beats the old mac extension
I purchased Conflict Catcher to replace the existing extension that came with 9.1 because of problems with the software. It crashes, hogs some memory and has limited function compareable to the most colorful Conflict Catcher which has more function than a hard bound encyclopedia. Its function is apparent during the start up and you can adjust the icons to its smaller size to avoid less clutter on the desktop upon startup. You can make multiple sets of extensions to reduce the amount of existing extensions needed so the computer can run smoothly without slowing down. If there is conflict with a particular extension software, the Conflict catcher will alert you to it so you can make a decision to ignore the problem extension software entirely, or even better, to delete the offending extension to ensure a smooth ride to your desktop. ... THIS SOFTWARE IS TERRIBLE!
I have just purchased the COMMUNICATE! software and quite frankly, I am extremely disappointed with the purchase! The set up process is cumbersome and complicated. Additionally, importing data is excruciating from the incomplete and poorly written included instructions. Unfortunately, the manufacturer (01 Communique) does not appear to offer a money back guarantee and once software has been opened it cannot be returned. If you are considering the purchase of fax software, I STRONGLY suggest that you spend your money on a different fax program!

DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE
I bought the Communicate 10.0 and I could not get it to work so the manufacturer had me try the i2000 version to see if I could get that to work. I downloaded the software and I could not get that to work either. I sent them the test information they asked me for and they told me that my modem was not compatible. He sent me a list of modems and there were only Three modems listed which were not listed on the box as hardware requirements. If you don't want to lose your money do not buy this software.

Pretty cool!
I haven't been using the product for that long, but it certainly has all the bells-and-whistles, and they all work. It is picky about the modem it needs (requiring a modem that properly supports voice), but once running it is very slick! Answers my phone, allows me to do voice mail blasts etc. etc.

I would definitely recommend anyone try the 30 day trial. They have a newer product that allows remote access to your email, contacts, files and such (according to tech support anyway), but the remote access appears to be the only difference from this product ... and if it ain't broke! ... Great Buy
I bought this program to transcribe text from a word processor to my computer and I've been delighted with the results. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that the system requirements they give are sorely understated. The computer I was using origninally had 256M RAM and was running at 533MHz, and I had continual problems with voice recognition. Now, I have 512M RAM and am running above 1GHz, and the difference in ease of use is like magic. All of these programs (from the reviews I've read) understate system requirements this way. Sure, you can (probably) get the program to run with their minimum; but to perform the way you'ld expect...not gon'na happen. That said, this is a great buy for the money and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Extremely useful; reliability problems
I have mixed feelings about this program, which I have used extensively in my one week of ownership. It is one of the most useful and freeing programs I've ever found. Suddenly, entering notes for lengthy research projects became a breeze. However, this program crashes constantly. Although I am able to recover the text after a crash, the dictation portion is lost -- and I am unable to execute the correction procedure necessary for the program's effectiveness and voice recognition accuracy. This program was designed for dictating letters and similar, brief documents. I have learned, now, to break up note-taking sessions into smaller documents. Once you get past a couple of pages of dictation, you risk crashing the program.

Good system
I bought this system three weeks ago for transcription purposes. It is easy to install and comes with a headset that is pretty sturdy. You can teach it how to recognize the way you speak with the ability to constantly add new words. I am sure you could pay more for this type of product but why would you want to?
