment from it. The graphics looked great on my computer, and the video quality of the clips between levels looked as good as a DVD version. The skill level could be changed from easy to hard, and additional challenges were sometimes added the harder the level of difficulty.

The music was almost an exact duplicate of the Tarzan soundtrack, featuring instrumental versions of the songs "Trashing the Camp," "Son of Man" and others. The graphics were amazing, especially the backgrounds and waterfall effects. Some dexterity is needed, but younger children should be able to play this game with some help setting up. I used a computer game pad with joystick and it was very easy to control Tarzan/Terk/Jane. There are bonus levels and cutscenes to collect, and the game has definite replay value, especially if your kids love Tarzan. I still haven't managed to beat it on the Hard level yet, so there are hours of gaming pleasure ahead. And at less than $... it makes a perfect gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tarzan Game
I found this game very entertaining and very easy to control seeing as it is a 3-D graphic game.

The levels get harder (obviously) but the good thing is you can go over the levels you have already done to see if you can achieve a higher percentage of coins collected and level completed.

The characters are very entertaining and you get help along the way which gives you helpful tips.

Another bonus is that you meet butterflies along the way which save the game from that spot so if you die further on you begin again at the point of the butterfly and not at the beginning of the level. You can also save the game as you go along.

Hope you enjoy it as much as me (30 years old) and my daugther (11 years old) do, its great fun and well worth the money!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT
I thought Tarzan was going to be the best game in the world, but actually it's a BIG WASTE OF MONEY. When you can't pass a level, it get's boring. Two words. BORING GAME.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Graphics and Gameplay
Wow! I wasn't expecting much from a Disney game, but Tarzan has a lot going for itself. First of all, the graphics are excellent. The fluid animations and the eye-popping backgrounds make this game something to own right away. But the game play is also good. The controls are easy to learn and the game, while challenging, isn't too difficult for younger children. This game should be in your collection! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good for what it is.
VeggieTales: The Mystery of Veggie Island is a good but not great game. I wish the ratings alowed for 3.5 stars, but it's closer to a three than a four. The pros include (1) the characters themselves from the shows and movies, (2) a good exploration/adventure story based game where you hunt for clues to solve a mystery, and (3) kids unlock bonus Silly Songs by beating different levels.

The bad is this: once your child beats this game (1-2 hours of play - tops), there is zero replay value. Unlike Freddie Fish and other childrens' puzzle/mystery titles which vary the clue location and order of play, this game plays the exact same way each and every time. I really like the Veggie Tales concept, and my kids enjoyed the 90 minutes it took them to beat this game, but they've never touched it since they tried to play it again and realized it's the exact same game with all of the clues in the exact same place. It becomes a mystery game with no mystery.

4-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT Game
My 5 year old son loved this games so much he couldn't stop playing it. It only took him 2 days to finish it though so it is short. But it hasn't stopped him from playing it again and again. The adventure is great as I've played it with him. You have to put some thought into finding things and where to go next. Excellent graphics as well.

2-0 out of 5 stars Way too short
I agree with everything the other reviewers have said about this game's good points, but it has one HUGE issue... this game is REALLY short. My 4-year-old son finished it in less than an hour on Christmas Day. That's it? He enjoyed it enough to play it over again several times, but I felt cheated. The pictures you see on the box are pretty much the entire game. I think there are less than 20 areas, some of which only take a couple of minutes to get through. As good as the game is, it hardly seems worth the money. I suggest going to the Big Idea website for some FREE Veggie Tales games instead. My son still spends more time on that website than on this game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Just For Kids
At first I thought wow! This sounds great! Being able to play a Veggie Tale computer game without eating up Internet hours would be a dream come true! But this is one of those products that teeter between a final rating of four stars or five stars and here's why.

It deserves a five star rating for the fact of it's all around quality and excellent visuals. Exhibiting detailed images that are outstanding and cute set-ups with good animation. Right from the start it will have you believing that you're about to watch another Veggie Tales video. Only here it's totally interactive and the player has to help Junior Asparagus earn his Cub-Sprout Badges and find Mr. Nezzer's lost treasure. Plus find the silly songs by clicking on certain objects throughout the game, sometimes even twice to find an extra hidden surprise of silliness. And if you read the Cub-Sprout handbook you'll find more tidbits of humor. The nifty activities and puzzles deal with memory and mostly eye to mouse (or on screen cursor) coordination. The Mysteries of Veggie Island keeps up with the Veggie reputation for positive, educational values in entertainment. Making it a wonderful game for your young 'Cub-Sprouts' to become familiar with the use of computers. And to top off the reason for a five star merit badge, is Big Idea's addition of a 'virtual egg timer' giving parents the option of directly monitoring the amount of time spent in game play.

