Perfect for my needs
I run a business in California and was given this product from a friend who had used it and had good things to say about it. I found it very easy to use (i'm not the techiest of people), and the data was very accurate. I did a search for dealers in the state of California and was quite impressed with the results. We also used their custom data service to buy additional leads, and found them to be of top quality at the most reasonable price we could find.
I'd recommend.

I would highly recommend it!
I have now used the American Business Listings product to run three seperate campaigns. I couldnt believe how easy it was to use, and how quick it was on searching for new leads. We have done a fair amount of business as a result of using this program. I would highly recommend it!

TAKE A LOOK AT THEIR OTHER PRODUCTS
Great company, but I bought this product and should have bought the other one they are selling. It was pretty much my fault, as I did not properly understand the difference between both offerings. This one, the one that I bought, is 1 Million listings, which is GREAT if you are looking for GENERAL listings as you have 1 Million to choose from. BUT, I was looking for specifics (Doctors) and the CD simply did not contain enough for me. The OTHER product that Infochase sells, has a database of 15 Million businesses plus. When you spend the 350.00, you are prepaying for 3500 (or in the case of their 429.00 product - 4500 listings)...this would have been a better purchase for me, becuase it would have been better for me to search the WHOLE database, as opposed to only a database of 1 Million.
In summary: If you are looking to target a very specific set of companies, and want to search the LARGE database, then buy their other product. I have since done so and it is AMAZING. BUT, if you are looking for a CD with a million leads for a great price...then THIS CD might be GREAT for you. My suggestion is to go to their website and call customer service. They were VERY helpful.

Incredible Customer Support
I had a few questions about the product and my campaign, so I called them to see if someone could help me out. Someone in customer service spent about 45 minutes on the phone with me. They were fantastic. Not only were they patient with me, but I couldnt believe when the guy called me back three days later to see how my work was coming along. I really got the sense they cared. Its nice to see from a company these days.

I'm not the guitarist / musician
I'm not the guitarist/musician...I'm a small business owner who has the same name as a famous musician.
I've done a few campaigns for my small business with them now, and have had good results with their program and their data.
I recently began putting together the pieces for another campaign, and called the company to see when their new product is coming out. They informed me that they are launching a portal this summer and all leads will cost just ten cents, and will be downloadable in real time. I'm yet to see this type of offer from anyone else. There are a couple other companies that are selling data online, but nowhere near these prices. Call them and ask about their portal. Save your money
This is another terrible product by InfoUsa. For a small business trying to extract information for mailing lists it's a waste of time and money. It's even worse than SelectPhone, which used to be a terrific software package. You can't extract more than 1000 names at a time, it's hard to use, nothing is co-ordinated for the user. They lie on their promotion and packaging. Nothing works. Don't waste money on ProCD either. I'm trying to find a software program like this that actually works

It Depends on Why You Use It...
This is my third year of purchasing these discs, and although there are things I don't really like, they serve my purposes very well. If you want to use this product for mass marketing, be warned that you can only print a limited number of mailing labels from the program before you have to call the company and pay extra to increase the number you can print. Since I use it to clarify address information and to located specific individuals and businesses, printing labels is not a problem. The program provides search capabilities far superior to online address websites. You can search by name, address, phone, zip code or business type, and reverse-search by many of these same fields. Online address/phone search engines simply don't compare. I can look up all the Bubba Smiths in the entire state of Texas, or look at every business or residence on a particular street. The reviews below mention that the program is slow, but I don't have that problem. In fact, some of the problems with last year's release seem to have been fixed this time around. Registration is much easier, and the program no longer opens up a browser window taking you to the InfoUSA website. Still, there are a number of promotional screens that you have to close whenever you start or stop the program. Overall, you might be disappointed if you want to do mass marketing, but for regular searches, this program is a huge asset.

