Power Plug Transition 2
This program is awsome. Especially for teachers. A class, or presentacion can be done with ease. It will keep your audience atencion and asking for more. But be adviced that you need a computer with a fast 3D chip. A laptop can do the trick.

This is a really fun product from CrystalGraphics. It adds TV-style 3D transition effects into your PowerPoint presentations.

I used it recently when I gave a presentation to a room full of venture capitalists who were doing a lot of talking during earlier presentations. But when it was my turn, they quieted way down during the first transition effect (the sound effects got their attention, the cool visual effects kept their attention). By the second slide transition I had their undivided attention. During the third slide transition they broke out into applause. It was really cool. Then they started asking me questions about the key points I was trying to make in my presentation and I knew I had them in the palm of my hand. A nice way to spruce up a PowerPoint presentation
I bought this product and I am very happy with it.

The description above doesn't really tell you what the product is, so let me tell you about it. It is a software product that plugs into PowerPoint 97, 2000 etc. (Windows version) and lets you add your choice of really good looking arrows and buttons and other useful shapes into your presentation. This lets you point to key statements, or explain the flow of a process, etc.

But the best part (to me) is that you can add your own text to these shapes, and many of them can animate if you want them to. It is very easy to use, and the results are very professional looking.

I first heard about it in a review in PC Magazine earlier this year. They gave it 5 stars and called it a "must-have" product for PowerPoint presenters. I thought, with an endorsement like that, it's worth trying out. And I wasn't disapointed.

Save your money
I bought this (V8.2) because the company I work for does not use Outlook (or any other calendar/scheduling software)...I, at least, needed something for myself to maintain appts, etc.
How disappointing this software is. Besides having the "feel" of something incomplete, there are some serious problems...here is what I have discovered after one day of use.
- There is no way to have this program auto-start with Windows. You must manually launch this application.
- There is no place to enter a website in the "Contacts" area of businesses, clients, friends, etc.
- When you bring up an email address using the Planner software, there is a button ("E-Mail:") that supposedly launches your email application with the recipient already filled in and ready for you to compose. Well, unless you have Outlook (and if you do, then why do you need this?) no application will start...and there is no way to select your email program...Outlook is hard-coded in.
I verified all of these issues with Franklin-Covey.
So, save your money and buy something that's fully functional. ... Read more

Industrial Strength for ops analysts and R&D
Unlike SAS' STATVIEW, which is for general statistical analysis for a number of business and technical disciplines, this application is focused on operations analysis, statistical process control and design of experiments.

What makes this an 'industrial-strength' tool is the fact that it works with mainstream applications, such as Microsoft Excel (open tables can directly access Excel files), and with any database that can be accessed via ODBC (MS Access, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). Further ease of use is provided by the column browser that combines a familiar spreadsheet view with powerful navigation capabilities. Additional flexibility is given by extensive reporting features (easy layout, save as HTML for web publishing, and editing data while in the report function). If you want to automate repetitive tasks JMP also includes a scripting language that is reasonably easy to learn and is integrated with the formula editor.

One of the more powerful functions is design of experiments, which sets this application apart from general statistics programs - if you use DOE or Taguchi methods then you have ample justification for investing in JMP because you're be significantly more productive.

In addition to DOE/Taguchi methods JMP does descriptive statistics (eliminating the need for a separate statistics program), linear models, correlations and multivariate computations, statistical process control charts, and time series analysis. These capabilities make it ideal for anyone involved with quality assurance, R&D, operations analysis and reliability modeling. Power Movie Enhances Power Point
Working with power point has become mundane. Power movie has enhanced all of my presentations. They are much more exciting and interesting and very simple to use. You just choose from templates and save them as AVI or Gifs and then it automatically imports it to Powerpoint. Very cool.

A Great Inexpensive Power Point Plug-In !
I am a high school computer teacher and I have used this product for several months. It is a inexpensive way to spice up Power Point presentations. I have had few problems with this software though it sometimes locks up my Power Point 2000 when composing presentations. I would buy any upgrade to this program if it smoothed out any rough spots, and if it added more effects.

Not a happy camper
I need to make LOTS of charts in graphs in the next several months. I am a total retard when it comes to MS Excel. I thought I'd pick up this one because it said EZ all over it. Well, low and behold, this program makes Excel look like paint by numbers. This program is VERY complicated and the help (as most help is) is USELESS..it tells you WHAT to do, but not HOW to do it. I needed a program that had wizards or at least retard instructions, but this one is NOT the one! Guess I'm screwed outta my money cuz I can't return it. So much for my first online software purchase, NEVER again!

A chart is worth 1000 words & this program is a bargain!
This has to be one of the most valuable graphics utilities I own - and one of the most amazing. It sits in my system tray waiting for me to invoke it, and when I do I'm greeted by an instant chart menu that pops up regardless of what application(s) I happen to be running. From there I select the chart type I need and make the chart.

There are eight categories of chart types provided with this program: Groups (accents, headings and categories), Relationships (org charts, orbit, triad, pyramid and puzzles), Processes (flow, fan-in and -out, flow-in and -out and cycle), Comparisons (pro & con, ratings, quadrant, and stock arrows and tables), Tables (simple, grid, rows, columns and totals), Charts (bar, column, pie, pyramid, line and area), Lists (bullets, checklist, paragraphs and quotes), and scheduling (agenda, time line, Gantt, and various calendar types).

Because I am a consultant who does a lot of writing and need to convey the most information with the least page count I use this program all of the time. My favorite tools are time lines and Gantt charts, which are intelligent enough to add dates and watch them auto adjust bars. Comparisons are another group that I frequently use. If you are familiar with the Boston Quadrant, then you will love the fact that you can produce one in mere minutes. Also, you can enter labels and select a different display type and the program automatically transforms to what you select. This is great for quickly examining the best way to display information. After you have your graphic laid out to your satisfaction you can add textures, select color themes and backgrounds with a mouse click and selection. A finishing touch is the ability to add callouts and other graphic elements to add flair to your graphic before saving it. Once you are done you save your masterpiece as a Gif file and insert it into your favorite application. I have inserted my graphics into Visio, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I have also used them in web pages.
