It's a great tool
I've noticed a few others haven't liked this program. All I have to say is that I found it to be a usefull tool. I was completely blocked when I started looking for a job after three years. I had only a really old resume (somthing that was great for entry level..but not for someone who's been in the work force for awhile). This software allows you to keep your job search organized. I love the fact that you can customize each resume and letter. Heck I used this program to write my cover letters, thank you letters and my letter of resignation.

It won't do the work for you and like anything you get what you put into it. But I found this one to be a keeper and I reccomend it to anyone who's having a little problem getting started on your job seach...HAPPY HUNTING! Oh and I started my new job on Monday at a nice pay raise... ... Read more

Nice Program!
The handwriting recognition software isn't that great, though it adds other features such as a dictionary and word complete. All in all, a good program, even if you do not use the handwriting recognition software.

Excellent to save time writing in your palm
This is a really useful program. I have been using it in my work in the hospital to write patients progress notes and it has been great. I can customize its list of word so I could add the name of medications and even whole phrases like "Patient seen, chart reviewed" so when I write pa.. the whole phrase pop out and I just tap on it so I do save a lot of time typing. You can make the program scan text for new words, so to customize its list of words it is a snap.
Together with a program to print strait from the palm (like the Palm Print) it is really Great.
The only glitch is the "jot down" part of the program, sometimes it does not work very well (it would interferes with the recognition of some usual palm graffiti), but you can deactivate it and overall the program is still really good. ... Read more

This was a good, solid program that worked well to synchronize my word documents. I purchased this program rather the word smith pro as I felt this was more updated to work with windows XP. I think there may be little difference after all. I would recommend this to be used in conjunction with a keyboard accessory. Basically the Same, with a New Surprise
What sold me on this upgrade was the other reviewers' testimonies about the complaints they would receive from PC owners about not being able to open Word documents created on a Mac. I began experiencing that problem, thinking it was a system issue rather than a bug in the 2001 software.

Anyway, I bought this upgrade because I didn't need the whole Office Suite, which is three times more expensive. I haven't had the chance to explore all of Word's new features, but so far I'm happy with it. The upgrade from Office 2001 was painless. The user interface is basically the same as the 2001 version, so there were no big learning curves.
Much to my surprise, I found out that I could save my document as a PDF file right from Word with one click of a button. I didn't have to go into Acrobat Acrobat or Distiller in order to accomplish this.
Recommended.

what can I use to upgrade...???
I have office 4.2.1 will this count as an upgrade???? I don't want to buy this and find out that it won't! I hate office, but love entourage and if I qualify for the upgrade, it's actually cheaper than buying entourage on its own!

Word X--just get it
I know the final version is still a few weeks away, BUt based on the test Drive version available now, word X for OS X holds ALOT of promise! With OS X 10.1, the whole app uses the same Aqua guidelines and features very well--the dialog boxes, icons, the way you can use and edit small images in your word docs, etc. Plus, you don't have to hear the old "send document x to us in word format" ever again :-) So even with some of the main features turned off in the test Drive, you'll see what great potential this version has for OS X users (but you'll need version 10.1) ... Worst program and support ever encountered !
I purchased this program and have had nothing but problems from the start. It installs, loads and opens fine but thats where it ends. The program is dead slow in operation. Changing the format of a Resume can take up to three minutes to happen. Just opening the dialog button to make a change, any change is drastically slow. You are much better off using word. After e-mailing their Technical Support staff I can see why the product does not work. They are all totally ignorant of their own product and how to fix any problems. You would have better luck clicking your heels together and "wishing" it were fixed. The company policy states a full refund from the manufacturer if not completely satisfied, FORGET IT. Upon asking for a refund after many attempts to get help, I was told that they would only exchange the product for another. What a Crock. I have since purchased another product that works just fine. It is Nova's Win Way Resume and it is just great. If you need a Resume software program go with them and stay away, far away from anything that Individual Software produces, they are a rip off.

Stick with Word. This product is a loser!
This program is an exercise in frustration. Once you get past installation problems and run time errors, there is not much to be rewarded with. The format is awkward and difficult to understand. After spending the time to make the resume look just as you'd like it, you find that it will only look that way if you print it from ResumeMaker. Forget about sending it by email. Nobody out there has ResumeMaker to open your file with and converting the resume to a common file type mangles the look you spent so much time to create. Despite the informative content, this program lacks a lot. The Resume Caster and Job Finder take too much time for the poor results they produce and there is a lack of example resumes for common professions. For the quality you get, this program should be shareware. Anything over $10 for this product is too much. And it's a good thing Individual Software's tech support is toll-free because their knowledge and service leave much to be desired.

Better than nothing but not by much.
The program does not allow you to easily reuse previously entered data. Most of the time I would like to reuse the entered data for different resume types. But the program does not allow you to choose to use previoulsy entered data and makes you enter it again each time. So you must enter your employment history over and over.

The program asks for the same information over and over. Each time you change the resume format it ask for you employment history and education. This information is usually the same. The program should give you the option of reuse of previously entered information. Other users also mentioned a version 7.3. Yet when I called customer support and asked where to get the upgrade they either had no idea or said the program would automatically update during registration. Well the program does not self upgrade and the current 7.0 version has problems.

Not ready for prime time
After reading the reviews on this website I purchased Resume Maker 7.0 and installed the program on a Windows2K computer. The installation of the program is the only thing that has not given me problems. Though the program has many excellant features, getting them to work properly has been an exercise in patience. Even after getting the upgrades to V7.3 the program still constantly crashes or changes the spacing/formatting of the document I am working on. Text is dropped out of description cards with out me knowing it, spaces and/or lines are inserted at the end of description cards for no reason, and I could go on. This software has the potential to be a great program, but in my opinion it is not quite ready for prime time. ... Read more

Time, time, time
It's incompatible with my MacLinkPlus; everything must become Appleworks 5 before it can then be translated into AW6 and the same thing works in reverse. I can't cut & past text from my old fave WordPerfect for Mac. And it's the slowest somemabitch, at least in iMac X+, that I've ever had the impatience to work with. Spinning wheel: working, working, working, all right already: finish working! It's basically sound, but I can't call up the usually codes to see what is really going on, as I could with WordPerfect. Its translation to html is a nice attempt but full of hesitancies, mistranslations, & that goddamned eternal spinning wheel: processeing, processing. I really think I *could* like this word process if they fixed up the speed, efficiency, & translatability, & added the "seeing within" features I like. [I had hoped WordPerfect would make something for Mac X+, but they say no.]