Save your money, don't buy this product
After purchasing this program, I found out you can only print, copy or export two thousand records from the database before the program requires you to pay more money for more records. This program has more bugs than any other program I've ever used. It hangs just about every time I use it and it is slow. The program also has no import features to speed data entry. Over all I would say I wasted money on this program because I can get the same data off the Internet for free, and just as quickly.

Not for phone number searches!
I purchased this product based on Amazon.com's description that this product's capibilities included searches by phone number. The product box does not indicate such a search is possible and my multiple tries atcommunication with the CDUSA have gone unanswered. I'm now searching forother product to fill my needs. Select Phone 2001 edition
I have this and was checking it out only to find it not up to date.I was checking addresses and I am not even listed in it. I have kived at this address for 2 years and not listed.But yet it is the 2001 version.I planned on using it to notify people and businesses of a new ceiling service I now provide but how many notices will I get back because either the people have moved or the businesses have closed within the past couple years. ... Telephone catalogs
I think the product is excellent for the price I originally paid. I found a couple of outdated numbers, normally that's not a bad average but I only look up a few numbers a month. You can't export enough numbers either but then of course I'm not using it for mailing lists. It outdates itself in a year, but at that price that's not so bad, you can afford to renew. But at the price they try to sell it for directly is not very reasonable, unless you are using it to extract high volume mailing lists. All in all it's a nice product.

A Great product if used properly for the price.
This product is a Great product when it is used properly. Users who expect to do mass mailings with an under $99 product are not being realistic about the product. I use this product EXTENSIVELY for finding detailed information about potential target clients, as a Super effective reverse directory and when you begin to understand the SIC coding it is especially effective. You MUST do specific refined seraches. It will not help you do MASS mailings and attempting to use it for this purpose is frustrating, since the product was not intended for that. Also it is purposefully impared from operating on a network, since the company offers a network enabled version for a more realistic price. I feel they are very reasonable in this regard. Tech support and attempting to get information from InfoUSA is a different story. Complete chaos and inconsistancy in their support people would be giving them a kind rating. They DO NOT even admit this product exists in most cases, since they want you to buy the much more expensive commercial version. This is what your other reviewers really require, not this product. I have used this product for 3 years and don't know how my business could function without it. I leave the CD in my drive because I use it EVERYDAY !

Select Phone Deluxe 2000 is company's worst version yet
For residential use as a national directory, this software may be helpful, but I would never, ever recommend it to a small business. It's not network compatible and the ability to export or print only a limited number of names makes it useless. The company's rate of 8 cents per additional name is outrageous.

Selct Phone - Read the fine print
You are limited to printing 5000 records and then they charge you an additional 8 cents per record. You also can not eliminate duplicate records. So printing a lable for a household with three residents costs you 24 cents. When I called the company to get additional records, I was quoted widely varying prices for the additional records. It apeared that they were charging what ever they could get.

Select Phone 2000 was grossly misrepresented by InfoUSA. Using the internal "Workbook" to store data for the purpose of printing labels doesn't provide the ability to print more than 3000 records, contrary to what InfoUSA stated. Their surcharge for more records is outrageous. ... Read more

Firstly, I think this piece of software must have built by a blind person. It was impossible to use, very cumbersome, and very difficult to figure out. Secondly, when I tried to call the company to get some help, I couldn't believe how rude, and uninformed their staff are. Good Points and Bad.You decide.
I use this software to locate individuals or businesses, rather than for mass mailings.The program offers a wide variety of ways to search, either by name, phone number, address or business type.These capabilities are not available with searchable online directories like Switchboard.com, so the program has been a valuable tool.The downside is that even after purchasing the software, users must call the company to get an unlock code within a limited number of days or the program ceases to be functional.Also, every time you close the program, you have to close a series of "promotional" screens advertising the company's other products.For people interested in mass mailings, there is a limit to the number of mailing labels that can be printed directly from the software.After the limit is reached, users must pay additional money to increase the number of labels they can print. Finally, the program constantly starts up a browser window which goes to the InfoUSA website where users are assaulted with more advertising. It's disruptive and annoying, and only by calling technical support can a user stop the browser window from opening.