Now for other side, what prevents a five star rating and warrants a four star instead. It's definitely a game tailored for the younger audience and is only mildly entertaining for grown-ups to some degree. The ten Silly Campfire Songs with Larry are adaptations of popular/familiar songs and might seem like something not to be missed, but don't get too excited. They're nothing like Larry's songs from the videos. Yes, they are funny but also extremely short and max out at around 30 seconds each. Plus it doesn't help when you can play the game over again, EXACTLY the same way as before. The games and puzzles have the right complexity and length for kids, but it's just all too easy for us 'big kids'.

For something new, The Mysteries of Veggie Island is an excellent choice for children, and for new beginnings from Big Idea, it shows great promise of what could come.

5-0 out of 5 stars A BEAUTIFUL Game
My 5 year old recieved this game for her birthday, and it is by far one of the most visually impressive games I've ever seen. The detail is amazing and there is tons of play potential. ... Read more

This is my sons first computer game and he asks to play it all the time. I showed him how to play each game and then he stayed busy for hours! I would reccomend this for ages four and above. I also have the Land before time preschool adventure but this one has funner games. Amazon.com Review

Games seem less susceptible to sophomore slump than movies or books. Quite often, when a game sequel comes out, it has everything you liked from the first game, and some more, too. Happily, LEGO Racers 2 is just such a sequel.

When the game begins, you get a chance to build your own car, and even build (and name) your own racer from "people" pieces. Building cars is fun without even playing the game. If you're not happy with a car you've built, or just want to build more, the main menu lets you build all the cars you want with a huge variety of virtual bricks.

Though at heart it's a racing game, LEGO Racers 2 offers more than just racing. A large solo adventure game lets you explore five worlds. The worlds represent some of LEGO's lines that you might already have bricks for, such as Life on Mars and Arctic Explorer. Each world has places to explore, with minigames to discover and power-ups that will improve your car's performance or smash the other cars in a race. And, of course, there's plenty of racing, even in the adventure game.

Once a world has been unlocked in the adventure game, you can access the world from the race menu. From there, you can race for time or against a friend in two-player mode. Two-player mode allows you and a friend to battle each other, racing around the worlds looking for power-ups to smash your opponent's car.

Adults and kids will have fun playing this game--together or separately, it doesn't matter. LEGO Racers 2 is varied enough to appeal to different kinds of game players, and fun enough to offer repeat-play value. This racing game definitely belongs in the winner's circle. 5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Game!
This game is great! it is also funny when you blow people up. Plus , it gives you driving skills. If you like cool, funny, and racing cds, this is the game for you!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
This game is ok, but the races in each world are really similar, so you really only get 5 tracks. It is challenging, though. I haven't beaten it yet, but that's partly because I play my other games more.

If you don't already have the first one, Lego Racers, I recommend getting that instead. I like it better. It has 17 exciting races that are very different from each other. The building mode is easier and has better pieces and cars. Also, to my surprise, I found that the grapics in LR2 are not as good as they are in the original.

One good thing about Lego Racers 2 is that it's partly just adventure--you can explore the world you're visiting. I was also surprised at how big they made each world. As you're exploring, sometimes an inhabitant will give you a clue to help you in your search for the precious golden bricks, which buy you your way to other worlds. There are also bonus missions, 1 on each world (2 if you count the hard and easy levels you need to complete). In each one, you do a certain task around the area. For example, in the first world, you drive people around to different places, kind of like taxi service. You have to serve a certain amount of people in a certain amount of time.

Overall, I like this game, but I can certainly live without it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect #2! Thank you Lego!
This game kept me playing all Christmas Day and for two days after; until my parents said "Aren't you going to play with any of your other gifts?!" I really liked the graphics! What a pleasant sequel to Lego Racers 1.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absorbing, addictive racing game
The first Lego racers is fantastic and like others I rushed out to get this expecting more of the same. In fact the game has a very different look and feel which makes it easy to conclude that it is not as good. To get the bad news out of the way: Lego Racers 2 is more demanding on hardware, somewhat harder to play, only supports one saved game, and lacks the some of the friendly-fun appeal of the first.

On the plus side though, this game is far more absorbing. The various locations are complete little worlds, with villages, inhabitants you can chat to, and exotic terrain that you get to know really well. In order to progress you have to beat certain characters, like Sam Sinister who deposits slippery oil behind his car: it seems impossible at first, but as you get to know the track you gradually get better.

It's a more sophisticated game all round. The idea of bricks coming off your car every time you crash, and replenished by the pit stops, is great and adds excitement. The landscape has lots of interest, such as drive-thru waterfalls, cliff-side roads you can fall off, ice mazes, volcanoes with molten lava, wobbly rope bridges, and ... well, you get the idea.

Looking for a first racing game for a kid? Lego Racers 1 is it. But for sustained, compelling interest, Racers 2 is light-years ahead.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
Wonderful game. The graphics are surprisingly good for a game involving legos. The speed of gameplay is moderate. The special part of this game is that you can actually blow up the other people's cars and make them run the end of the race. The unrelistic part though is that the lego people run 50 M.P.H.! If you want fun with out gore this is the game for you. ... Read more

Explore the world of Shrek the ogre in this activity-centered program, which lets players solve mazes, fill in crossword puzzles, and put together acomputerized version of an old-fashioned jigsaw puzzle. Shrek: Game LandActivity Center has seven entertainment options for young gamers, from asliding tile activity to a memory game played with a bird and xylophone.

The activities in Shrek: Game Land satisfy two separate age groups, andmight work best in a home with several young children, all working at differentgrade levels. Kids in preschool and kindergarten will enjoy image-oriented gameslike Sliding Tiles or Picture Mixer. They will also like Melody Match, amemorization exercise where players imitate the tunes whistled by a cheerfulbird. School-aged users, on the other hand, may prefer to stretch their readingskills with a crossword puzzle or word search. Then there's Splat!, an arcadegame that will please all users as they smash insects on Shrek's dinner tablewhile avoiding the slugs he is saving for dessert.

Each of the activities in this game is simple to master and, once learned, doesnot vary in the slightest. This brings the replayability of Shrek: GameLand down considerably. What's more, the game choices are clearly divided in scope: older children will find the picture games far too simple, while prereaders will be frustrated by the word challenges. The mix is an oddone and--when combined with the repetitive nature of the activitiesthemselves--makes the game an optimal choice only for hard-core Shreklovers. --Alyx Dellamonica ... Read more

This is a fun game that even my 4 year old plays! The bug squishing is her favorite! [Lots of laughs.] Cool game for everyone in the family!

4-0 out of 5 stars I Love the Bugs!!
I am 32 years young and I play this way more than my 5 year old daughter. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I
think they could have put in at least one more excellent game like "SPLAT" the bug game that I just cannot stop playing. What a challenge!!!! It is driving me crazy. Don't get me wrong the other games are good, just not as good as splat. Anyway, bottomline, if you loved the movie as much as we did, then this is a must have. P.S.-download the full version not the shortcut
that they recommend for most computers, it will be well worth the space!!!!

There's a race going on in Critterville, and Little Critter wants toparticipate. To do that he's going to have to put together a racer, but whatwill he use to make it? Mercer Mayer's Little Critter and the Great Raceis a nicely balanced combination--a first-person role-playing game sprinkledwith educational activities, with the race at the end serving as the icing onthe cake.

Children begin play by choosing between three different go-cart designs; oncethey have decided, the race is on to find all the parts they need to buildLittle Critter's racer. Roaming Critterville, they must help the various towncitizens with a variety of small troubles, earning goodwill and car componentsalong the way. Whether you are giving a squeak-toy to a bored junkyard dog orplaying tic-tac-toe against a ghost in the local haunted house, each completedchallenge brings you closer to a completed vehicle.

The six minigames tucked into Little Critter and the Great Race are allrelatively simple, and children in the 4-years-and-older age range should haveno trouble completing them to earn car components. Like mostrole-playing games, it also has a component that requires observation and closeattention--a variety of useful items are lying around all of the game scenes--aswell as the willingness to experiment with the items you have gathered already. An impatient player may be frustrated by the inability to just skip ahead to therace, but the earlier activities can be completed in a relatively short time, providing lots of fun. What's more, the fact that there are three racers, allwith different parks, means that Little Critter's driving ambitions can berealized in a variety of ways. This ensures that players can enjoy a number ofversions of the story, playing it out from the very beginning. No matter whatroute they take, they will still arrive on Race Hill at the end, revved up andready to test their driving acumen. (Ages 4 and older) --Alyx Dellamonica ... Read more
